The Brewers open as the biggest favourites(-245) on the slate in a terrific matchup against a bottom-five Pirates offence that has struck out over 27% of the time over the last two weeks. For Woodruff, he has gone 4-1 over his last five starts while allowing just five earned runs(1.73 ERA) and striking out 34% of batters he has faced. He tops my model, he tops our projections, and he is an elite play in all formats on Saturday. Carlos Carrasco FD 9000 DK 7500 Opponent - MIA (Braxton Garrett) Park - MIA FD - 32.82 DK - 16.89 There is a path to paying up for both pitchers on DraftKings today and while Kyle Wright would be my top choice, he has lacked strikeouts lately and faces a team who just doesn't swing and miss. This has me going down the board to find some value at the SP2 position and Carrasco is coming to us at a season-low price. This after a huge bounce-back effort in his last start where he allowed just one earned run to the Rangers while striking out eight over 5.2 innings. He now faces a struggling Marlins offence that has just a .276 wOBA and 79 wRC+ over the last two weeks. I will have exposure to Carrasco in all formats on DraftKings helping me to more bats. Catcher/First Base Christian Walker FD 3500 DK 3900 Opponent - COL (Kyle Freeland) Park - COL FD - 10.54 DK - 7.99 The Diamondbacks' offence has looked a whole lot better as of late as they sit with a wRC+(115) over the last two weeks that is 25% higher than their 26th ranked season number(90). Walker has played a role in that success as he is hitting .286 over the last three weeks while getting on base at an elite .440 clip which has produced a personal 178 wRC+ in that time. He has also thrived against lefty pitching with a .442 wOBA/186 wRC+ in the split on the season. All things considered, Walker is my top PTS/$ play at first base...

Pitchers Dylan Cease FD 10400 DK 9800 Opponent - DET (Beau Brieske) Park - DET FD - 44.59 DK - 24.74 There are some elite arms on this slate but Cease gets the edge as our top guy and it almost entirely comes down to matchup. While the Tigers have been much better in the short term(won four straight), they still rank bottom three in almost every statistical category on the season and have been slightly worse against right-handed pitching, as well. For Cease, he has been in the AL Cy Young conversation all season and has been especially good as of late holding opponents to just two earned runs over his last eight starts(.46 ERA) with a 33.1% K rate. Fire up Cease in all formats tonight, especially on DraftKings where he remains under $10K. Joe Musgrove FD 11100 DK 9700 Opponent - SF (Logan Webb) Park - SF FD - 40.65 DK - 21.73 The projections and optimizer already love paying up for both pitchers on DraftKings and with a real lack of value on the mound, it is really hammering that home tonight. Much like Cease, Musgrove is having a breakout season with some eye-popping numbers starting with his stamina as he has gone into the 6th inning in all 14 starts. Then it's the consistency that stands out as he has held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in 12 of those starts(2.25 ERA) and he has also flashed big upside with 7+ strikeouts eight times. To cap it off, he comes at a sub $10K price tag on DraftKings and faces a struggling Giants team that is striking out over 24% over the last two weeks. Fire up Misgrove in all formats. Cron FD 4400 DK 5000 Opponent - ARI (Dallas Keuchel) Park - ARI FD - 14.13 DK - 10.62 We aren't normally targeting the Rockies' bats outside of Coors that is unless they are facing a lefty as they lead the league in wOBA(.354) in the split. Not only that, they get the best matchup on the board against Dallas Keuchel who has given up four or more earned runs in four straight starts(22 total). Pitchers Alek Manoah FD 11000 DK 9300 Opponent - OAK (Cole Irvin) Park - OAK FD - 41.64 DK - 22.22 Manoah is the most expensive arm on both sites and for good reason, as he opens as a -235 favourite against the A's who rank bottom three in almost every hitting category. While he lacks the same elite ceiling as other aces, there is no arguing his value as he has allowed more than three earned runs just once entering the night with an elite 2.09 ERA and has tallied 19 or more DK points in seven of his last eight starts. All things considered, Manoah is our top pitcher and in play in all formats. Julio Urías FD 9500 DK 8300 Opponent - COL (Kyle Freeland) Park - COL FD - 37.74 DK - 19.24 The pitch count or lack thereof for Urias(90+ pitches in just three starts) can limit his upside at times but don't mistake that for a lack of consistency. Coming into Monday's start, he has gone at least five innings in 14 straight while holding opponents to two or fewer earned runs in 11 of those. Urias and the Dodgers are also the biggest favourites(-286) on the slate going up against a Rockies team that is a bottom-five offence on the road. While he is best used in cash games, I will have exposure in all formats tonight. Catcher/First Base Vladimir Guerrero Jr. FD 4100 DK 5300 Opponent - OAK (Cole Irvin) Park - OAK FD - 11.9 DK - 8.96 Alejandro Kirk FD 3400 DK 4900 Opponent - OAK (Cole Irvin) Park - OAK FD - 7.64 DK - 5.8 When looking at implied runs tonight, the Jays are somewhat buried and sit mid-pack but are very high on my list. They also get a plus matchup vs Cole Irvin who is being hit hard by the regression we have been talking about for some time and it could get worse as he has given up a .316 wOBA and .426 SLG but the advanced stats are much worse with a .374 xwOBA and .554 xSLG. Irvin has also been much worse against right-handed batters so that's where we will begin. All but Logan Gilbert that is as he gets one of the best matchups on the board against an A's team that is 2nd to last in runs scored and dead last in average, wOBA, and wRC+ on the season. For Gilbert, he has taken his game to the next level in year two as he enters the night with a sparkling 2.44 ERA/3.63 xFIP and is striking out over a batter per inning. He is my top pitcher on both sites and in play in all formats. Graham Ashcraft FD 9000 DK 8000 Opponent - CHC (Kyle Hendricks) Park - CHC FD - 26.39 DK - 13.8 Get ready for some risk at the SP2 spot on DraftKings tonight. The system loves the PTS/$ value with Kikuchi but I will keep that roller coaster ride for GPP formats. For cash games, I have much more faith in Ashcraft who has put together a very solid rookie campaign. He has held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in five of seven starts and flashed his upside last time out striking out eight Giants and walking none. The rubber match of this series is a pickem in Vegas but I like the matchup against a league-average Cubs offence and will have exposure to Ashcraft in all formats. Also Consider: Yusei Kikuchi(TOR) for even more saving at the SP2 position but strap in as the variance has been off the charts. Let's start with Montgomery who opens as a -300 home favourite against an A's team that ranks bottom three in almost every statistical category. Monty is coming off his worst start of the season on the road in Tampa but the good news is that he has been much better at home averaging close to seven DK points more per game. All things considered, he is our top cash game pitcher on this slate. George Kirby FD - P 9000 DK - SP 7100 Opponent - BAL (Tyler Wells) Park - SEA FD - 35.49 DK - 18.97 Looking at the model on my cheatsheet, Kirby comes in at #1 tonight so seeing that $7,100 price tag on DraftKings has me salivating big time. The Mariners' first-round pick in 2019 made his way to the big leagues in a hurry and has been more everything they expected and enters Monday with a 3.12 ERA/3.40 xFIP through nine starts. He has also flashed the elite K stuff he showed in the minors as he has struck out six or more in five of his nine starts. The Orioles haven't been AS bad as everyone expected but are still a bottom 10 offence overall and have struck out over 26% of the time over the last week. I will have exposure in all formats as he provides more PTS/$ upside than Montgomery. Catcher/First Base Freddie Freeman FD - 1B 4500 DK - 1B 5800 Opponent - COL (Chad Kuhl) Park - COL FD - 17.94 DK - 13.52 The Dodgers head into Colorado tonight and with the balanced pitching approach I went over above it shouldn't be too hard to get exposure tonight, at least on DraftKings. Freeman is a former MVP and once again tearing the cover off the ball as he enters Monday with hits in 10 straight bringing his average up over .300 on the season.
