Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 2/4/16
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 2/4/16 I’m enjoying tonight’s big slate while I look at options for tomorrow’s short one. Quite a contrast. Thursday is the first time we'll be working off a glimpse of the post-Hornacek Suns. As anticipated, Markieff Morris joined the starting lineup, with Teletovic going to the bench. Tyson Chandler got into some foul trouble and the Suns played some Small Ball, so we still have some wait-and-see on how Earl Watson’s rotations will shake out. But the bottom line is that the Suns are short-handed with limited options and a pretty narrow agenda (develop the young guys). I think it’s safe to start running them out there, and will recommend doing so given the limited options afforded by just four games. On a general note, DFSR is now posting game day Injury News and Updates, including analysis and implications for lineup adjustments. I found both the Update itself and the ensuing discussion in the comments section extremely helpful, leading to some lineup tweaks that paid off last night. For subscribers to our lineup tools, also be sure to recheck the full projections, as these are updated right up to tipoff. I can’t encourage you strongly enough to look for these posts, and participate in the discussion! Pts - 26.78 DK Proj. Pts - 27.73 First pick, first Sun. Goodwin saw a ton of minutes on Tuesday, and managed to take advantage of the opportunity after two dreadful outings. There’s no indication that Brandon Knight will be back, so I fully anticipate another extended outing against the Rockets. The matchup is excellent, as the Rockets and Suns are both high-Pace squads, and the guys from H-Town are as bad at defending the PG position as they are just about every position (with the exception of Center). You can roll him out with confidence across the board, and on FD he also presents one of the best value opportunities of the night. Note that he’s an SG on DraftKings. Norris Cole - FD 5000 DK...
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 2/3/16
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 2/3/16 Growing up in southern Louisiana I got to watch Shaq and Chris Jackson (IMHO one of the best college players of all time) share the floor in person, so I had to sneak in a little CBK tonight to watch next year’s ROY. This year’s lottery winner’s set for a long time with Ben Simmons redefining whatever position he plays. But I’m a little ahead of myself. Let’s take a look at tomorrow’s full 11 game slate, highlighted by a Dubs/John Wall track meet. One thing that stands out looking at the Vegas numbers is a lot of blowout risk, so be sure to keep that in mind. Pts - 27.34 DK Proj. Pts - 28.44 Mudiay’s floor time has fluctuated lately. Still, he has maintained a solid floor and flashed some 6X-type upside. With a projection based on relatively conservative minutes, the DFSR system loves him against Utah’s average perimeter defense. He likes to take it to the rim, and even with the Mt. Gobert waiting for him in the paint, he could spend some time at the charity stripe. High floor with some upside, I like him a lot at this price point. Russell Westbrook - FD 10900 DK 11000 Opponent - ORL FD Proj. Pts - 49.92 DK Proj. Pts - 51.68 I personally have a hard time not playing the incredibly consistent Westbrook every time OKC takes the court. Tomorrow will be no exception. You should have dollars to invest from value opportunities elsewhere, and while there’s some blowout risk, he’s practically immune even to that. No one brings it like Russ on both ends, every single night. George Hill - FD 5900 DK 5500 Opponent - BKN FD Proj. Pts - 26.87 DK Proj. Pts - 28.85 After going off for nearly 8X last game, Hill next gets to take advantage of the Nets 29th-rated PG defense. He’s been playing monster minutes, displayed a solid 4X floor, and there’s less blowout risk here than a lot of...
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and DraftPot – 1/27/16
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and DraftPot - 1/27/16 Writing these up with the Sixers/Suns D-League-ish tilt in the background, I’m reminded that the beauty of DFS is that a point in this game is worth the same as a point in an actual NBA game. Which is great – these Train Wreck franchises (both to a greater or lesser extent due to injury and managerial ineptitude) offer the value opportunities we love. I have significant positions tonight in five guys in this game (mostly a good thing... shoulda’ gone Len over Chandler – see below) But they’re all relatively risky plays, in large part due to the same factors that make them attractive options. I’m about to endorse a host of players coming off this particular back-to-back, but I want to emphasize how crucial it is to confirm injury and other rotational information as close to lineup lock as possible. That said, let’s get to it. So coming off their matchup, let's keep focusing on the Suns and Sixers with a Phoenix & Philly-themed Night POINT GUARD Archie Goodwin - FD 4100 DK 4800 Opponent - CLE FD Proj. Pts - 26.35 DK Proj. Pts - 27.22 PHO/PHI Theme Night, Part 1A Starting NBA PG = DFS points. You don’t need a degree in Aeronautical Engineering to figure this one out. Last night Goodwin went off for 10x value. Despite his skyrocketing price on DK (but not on FD…?), he’s a plug-and-play on both sites until his role changes. No reason to think that’ll be Wednesday. Russell Westbrook - FD 10500 DK 10600 Opponent - MIN FD Proj. Pts - 49.49 DK Proj. Pts - 51.27 “Russ-diculous.” Adj. meaning “To consistently provide 5x value at or above the $10k price point.” When you spend money (which is why we flag low-cost values in the first place), you want to do it safely. Westbrook is high-level production in bubble wrap. Any time the T-Wolves are involved, there’s blowout risk. Unless he gets himself ejected, he’s going to get you 40, even if he only plays 25 minutes. Ish Smith - FD 6900 DK 7400 Opponent...
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and DraftPot – 1/21/16
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and DraftPot - 1/21/16 Welcome to Short Slate Thursday! There are only 4 games tonight, but I still see some good value plays (cash games), some guys with a lot of upside (tourneys), and a few slam dunks (across-the-board). Let’s get to it. If you want to grab a free trial of the winning projections that inform each and every one of these picks, check out our lineup builder and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel and DraftKings. Pts - 32.98 DK Proj. Pts - 35.06 After a couple of lackluster outings, Knight had a bounce-back game against the Pacers on Tuesday. His price has come down a bit, and frankly, the Suns don’t have a lot of other options. A couple of the Phoenix buy-low possibilities are in limbo, either because they’re Questionable or the player they might replace is. While the matchup is lousy, the relative price to opportunity is hard to pass up. Emmanuel Mudiay - FD 5000 DK 5800 Opponent - MEM FD Proj. Pts - 24.82 DK Proj. Pts - 25.87 Mudiay’s gotten some additional run with Jameer Nelson on the mend. With Nelson now Questionable for the Nuggets' tilt with Memphis, Emmanuel may see a few less minutes, but the projections still show a really high floor here. He’s a solid option everywhere (on FD his price is criminally low), and if Nelson’s out again the ceiling is raised as well. Another value play at a slightly lower price point. Jrue Holiday - FD 6600 DK 6500 Opponent - DET FD Proj. Pts - 31.45 DK Proj. Pts - 32.92 Jrue has been hot from the floor for the last week, and his production has spiked (5x floor the last three games). Detroit is a decent matchup with an average Pace and middle-of-the-road defense against PGs. With Eric Gordon’s fragility highlighted yet again (out 4-6 weeks with a broken finger), there will be more minutes and shots for the adjusted Pels backcourt rotation. Holiday will start alongside Tyreke The Freak and the fit could be a little awkward, but the value has him in near must-start status (particularly on DK where he’s the top-rated PG for the night), SHOOTING GUARD Courtney Lee - FD...

Pts - 48.34 DK Proj. Pts - 52.74 What can you say about Steph that hasn’t already been said? The MVP has upped his game this year, and with Draymond Green out, he’s likely to be asked to shoulder even more of the load. Even at his stratospheric price, this is one of the better bargains on the board. Outside of Rajon Rondo (also worth a look), he’s the only true top-end option at PG. One word of caution: Lakers. Even with Green out, some blowout risk is here. Still, I’d advise you to pay up (literally) – it’ll be worth the investment. Ish Smith - FD 6600 DK 7000 Opponent - CHI FD Proj. Pts - 30.5 DK Proj. Pts - 31.35 Since coming over from the Pels, Ishmael has been Captain of the ship. He jacked up (and missed) a lot of shots last time out, but was sizzling from the floor the prior three games. The Bulls are barely above-average against PGs, so the main concern here is minutes (leave it to the Sixers to NOT give as much run as possible to one of their more productive players). His price keeps climbing but he’s still likely to hit value (or more). Note that he’s slightly cheaper on FD (which has higher average prices), where he’s one of the best values at the position. Mario Chalmers - FD 5200 DK 6300 Opponent - DET FD Proj. Pts - 25.95 DK Proj. Pts - 27.14 With Mike Conley still on the mend, Mario Chalmers has been outstanding. While Detroit is decent defending PGs, the value is there, even as his price rises (a particularly sharp increase on DK). If he continues starting, the opportunity is hard to pass up. Again, be sure to stay up-to-date on Conley’s status. SHOOTING GUARD Jimmy Butler - FD...
