START YOUR FREE TRIAL Playing DFS in the NFL Playoffs means combating not only limited options due to a short slate, but also due to the fact that most playoff teams have good defenses and therefore present tough fantasy matchups. I’ve found that short slates lend themselves better to entering more GPP contests and less cash games, especially 50/50s and double ups. In GPPs, there will tend to be a ton of overlap, and nailing a low owned player that is one of the highest scorers of the day can make a world of difference. DeSean Jackson – who scored a TD in four of his last six games excluding Week 17 – is liable to run by the defense for a long TD regardless of matchup. Markus Wheaton has as many red zone targets (11) as Antonio Brown over the past six weeks. James Jones is averaging 11 targets per game over the past three weeks. Keep in mind that in short slates you do not necessarily need to use your entire salary cap, especially in GPPs. Remember, the safest cash game plays are not necessarily the players who will finish with the highest scores of the day. Most entrants tend to use their entire cap, which can end up hurting them if a bunch of players in the mid-range and lower salary tiers put up higher or comparable scores to the most expensive players, which is likely simply because the middle and lower salary ranges comprise the majority of the player pool. QUARTERBACK Ben Roethlisberger - FD 8400 DK 7200 Opponent- CIN The NFL leader in passing yards per game (328.2), Roethlisberger has the most upside yardage-wise of any QB on the slate. That upside is bolstered by the fact that DeAngelo Williams (ankle) is banged up and the Steelers may rely on the passing game even more in lieu of pinning their hopes on backup runners Fitzgerald Toussaint and Jordan Todman. The Steelers’ team total is 24.5, the highest on the slate. Russell Wilson - FD 8600 DK 7000 Opponent- MIN Over the last seven weeks of the regular season, Wilson...

Chris Raybon's Daily Fantasy NFL Football Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, and DraftPot - Week 17 Editor's note: Get ready for Raybon's terrific article on the final week of the NFL! START YOUR FREE TRIAL Week 17 DFS can be tricky. Some teams are still fighting for playoff spots, some are eliminated, and some may even have an incentive to lose. 2015’s Week 17 will be kinder than most, with most playoff teams still fighting for seeding. The only playoff team that has absolutely nothing to play for is the Redskins, who have the 4th seed in the NFC locked up. They have indicated they may rest players, so act accordingly. There are some other games with no playoff implications where teams are still expected to play their starters, and these games have high over/under totals: Giants-Eagles (51.5) and Saints-Falcons (52.5). Players from these games may be under owned due to fears that they do not have any playoff implications. As a final note, the Browns and Titans are tied for the NFL’s worst record, so both would actually benefit from losing. The Steelers and Colts defenses, respectively, make for interesting GPP targets because of this. QUARTERBACK Eli Manning - FD 7500 DK 5600 Opponent- PHI Manning will close the season against the Eagles, who rank 31st in schedule adjusted fantasy points allowed to QBs. Over their last six games, the Eagles have permitted 300 passing yards and 3.2 passing TDs per game. In Manning’s last six games with Odell Beckham Jr., he is averaging 296 passing yards and 2.5 passing TDs per game. The Giants’ team total is over 27 and Manning has accounted for 89% of their offensive TDs this season. Cam Newton - FD 9100 DK 7500 Opponent- TB Newton will close out his stellar regular season with a matchup against the Bucs, who rank 25th in pass defense DVOA. The Panthers have a team total of 28.8 and Newton has accounted for 84% of their offensive TDs. The Panthers have to win this game in order to lock up the first seed in the NFC. Matt Ryan - FD 7600 DK 5500 Opponent- NO Playing Matt Ryan this season has basically been akin to lighting your bankroll on fire. But if there was ever a time to play Matty Ice, it’s...

Daily Fantasy NFL Football Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, and DraftPot - Week 16 Editor's note: Get ready for Raybon's insightful article on NFL's Week 16! He's done an amazing job breaking down the top plays of the week, but obviously, he could never include every single great play. If you want point projections for individual players? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get started with our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Draftpot. Click here to get started The Vegas lines are telling us there may not be many shootout style games in Week 16, as there is only one game with an over/under above 50 (Jaguars-Saints, which may come down if Drew Brees does not play). There are also three games with double-digit spreads (Seahawks-Rams, Chiefs-Browns, Steelers-Ravens) and another with a 9-point spread (Lions-49ers). As a result, there are a bunch of teams with high individual team totals. This week may not be a great week to combine players from the same game in GPP lineups in hopes of a shootout a la Steelers-Broncos or Lions-Saints last week, but instead focus on loading up on players on the top projected teams of the week.   QUARTERBACKS Cam Newton - FD 9300 DK 7500 Opponent- ATL Newton is tearing up the NFL in his fifth season, leading the league in TD% (7.5%). He has accounted for 83% of the Panthers’ offensive TDs, which bodes well in a game where Carolina’s Vegas implied total is above 27 points. The Falcons rank 23rd in pass defense DVOA and 21st in rush DVOA; they posed no match for Cam two weeks ago, when Newton torched the Dirty Birds for three scores on only 21 attempts. Russell Wilson - FD 8800 DK 7200 Opponent- STL Wilson has been locked in of late. In his last five games, he is averaging 284 passing yards and 3.8 passing TDs to go along with 29.4 rushing yards and 0.2 rushing TDs. He has a 19:0 TD-to-INT ratio over that span. At first glance, the Rams may seem like a tough matchup, but they have permitted 301 passing yards and 2.3 passing TDs per game over their last four games. Seattle’s Vegas implied total is robust 27 points. Blake Bortles - FD 8200 DK 6500 Opponent- NO Bortles has been hovering around top-5 fantasy QB territory (depending on what scoring format is used) all season. Over his last six games, he is averaging 271 passing yards and 2.33 passing TDs along with a healthy 21.2 rushing yards and 0.33 rushing TDs. He has accounted for 92% of Jacksonville’s offensive TDs. Meanwhile, the Saints are...

Daily Fantasy NFL Football Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, and DraftPot - Week 15 Editor's note: Get ready for Raybon's insightful article on NFL's Week 15! Click here to get started For what seems like one of the first times all season, high-priced QBs are some of the best plays on the board. On the flip side, many of the studs are risky fantasy investments this week. Odell Beckham Jr. will face off against 2015’s best cornerback, Josh Norman. Antonio Brown will face the Broncos, who have allowed the least fantasy points to WRs. A.J. Green tends to flourish on the road and he and A.J. McCarron did connect on a long TD, but can they replicate that success? This week, it probably makes sense to spend a bit more on QB while taking advantage of the value in the middle tiers at WR. Let’s get into the Week 15 plays.   QUARTERBACKS Cam Newton - FD 9400 DK 7800 Opponent- NYG Ranked second in points per game at the position, Newton will take on a Giants defense ranked 25th in pass defense DVOA and dead last in passing yards per game allowed (308.4). The Panthers’ team total is 26.5 and Newton has accounted for 81% of their offensive TDs this season. Russell Wilson - FD 8800 DK 7000 Opponent- CLE Wilson has been on fire over the past four weeks, averaging 318 total yards and 4.3 total TDs. During those four games, he has posted a 16:0 TD-to-INT ratio and hasn’t thrown for less than 3 TDs in a game. The Seahawks have a team total north of 28 points this weekend, and Wilson has accounted for 85% of their offensive TDs over the last four games. The Browns, meanwhile, rank 26th in pass defense DVOA and 29th in passing TD% allowed (6.1%). Carson Palmer - FD 8700 DK 7000 Opponent- PHI A top-five fantasy QB this season, Palmer has eclipsed 300 yards passing in five of his last six games, averaging 338 yards (and 2.5 TDs) over that span. He’ll take on an Eagles defense that has allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to QBs. The Cardinals have a team total of 27 in a game with the week’s second highest over/under (50.5). Matthew Stafford - FD 7800 DK 6100 Opponent- NO Stafford has been a...

Daily Fantasy NFL Football Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, and DraftPot – Week 14

Daily Fantasy NFL Football Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings, and DraftPot - Week 14 Editor's note: Get ready for Raybon's insightful article on NFL's Week 14! Click here to get started The winner of the FanDuel Sunday Million last week had a three-man stack of Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, and Martavis Bryant. Meanwhile, the winner of the DraftKings Millionaire Maker had a stack of the aforementioned three, plus DeAngelo Williams and the Steelers defense. Those lineups were able to gain major differentiation over the field because most entrants shy away from using anything other than a QB-WR or RB-DEF stack. However, we’ve seen a bunch of instances this season where winning lineups had creative, somewhat out of the box, stacks. As you create your tournament stacks, don’t limit yourself to the common stacks, especially in situations where one team could have a huge day on offense. For example, this week, stacking three or four of Jameis Winston, Doug Martin, Mike Evans, Vincent Jackson, and Austin Seferian-Jenkins could pay off against a dismal Saints defense.   QUARTERBACKS Russell Wilson - FD 8500 DK 6300 Opponent- BAL Wilson has produced at least 25 fantasy points in three straight games, including back-to-back efforts of 34 or more. He’ll travel to Baltimore to take on a Ravens defense that ranks 26th in pass defense DVOA and has allowed a 22:4 TD-to-interception ratio this season. With Marshawn Lynch out over the last three weeks, Wilson has turned it up: he is averaging four total TDs per game and has scored 80 percent of the team’s offensive TDs over that span. Jameis Winston - FD 7800 DK 5500 Opponent- NO Winston gets to take his turn against a Saints defense that has hemorrhaged fantasy points to QBs the entire season; they rank last in fantasy points allowed to QBs by a wide margin. The Saints rank last in QB rating allowed (116.6) and passing TDs per game allowed (2.9), and second to last in passing yards per game allowed (287.4). The Bucs have a team total of 27 this week -- significantly higher than their season average of 22.6. This bodes well for Winston, who has accounted for 85% of the Buccaneers’ offensive TDs this season. Blake Bortles - FD 7700 DK 6000 Opponent- IND A top-eight fantasy QB on the season, Bortles will take...
