PITCHER Madison Bumgarner FD 12000 DK 12900 Opponent - ATL (Blair) Park - @ATL FD - 44.19 DK - 25.54 MadBum is the projection system's runaway choice at pitcher Thursday, regardless of the slate, and figuring out why doesn't require a thorough investigation. Let's start with the Braves, who are terrible. You probably already know that much, but let's dig into the suffering a little. First, they're dead last in everything related to hitting baseballs and they're even worse (if there can be such as thing) against lefties. Last in wOBA, last in wRC+, last in slugging, OBP and ISO. Again, you probably knew that already. But did you know this? Twenty-four (!) major league teams have an OBP against lefties that's higher than the Braves slugging percentage, which sits at a cool .303. See? Terrible. Meanwhile, Bumgarner remains a ace. Yeah, his walks are up a bit, and maybe he's due for some home run regression, but does it really even matter in this one? He's good, Atlanta isn't. Play him everywhere. Wade Miley FD 8300 DK 8900 Opponent - SD (Rea) Park - @SD FD - 34.53 DK - 17.99 The choice is much less obvious tonight. Carlos Carrasco may draw a decent ownership rate, but he's on a pitch limit in his first start off the DL, so we suggest looking elsewhere. And if the Braves are already taken, turning toward whoever is facing the Padres is never a bad idea. That good fortune falls to Miley tonight, and that's the primary factor driving...

What We Know We've got another split slate ahead, with four early games and 11 more tonight. That in-between 6:10 Eastern first pitch in Cleveland could make things tricky for the early slate, as it's all but guaranteed we'll have to guess the lineup before lock, but both slates hold ample opportunities for value. Let's get to it. Personnel April darling Jeremy Hazelbaker will get the start over Randall Grichuk and hit sixth for the Cardinals today. Yoenis Cespedes is getting the day off for the Mets. Juan Lagares will start in CF and is slotted in the No. 6 spot in the order. David Wright remains out with a neck issue, and a DL stint is still possible for the Mets 3B. In the meantime, Ty Kelly is starting at 3B and hitting seventh today. Miguel Sano has been placed on the DL with a hamstring issue. Max Kepler has been recalled to take his spot on the roster. Matt Duffy is expected to return to the Giants lineup tonight after pinch hitting on Tuesday. Cameron Maybin was removed from Tuesday's game with a hand issue. He's considered day-to-day for now. Steve Pearce re-aggravated an elbow injury and was pulled from Tuesday's game. He's expected to sit tonight. Royals rookie Brett Eibner had to be carted off the field Tuesday with an ankle injury. It looks like he'll join a growing list of KC players on the DL. Yasiel Puig was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to a hamstring issue. There's been no update on his status yet today. Brandon Phillips was scratched from Tuesday's lineup and is considered day-to-day with a foot injury. Austin Jackson is sitting again for the White Sox with a toe injury. J.B. Shuck will play CF and bat sixth. Jackie Bradley Jr. is taking paternity leave and was replaced on the roster by Rusney Castillo. Bryce Harper sat Tuesday after getting hit by a pitch on the knee...

Daily Fantasy Baseball News and Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings - 5/31/16 Welcome to the daily MLB updates and news article. What We Know We've got 15 games on tap with a short early slate and nice 12-gamer tonight. In the mix we've got such DFS favorites as Coors Field, Wily Peralta, a couple of aces, and a battle of badness between the corpse of Jake Peavy and Atlanta's own walking dead. Should be fun. Let's get to it. Personnel Speaking of the undead, the Astros have activated Carlos Gomez off the DL. Colin Moran was sent down to make room on the roster. Chris Hermann is getting the start at catcher today for the Diamondbacks as Wellington Castillo get the day off. The Twins have called up Byron Buxton. The erstwhile can't-miss prospect with a 49 percent K-rate in 17 big-league games this season raked in Triple-A with a .336/.403/.603 triple slash since getting demoted. Danny Santana hits the DL in the corresponding move. Steve Pearce was pulled late in Monday's game due to an elbow issue. Keep an eye out for updates before plugging him into your lineups today. Bryce Harper left last night's game after getting hit by a pitch. He's considered day-to-day. Derek Dietrich saw action in last night's game after Miguel Rojas was forced out due to injury. He's obviously cleared to play after taking a foul ball off the head Sunday. Giancarlo Stanton sat again on Monday, but could be nearing a return. Ryan Braun missed his third straight game due to a neck issue on Monday. He's considered day-to-day. Caleb Joseph took a foul ball to the groin Monday and was sent to the hospital after heroically (stupidly?) finishing the game behind the plate. Have to think Matt Wieters gets the call at backstop today. Yunel Escobar missed Monday's game with a wrist injury. Kole Calhoun hit leadoff in his absence. David Wright reported Monday that he has a herniated disc in his neck. The oft-injured 3B is likely headed for a DL stint. Matt Duffy took a pitch off...

What We Know Two short slates is going to make it tough to find meaningful differentiation in tournaments today and at some positions it'll be a challenge to even find a usable dude (good luck finding a SS who's not 30 percent owned in tourneys on the early slate). Luckily, we've got Jose Fernandez and Red Sox to see us through. The lineups are starting to trickle in, so let's get to it. Personnel Josh Harrison is out of the lineup again today due to illness. The good news is that the Pirates lineup shuffle vs. lefty Patrick Corbin has Jordy Mercer batting leadoff. That helps out the SS menu on the early slate quite a bit. Giancarlo Stanton is out of the lineup for the second straight day with rib soreness. Christian Yelich is also sitting again, so Marcel Ozuna is hitting third against LHP Drew Smyly, while Cole Gillespie is manning RF and hitting fifth. Jean Segura is back atop the Diamondbacks lineup after taking a fastball off the helmet on Tuesday. Chris Herrmann is catching and hitting sixth today for Arizona while Wellington Castillo takes a breather. As of this writing, the Blue Jays lineup hasn't been posted yet, but manager John Gibbons has said Devon Travis could be moving to the top of the order soon. Stay tuned. He'd be in a great spot today if he were to hit leadoff today. Troy Tulowitzki sat Wednesday with a quad injury. He's considered day-to-day, so keep an eye out for the Jays lineup, which may or may not surface before lineup lock. Dustin Pedroia was pulled from Wednesday night's game with a hamstring issue, but has said he intends to play tonight. Xander Bogaerts was removed late in Wednesday's game with a thumb injury, but initial indications are he'll be good to go tonight. The Yankees are awaiting MRI results on Mark Teixeira's neck. That might explain his .576 OPS this season. Alex...
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 5/26/16
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 5/26/16 Short slates make for weird DFS. Today we've got an early three-gamer and five-game night slate, and for the second straight day, the pitching heavyweights are slated for the day games. It's these kinds of days (and the presence of Wily Peralta) that lead us to recommend a hitter from the Atlanta lineup. Be careful out there today, folks. Now’s your chance to get DFSR Pro with MLB Optimal Lineups, Projections and Player Cards. Or try a free trial of our base package with projections for every player. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! PITCHER Early Jose Fernandez FD 11000 DK 13200 Opponent - TB (Smyly) Park - @TB FD - 45.83 DK - 26.57 For the second straight day, the split slate is resulting in a pretty wide disparity of pitching riches. Again, the early slate holds the better arms, but even so, the projection system has Fernandez pegged as the go-to guy by a wide margin. He'll be going against the Rays, a surprise source of ample power through the first two months. Less surprising is the fact that they also strike out a ton. In fact, only the Brewers fan more against RHP this year (more on that in a minute). Meanwhile, Fernandez is posting absurd K numbers through nine starts. He's whiffed 31 batters in his last three starts, bringing his season total to 13.08 per 9 IP. While his control has been spotty, his upside in this one is unmatched, especially when you factor in the offense-suppressing properties of Tropicana Field. Play him everywhere today. Late Matt Wisler FD 6500 DK 9100 Opponent - MIL (Peralta) Park - @ATL FD - 31.87 DK - 16.4 Your options are much more limited tonight, but we keep recommending Braves pitchers at home against the Brewers and they keep delivering. Unless you need a win, then not so much. The Atlanta offense is gonna make Ws tough to come by for Braves starters all season, and that stings on sites like FanDuel, where wins are...
