Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 3/2/16

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 3/2/16 There’s a full slate tonight, and according to our friends offshore, there’s not too much blowout risk (even the Lakers are single-digit dogs on the road!). The games do range from track meet to snail’s pace, but the latter can still provide viable DFS options, if caution is applied. I don’t find the first national broadcast terribly compelling (will the Spurs win by 7 or 17?), but I’m looking forward to staying up a little later for OKC vs. the Clips. Should be fun. Let’s take a look for some compelling matchups. Enjoy, POINT GUARD Russell Westbrook - FD 11000 DK 11200 Opponent - LAC FD Proj. Pts - 52.76 DK Proj. Pts - 54.57 Russ is not the highest point-per-dollar (PP$) play tonight, but as of this writing (depends on if The Brow plays – more on that later) he’s up there, and easily the best elite option. Regardless, y’all know I have a man-crush on Westbrook, and when the DFSR system says I can play him, I’m a happy camper. He has been playing so poorly, he recently bottomed out at 50.75 on DK on a consistent $11k+ price. Tonight’s statistical love is explained in simplest terms by the 221.0 O/U. This means the floor is high. There’s also virtually no blowout risk, and with both teams playing at a good Pace, the upside is still there (not too common with $10k+ options). As I said, I’m looking forward to the game, and, like many of us, will have the added pleasure of a vested interest (even if just for a...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 2/25/16

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 2/25/16 Ah, Short Slate Thursday. There are a lot of casual players tonight planning to watch the national broadcast on TNT, looking for a little action. If that fits your profile, cool – we’re here to help everybody. For others, it can be a good opportunity for heavy action. Speaking of which, our offshore friends are looking for a lot of scoring in these games. The lowest O/U is 209.5. It’s a little weird though, in that there is not as much blowout risk as you’d think (relatively tight spreads). Player-wise, there are a few guys who look to have huge nights and a lot of lower-end guys with upside, and not so many mid-level values. It’s a good night to pay attention to whether you’re building cash or tourney lineups. Good luck and enjoy! Enjoy, POINT GUARD Shelvin Mack - FD 3700 DK 4100 Opponent - SAS FD Proj. Pts - 24.98 DK Proj. Pts - 26.46 Shelvin has gotten a big opportunity, and he’s producing in a big way. After a 10x Sunday, he went up 20% on DK. He then sank all the way to a 6x. His price went up again, as you’d expect, but it remains a good time to be on board. We’re looking for a solid 6x+ on FD and DK. When a player is projected to go for over 6x (remember, that’s the average expected production) and the minutes are sound, you don’t worry about floors and ceilings. Cash or tourney, play him with confidence and invest the money elsewhere. Donald Sloan - FD 4600 DK...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 2/24/16

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 2/24/16 Busy Wednesday in the Association. I always find that to be good news, especially if I’m looking for some tournament action. Lots of options, which means lots of choices for diversification. I also noticed that our offshore friends have a lot of games projected to be not that close, and about half have a decent (210+) O/U. I think sometimes people read too much into these numbers, but tonight they speak to a couple of things. First, they suggest a good bit of blowout risk. Then again, with the Sixers and Lakers on the same slate, that’s sort of a given. They also indicate there should be a fair amount of up-and-down the court action. Let’s look for some value and upside. If you want to grab a free trial of the winning projections that inform each and every one of these picks, check out our NBA Optimal Lineups, Projections, Player Cards and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel. We've also launched a Stats and Research Page, which includes a lot of the individual statistics that we use to make our projections. It's free! Enjoy, POINT GUARD Warning: There are a LOT of PG options tonight, mostly clustered in the same price range. The following particularly stick out. Mike Conley - FD 6700 DK 6900 Opponent - LAL FD Proj. Pts - 36 DK Proj. Pts - 38.19 With Marc Gasol done for the year, the burden on the next-best Grizzly is only increasing. We aren't fully aware what the impact on their pace may be, but it’s likely to tick up as well (hard not to). Notwithstanding the dud the last time out where he ran awful from the field, he has a high projected floor relative to price.  Playing against the Lakers will do that for a guy as their defense is essentially a bunch of parking cones and folding chairs. Deron Williams - FD 6000 DK 6100 Opponent - OKC FD Proj. Pts...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 2/18/16

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 2/18/16 Welcome back for the first Post-ASB installment of the DFSR daily picks column. Thursday presents a short slate with just three games. All three matchups figure to be relatively low-possession affairs with at least one very-low Pace team in each game (and two of the three featuring a medium-Pace team as well). There are still some hidden value plays, with a couple of low-end punt/tourney play as well. Let’s have at it. If you want to grab a free trial of the winning projections that inform each and every one of these picks, check out our lineup builder and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel and DraftKings. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! POINT GUARD Kyrie Irving - FD 7900 DK 8000 Opponent - CHI FD Proj. Pts - 35.51 DK Proj. Pts - 37.7 Uncle Drew represents the best value at the PG position on a night with limited options. He’s high-end, but not elite from a price-point perspective. The DFSR projections show a high floor and quite a bit of upside. The matchup is also good – the Bulls are near the bottom of the league (26th) in terms of allowing PG fantasy scoring (Defense vs. Position or “DvP”). I’ll roll him out in all formats. Chris Paul - FD 9900 DK 9000 Opponent - SAS FD Proj. Pts - 43.61 DK Proj. Pts - 45.32 On many nights, I’d consider CP3 a luxury pick. Tonight the high price is justifiable, even with a tough matchup against the Spurs (4th in DvP vs PGs). His projected multiple is a 3rd-ranked 4.4x on FD (more on 2nd in bit). On DK, he’s by far the best value play due to his lower price. Hard to pass him up, and you should be able to make the numbers work with bargains a few other places. If your stomach for risk needs feeding, our projection system likes Derrick Rose a lot on FD (he’s the previously-mentioned 2nd-ranked PG). I absolutely refuse to...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 2/11/16

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 2/11/16 Another Thursday, another short slate. I personally like them, but the margin for error can be thin. Other players will see some of the obvious values, so cashing can depend on just a few decisions. Tonight that’s amplified with just two games. The good news is that they both should be good from a fantasy perspective. The Wizards/Bucks game has a decent Over/Under and the line is virtually even. The NOP/OKC matchup has some blowout risk, but a huge O/U. Let’s get to identifying the values and the upside plays that could make for a successful night. If you want to grab a free trial of the winning projections that inform each and every one of these picks, check out our lineup builder and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel and DraftKings. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! POINT GUARD Russell Westbrook - FD 11000 DK 11200 Opponent - NOP FD Proj. Pts - 49.7 DK Proj. Pts - 51.54 Personally, I have a hard time not playing Russ every time he’s on the court. Finding a high-end option that consistently hits value is not easy. In his last 10 games, he’s failed to hit at least 4x exactly once, with outputs between 5x and 6x most nights. He’s even relatively immune to minutes risk. At this level of investment, that’s huge. The system projections seem depressed by blowout risk, and I think there’s upside here. No reason not to go back to the well. Norris Cole - FD 5100 DK 5400 Opponent - OKC FD Proj. Pts - 24.14 DK Proj. Pts - 25.41 Jrue Holiday - FD 7400 DK 6800 Opponent - OKC FD Proj. Pts - 33.09 DK Proj. Pts - 34.61 One place to begin saving a bit is right here. Tyreke Evans is now done for the foreseeable future, so Cole should be locked into starters’ minutes. Add in a fast Pace, plus the fact that OKC is merely average defending the PG position, and Cole...
