Read on for news updates, as well as recommendations. Personnel Trevor Bauer, who was scheduled to start today was called on to pitch five innings in relief in the Indians' 19-inning win over Toronto yesterday. The Indians have yet to announce a starter for today's game. Steven Souza has been activated from the DL and is expected to start today for the Rays. Taylor Motter has been sent down to make room on the roster. Yasiel Puig was forced to leave last night's game with a shoulder injury, but it's not considered serious and he may not have to miss any time. Brock Holt returned from the DL and went 2-for-4 last night hitting out of the No. 6 hole. Denard Span was scratched from Friday's lineup due to a neck issue. Consider him day-to-day for now. Carlos Beltran was on the bench again last night and will likely remain there with the Yankees in an NL park, as he nurses a hamstring issue. D.J. LeMahieu is expected to return to the Rockies lineup today after missing nearly a week with a knee bruise. Joc Pederson has been placed on the DL with a shoulder injury; Will Venable was recalled to replace him. Yunel Escobar sat again Friday, but is expected to return to the Angels lineup this weekend. Stephen Piscotty was out Friday with a foot injury, but should be back soon. Aledmys Diaz picked up right where he left off before taking a foul ball to the face and missing most of the week. He went 2-for-5 with double in his return last night. Curtis Granderson is expected to miss at least a couple more games as he nurses a calf injury. Hanley Ramirez missed last night's game due to a side injury. Keep...

We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! PITCHER Early Jose Fernandez FD 12000 DK 13800 Opponent - ATL (Norris) Park - @ATL FD - 39.3 DK - 25.59 Nearly every game on the early slate features at least one usable pitcher, but as long as you don't mind spending, Fernandez stands out. It's a rare occasion when we don't feel pretty good about using the Marlins ace, and when he faces one of the worst offenses in baseball, he's a near-automatic choice in cash games. The Braves' struggles vs. LHP is well-known, but they've been nearly as bad against righties. They rank last in MLB in both wRC+ and ISO in the split, and while they don't strike out quite as much as we might like, Fernandez doesn't need much help in that department. He's fanning more than 13 per 9 this season, giving him the kind of upside that's worth paying for on any slate. Consider: Adam Wainwright Late Jake Arrieta FD 11500 DK 13600 Opponent - NYM (Colon) Park - @NYM FD - 40.88 DK - 26.85 Arrieta hasn't been at his best since whiffing 11 Pirates in six innings three starts ago, but we're not scared off by a couple of so-so outings. Even with a walk rate that's coming dangerously close to doubling last year's mark, Arrieta's production has been elite this season. That said, he'll need to recapture his command if he hopes to holding onto that 2.10 ERA through the summer. But at Citi Field, we're not too worried. The Mets went into a serious offensive funk about a month ago and haven't yet climbed out. In June, they ranked 29th in MLB in wRC+,...

Daily Fantasy Baseball News & Updates for FanDuel & DraftKings - 6/29/16 Welcome to the daily MLB updates and news article. What We Know We've got another schizo split slate today, with offense galore expected in the early games and a pair of aces in good spots dominating the attention (and salary allotment) tonight. Let's get to it. Personnel Oswaldo Arcia has been scratched from today's lineup due to illness. Nick Franklin will be playing LF and batting sixth, with Brandon Guyer in RF and hitting fifth for the Rays. Jaff Decker has been sent down to make room for Guyer, who was activated from the DL yesterday. Zack Cozart is sitting today for the Reds. Jose Peraza is getting the start at SS, and Billy Hamilton will hit leadoff. Justin Bour is taking a seat as the Marlins face a lefty today. Chris Johnson is starting at 1B and hitting sixth. Jason Heyward is out today for the Cubs. Corey Dickerson and Logan Morrison are out today for the Rays. Dickerson is nursing a thumb injury, while LoMo is sitting out against LHP David Price. DJ LeMahieu looks like a good bet to return to the lineup today after entering last night as a pinch hitter. Gregory Polanco returned as a DH for the Pirates last night and went 2-for-3 with a double, so it looks like he's shaking off the leg injury that sidelined him for three games. Curtis Granderson didn't return to last night's game after a rain delay, and Mets manager Terry Collins said afterward that he's dealing with a calf strain. Consider him day-to-day until further notice. Joc Pederson is dealing with a shoulder injury after crashing into the outfield wall while tracking down a deep fly off the bat of Chris Carter. He's day-to-day for now. Lorenzo Cain was forced to leave last night's game with a hamstring injury. He's likely to miss some time, and a DL stint is possible. Carlos Beltran left last night's game with a hamstring injury, but an MRI showed no serious damage. Consider him day-to-day. Joe...

Daily Fantasy Baseball News & Updates for FanDuel & DraftKings - 6/28/16 Welcome to the daily MLB updates and news article. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below! START YOUR FREE TRIAL! What We Know We've got a slew of homer-friendly parks, including some tantalizing high-priced bats in Cincinnati and Colorado, as well as a smattering of aces to choose from on tonight's 15-game slate. Let's get to it. Personnel Justin Smoak came in as a pinch hitter last night, making his first appearance since last Wednesday. He may be getting close to a return, but with the Blue Jays in a National League park and Edwin Encarnacion swinging a hot bat, it's far from a guarantee that we'll see him in the starting lineup over the next couple of days. Gregory Polanco was held out again yesterday, but did make an appearance as a pinch hitter. He's considered day-to-day for now. We're awaiting an update on Aledmys Diaz; the Cardinals SS was taken to the hospital Monday night after taking a foul ball off the face. At this point, it would have to be considered a surprise if he's in the lineup tonight. Josh Reddick could be activated from the DL today. He's been out since mid-May with a thumb fracture. Jurickson Profar is expected to draw a start for the Rangers today at 1B. Yunel Escobar sat for the fourth straight game on Monday as he continues to nurse a knee issue. D.J. LeMahieu and Trevor Story were absent from last night's lineup due to knee and finger issues, respectively. Keep an eye out for tonight's lineup, because fill-ins Cristhian Adames and Daniel Descalso could make attractive punt plays on sites where they're cheap. More on that later. Justin Turner was removed from yesterday's game due to a cramp. He's considered day-to-day. Tournament Stacks Chicago Cubs Hot take: Kris Bryant ain't gonna score 81 FanDuel points again tonight. Nevertheless, we like the Cubs pretty much any time they're in Cincinnati, and John Lamb does little to dissuade us. He's turned in solid outings in three of his last five, so take that for whatever it's worth, but he's still...

If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below! START YOUR FREE TRIAL! What We Know We've got a long day of baseball ahead, but this much we already feel certain about: choosing your pitcher today is going to be no fun. We get these days from time to time when a light schedule is further diluted by a split slate, and it usually makes picking the right arm off the trash heap more imperative than ever. We'll help where we can (play Jon Lester!), but don't expect glowing recommendations for anybody among this smorgasbord of sadness. Let's get to it. Personnel Andrew McCutchen and Starling Marte are out today for the Pirates. It's a rest day for the scuffling Cutch, while Marte is nursing a foot injury. Matt Joyce and Sean Rodriguez will fill their spots in the OF and hit fifth and seventh, respectively. Cameron Maybin and Victor Martinez are sitting for the Tigers, hampering an offense that might've been (and still might be) a nice pairing/pivot with your inevitable Red Sox stack. Jared Saltalamacchia is playing 1B with Miguel Cabrera at DH, while Andrew Romine fills in at CF. Brandon Belt is getting a day for the Giants. Buster Posey will be at 1B, while Trevor Brown catches and bats fifth. Yoenis Cespedes injured his wrist on a swing Wednesday night and had to be removed from the game. He's considered day-to-day for now. Travis Shaw is out today after leaving last night's game with a shin issue. Marco Hernandez is playing 3B and hitting ninth, and even he is in play against James Shields if you're looking for a punt. Anthony Rizzo was pulled from Wednesday's game due to back stiffness. Keep an eye out for updates on his status for tonight's game. Joey Votto sat for the second consecutive day due to illness Wednesday. There's been no further update on his status as of this morning. Albert Pujols was out again last night for the Angels as he continues to nurse hamstring and ankle injuries....
