This week the PGA Tour remains in Florida and heads to the home of Arnies Army, Bay Hill Club & Lodge, for the Arnold Palmer Invitational. The big difference this week compared to last week's Honda Classic which kicked off the Florida swing is the field. As always, this event draws an elite field and this year welcomes nine of the Top 10, 23 of the Top 25, and 42 of the Top 50 players in the Official World Golf Rankings. The elite field will be challenged as Bay Hill has ranked as a Top 10 hardest course on tour(including majors!) in five of the last six years and ranked out as the hardest back in 2020. As with most Florida courses, water is a major defence and the win can also wreak havoc on golfers. Next up is the distance as it plays as one of the longest courses on the regular tour schedule and it starts with the Par 3's as they are some of the longest and hardest on tour listed at 199, 215, 221, and 231 yards. Combine that with five of Par 4's that come in over 450 yards and there is a well-above-average amount of long-iron approach shots here. Looking at the shotlink and strokes gained data over the last three years, this is another tournament where the correlations are very even across the board with Strokes Gained: Approach ranking at the top each season. Inside that bubble, I will also be weighing long iron approaches quite high in my model and bombers who are relatively accurate can also gain a ton on the field. With that said, let's look at the course, trends, and dig into some picks. The Course Previous Five Winners 2022 - Scottie Scheffler(-5) 2021 - Bryson DeChambeau(-11) 2020 - Tyrrell Hatton(-4) 2019 - Francesco Molinari(-12) 2018...

Guards LaMelo Ball FD - $10300 DK - $10300 Opponent - DET Proj Pts FD - 50.71 DK - 52.89 All eyes will be on this game as it features the only two teams ranked outside the Top 20 in defensive efficiency. For me, it starts with LaMelo who has picked up where he left off before the break and opened the second half with back-to-back double-doubles, one with rebounds, and one with assists. Going back to the end of January, Ball has been one of the hottest players in the league nearly averaging a triple-double on 24.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 9.4 assists for just shy of 55 fantasy points per game. On this smaller slate, he is my top guard and top overall play on both sites. Jaden Ivey FD - $6000 DK - $5600 Opponent - CHA Proj Pts FD - 30.66 DK - 33.71 On the other side of this fantasy-friendly matchup, we have another player who has been producing excellent PTS/$ numbers in the short term. Ivey comes in with the second-highest usage in the current starting lineup for the Pistons and has taken double-digit shot attempts in five straight while providing 30+ fantasy points in each of those games. This game has a total(236.5) that is 11 points higher than the next highest, the Hornets rank outside the Top 20 in defence, and with a price that is only slowly on the rise, Ivey is a top PTS/$ play for me in all formats Monday. Derrick White FD - $6900 DK - $5500 Opponent - NY Proj Pts FD - 31.38 DK - 33.42 While this matchup is not nearly as fantasy-friendly as the one above, Jaylen Brown will be out for the Celtics which opens up some PTS/$ value at the guard position. The biggest beneficiary of Brown's absence is Derrick White who has averaged over six more shots per game and over 43 fantasy points per game over eight games with no Brown going back to the start of January. There is a bit of risk here as he is dealing with an ankle injury which has me a little less interested on FanDuel at nearly $7K but on DraftKings where the price is still way down in relation to his role, White is a top value and a core play in all...

DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Saturday 2/25

Guards Tyrese Haliburton FD - $8800 DK - $9400 Opponent - ORL Proj Pts FD - 46.33 DK - 49.36 Looking at the top of the salary on Saturday, there are a lot of tough matchups for the top guys which has me drifting toward a more balanced build for this slate. It starts with Haliburton who picked up where he left off right before the break dropping a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds in an OT loss to the Celtics on Thursday. It was the second time he had posted 56 or more fantasy points in his last three games and while there has been some up and downs at these prices, this is a great spot in a game with a 230+ total and one of just two games where both defence's rank in the bottom half. Jordan Clarkson FD - $6900 DK - $7300 Opponent - SA Proj Pts FD - 38.13 DK - 42.71 Talen Horton-Tucker FD - $5900 DK - $5500 Opponent - SA Proj Pts FD - 37.9 DK - 39.98 Speaking of great spots, the late game between the Spurs and Jazz is the prime spot on this slate with a 241.5 total with the teams ranking 30th and 26th in defensive efficiency respectively. Let's start on the Utah side where Collin Sexton remains out of the lineup adding a ton of value to the guard position. Clarkson has been consistent all season and even better in the short term dropping 20+ points in seven of his last eight games while averaging 19 shots a game and with the addition of 4.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists in that time, is averaging just shy of 35 fantasy points. As for Horton-Tucker, he is coming off his second start of the season and while he went just 2 of 11 shooting for nine points, he added seven rebounds, six assists, and three combined steals+blocks for over 31 fantasy points. He is primed for another start tonight and if the shooting gets back to normal, he has a high floor for cash and lots of upside for GPP's at this sub $6K price tag on both sites. Both guards are in great spots against the Spurs league-worst defence and are in play in all formats. Malaki Branham FD - $5700 DK - $5200 Opponent -...

DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Thursday 2/16

Guards Jrue Holiday FD - $8000 DK - $7500 Opponent - CHI Proj Pts FD - 37.48 DK - 41.19 The system has been loving Jrue Holiday over the last week and to be honest, it hasn't been wrong. Holiday has been playing great in the short-term averaging 24.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 7.0 assists over the past four games while providing us 37 or more DraftKings points in each of those games and showing monster upside last game with 64 fantasy points. The Bulls are not the greatest of matchups(7th in def eff) but are playing on a back-to-back and it helps that Jrue gets all the minutes he can handle and despite playing well has not seen his price go up much at all. He is in play in all formats. Mike Conley FD - $6200 DK - $5200 Opponent - WAS Proj Pts FD - 27.83 DK - 30.77 Bradley Beal FD - $9300 DK - $7700 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 35.74 DK - 38.49 There is a lot to like about this game from a fantasy perspective as it has the highest total(234.5) on the slate and features the only two teams ranked outside the Top 10 in defensive efficiency. Let's start with some exposure to the guards and we can attack both sides here starting with Mike Conley who was a new addition to the T-Wolves at the trade deadline. He was eased into his first start playing just 26 minutes but was unleashed last game against the Mavs and looked good providing just over 31 fantasy points. At his current price, we are looking for a 28-point floor and he has tallied that in 11 straight games. On the other side of the ball, Bradley Beal is coming off a poor fantasy effort but we cannot ignore the price differential as FanDuel has him over $9K while DraftKings has dropped the price back down into the $7K. That is where I am comfortable playing Beal now that he is no longer the 30-points-per-game player he was a few years back. Before that disappointing effort last game, he was on fire tallying 40+ fantasy points five straight and more good news as he is getting the volume again. Both guards are in play in all formats. Also Consider: Terance Mann(LAC) as a value...

It was another wild week at the WM Phoenix Open and the elevated event definitely did not disappoint as the leaderboard was stacked all weekend. It was Scottie Scheffler, who was one of three players to shoot in the 60's in all four rounds, taking home the trophy and also taking back #1 in the World. This week the Tour heads back to California to close out the West Coast swing with the Genesis Invitational and like last week, this is another "elevated event" with a huge 20 million dollar purse. That was the story of the week up until Friday afternoon when Tiger Woods Tweeted out he would be playing in the Genesis Invitational. He joins an already elite field that includes nine of the Top 10(no Cam Smith for LIV reasons) and 39 of the Top 50 players in the Official World Golf Rankings. After a tough week at TPC Scottsdale, things don't get any easier for the players as they will take on Riviera Country Club this week. Despite Joaquin Niemann posting the lowest winning score(-19) since it was the Northern Trust Open back in 1985, this course plays as one of the toughest non-major stops year in and year out(16th, 11th, 9th, 7th, 6th hardest last 5 years). Things get tough right off the tee as players see some of the narrowest fairways on tour which leads to low driving accuracy numbers. This, once again, has me high on Good Drive % which looks at a combination of driving accuracy + GIR % when missing the fairway. Looking at the correlated Strokes Gained stats this week, Ball Striking is once again important but unlike last week when Off the Tee and Approach were very even, it is Strokes Gained: Approach well ahead in terms of importance when looking at past results. Breaking that...
