Quarterback Taysom Hill At this point you should start to see a trend, dual threat quarterbacks are a cash game's best friend. In our Ebook and the Thursday article we discussed the safety derived by deploying a multidimensional signal caller. The defense has to play honest against a guy who can beat you in more than one way, and if they are over aggressive it's off to the races. Devoid of major NFL talent as a supporting cast, Hill is essentially a one man wrecking crew. His season was cut short last year due to a broken leg, but Mr. Hill says he's 100% healthy and ready to get back on the field. BYU certainly isn't easing into the season by opening on the road against a tough Nebraska team, but I think Hill is more than ready to get rolling. Mitch Matthews is the only legit receiver Hill has to throw the ball too, but at 6'5" Matthews can be a matchup nightmare, especially in the Red Zone. His usage rate should be very high week 1 as they look to pull off the upset. BYU is getting six points on the road with a total in the mid 60's so the game should be back and forth wire to wire. I fully expect Hill to do damage on the ground and through the air. His price is steep, but the safety he offers is real. He's a set it and forget type guy. Jaquez Johnson Continuing the theme of dual threat quarterbacks, JJ is a great fit and at a discounted price compared to Hill. Johnson probably doesn’t have the same ceiling as Hill, but at his price he arguably has the higher floor. Like Hill, Johnson is a do-it-all type athlete who is the unquestioned centerpiece of the offense. This will be Johnson's third year under center for the Owls. So at this point he should fully grasp the offense and will look to improve...

Quarterback Marquise Williams If you want to spend up Williams is the guy I would target. Considering his duel threat capabilities and North Carolina's ability to score he has what he needs to open the season on a high note. Williams was a little erratic last season. Over the last four weeks Williams had a high of 47 fantasy points and a low of 4 and no, he didn’t get hurt during that 4pt performance. Considering his tag I would prefer a bit more consistency, but regardless this game has the right ingredients to buy some Marquise shares. Williams is a dark horse Heisman candidate and has the ability to light teams up through the air or on the ground. With a plethora of receivers the Gamecocks may have difficulty covering the entire field. If SC is able to cover the wide outs it will undoubtedly leave Williams space up the middle to gash them with his feet. Vegas says this will be a high scoring tightly contested matchup and if that holds true Williams could be the QB play of the night. On Fanduel it's really hard to get away from a 5100 Sirk, but on DK where you need two QB's it’s a whole different story and I will look to have Williams on a few of my rosters. Thomas Sirk Sirk is currently listed as the Blue Devils starter replacing All-ACC signal caller, Anthony Boone. The Dukies may take a step back this year with the loss of Boone and Crowder, but that doesn’t mean we still can't find value scattered throughout their roster. I bring you Sirk. At 6'5" 220lbs he's a big physical athlete who isn't afraid to get his nose dirty as evidenced by his 8 rushing touchdowns on just 47 carries. I could tell you that Sirk has a career completion percentage of 71% and it would be true, but with only 14 passing attempts I won't try to sell you on...

Point Guards Russell Westbrook - FD 12100 DK 11800 DFSTR Real shocker to see him atop this, but never the less Westy projects as the top PG play on the board. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to re-word all the ways Westbrook is a fantasy gem. The guy does it and seems to play a step faster than those around him. The issue, as is always the case with him, the tag. The nightcap doesn’t offer a plethora of “comfortable” PG options so I’m more than okay locking up dollars to land a guy who is the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd option on his team. George Hill - FD 7600 DK 7000 DFSTR 4200 Westbrook’s counterpart looks to be in line as one of the top Pts/$ PG options on the night. I like Hill more than Westy in terms of value and I will gladly pair them for cash games. The rub with Hill is he will randomly have his run cut short. I don’t see this as one of those games. The Pacers should give the Thunder everything they can handle and it will be led by Hill. Rajon Rondo - FD 6000 DK 5400 DFSTR 7800 Devin Harris - FD 4000 DK 3500 DFSTR 3700 It gets pretty bleak after the two guys above, but not for a lack of potential. The Lakers get absolutely steam rolled by opposing PG’s. The issue here is who will play for the Mavs. Rondo received a night off last game so chances are he will start this game. Rondo is more than capable in dismantling the Lake Show, but he has been wildly inconsistent this since being traded to the Mavs. If Rondo sits Harris moves to the top of this list. If Rondo plays consider him a GPP play and nothing more. Consider Jordan Clarkson as I’m considerably more bullish on Clarkson than our projection system and Ty Lawson for all day leagues Shooting Guards Dion Waiters - FD 4900 DK 5000 DFSTR Waiters continues to start and receive tons of minutes, but the price continues to remain on the discount shelf. Whatever, I’ll take it. Neon Dion is somewhat reliant on scoring, which never feels good, but the price is low enough that if he goes cold from the floor he likely won’t sink your...

Outback Bowl - Wisconsin vs. Auburn Game Preview Happy New Year folks and glad we’re kicking off 2015 with some college football action. At high noon we got the Badgers tangling with the Tigers. This is an amazing slate of games today and we’re starting off with some of the best players in the country. Heisman candidates, Nick Marshall from Auburn and Melvin Gordon from Wisconsin, will surely steal the headlines in this one. Gordon broke the NCAA single game rushing record (406 L. Tomlinson 11/20/99) that stood for 15 years and he did it just 3 quarters of play with 408 yards. One week later Samaje Perine from Oklahoma ran for 427 yards. You think Gordon wants that 4th quarter back? Auburn is pretty good at stopping the run, but stopping the run and stopping Gordon can be two totally different things. Wisconsin is also good at stopping the run, but stopping Auburn’s ground game is also different. Marshall is a very dangerous duel threat quarterback and if the Badgers leave gaps Marshall will find them. Cameron Artis-Payne is no slouch by his own rights and although Wisconsin is strong upfront he should still be somewhat effective. If you like teams that run the ball then you will want to watch this one. Players to Watch (AUB) Nick Marshall, Cameron Artis-Payne, Sammie Coates (WISC) Melvin Gordon Fantasy Analysis As good as Gordon is I think you can make a strong argument to fade him here. Auburn isn’t exactly a stone wall, but they are kind of tough against the run. Gordon will get his, but it likely won’t be near what he needs to hit value. This isn’t a case of Gordon...

Music City Bowl – Notre Dame vs. LSU Game Preview Right as you realize how much Tuesdays suck you can tune into the Music City Bowl when the Tigers battle the Fighting Irish. The only thing giving Notre Dame a chance in this one is Everett Golson. Golson is far from a polished drop back quarterback, but he is as athletic as anyone and if he is in zone, making good decisions, he can wreak havoc on just about anyone. He will have to be just that because LSU is a top 10 defense (8). The player to keep an eye on for the Tigers is Leonard Fornette. He is expected to become a super star for LSU, but his freshman has been somewhat underwhelming. The Tigers do have a talented backfield so there was no need to rush him into service, but when given the opportunity he has shown flashes of what’s to come. I think Fornette may give the entire nation a glimpse of what’s to come against Notre Dame. Sorry Irish, this won’t be your day. Players to Watch (LSU) Leonard Furnette (ND) Everett Golson/Malik Zaire, Tarean Folson, Will Fuller Fantasy Analysis I won’t have a ton of exposure to this game because it just doesn’t match up well. In general, I really like the big three from ND, but LSU is legit on defense and the risk of missing value is greater than I like for cash games. LSU has been gashed, at times, by the run this year so Folson could find some room and you can never discount a freakish athlete at quarterback. The potential is there, but...
