We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! PITCHER Francisco Liriano FD 7900 DK 6800 Opponent - MIL (Garza) Park - @PIT FD - 38.29 DK - 25.26 By now, you already know what the pitching slate looks like tonight. Even if you haven't looked at a schedule or pulled up the slate on a DFS site, you've now seen Francisco Liriano's name at the top of this column, and that's enough. But here's the peculiar thing about this pick: the projection system is actually all in on Liriano today and has him as the top play, regardless of slate, from a raw points perspective. I'm as surprised to have written that sentence as you are to read it, so let's dig in a little. We've talked a lot this year about the Brewers' strikeout tendencies against RHP, but what goes relatively under the radar is that they haven't been much better against lefties, despite their right-handed-heavy lineup. They rank 23rd in wRC+ against southpaws this season and K in 23.5 percent of PAs, and that makes them a fine target against a pitcher with nice strikeout upside, like Liriano. But listen, we can't pretend there isn't some risk here. Any way you slice it, Liriano hasn't been good this year, so this is a bit on the boom-or-bust side. But if he can find the strike zone consistently, Liriano is in a good spot. PNC Park will cushion the effect of the mistakes he makes over the plate, and the Pirates are a nice-sized -175 favorite, which is a huge boost on sites like FanDuel that award big points for wins. If you're still skittish, I get it....

We've got a true split slate today with seven day games (not counting the Braves/Reds or the Cards/Padres makeup game) and seven more on the docket tonight. Let's get to it. Personnel Adam Duvall is sitting today for the Reds. It's apparently just a rest day for the Cincinnati slugger. Anthony Rendon was out again Tuesday due to illness, and it's apparently going around the the Nationals clubhouse, as Stephen Drew was unavailable for the same reason last night. Keep an eye out for updates. Rendon, who previously hadn't missed a game this season, has been out since Saturday. Ketel Marte also missed last night's game due to illness. It's the second straight the Mariners shortstop has missed and he was replaced again by Shawn O'Malley, who was slotted at the top of the order on Tuesday. Looks like we're in the midst of some sort of flu epidemic specific to MLB infielders. Corey Seager also missed last night's game with a stomach virus, and like the rest of those mentioned above, consider him day-to-day for now. Hyun Soo Kim has been placed on the DL with illness. Just kidding. It's the same hamstring injury that's kept him sidelined since before the All-Star break. Jhonny Peralta has been placed on the DL with a thumb injury, and April darling Jeremy Hazelbaker has been recalled to take his roster spot. X-rays came back negative on Matt Wieters' foot, and the Orioles backstop is considered day-to-day for now. Chris Davis missed last night's game due to illness. Not kidding this time. He's missed the last couple of games now and had to be taken to the hospital to receive fluids over the weekend. Mark Teixeira continues to sit with discomfort in his foot, and it's unclear as of now when he'll be ready to return to the Yankees' lineup. The Pirates activated Francisco Cervelli off of the DL...

What We Know We've got a full 15-game slate tonight with a handful of nice pitching options and at least as many offenses in good spots to go off. Let's get to it. Personnel Brandon Phillips' calf injury acted up last night and he had to be removed from the game in the seventh inning. The Reds haven't updated his status yet, but don't be surprised if he's sitting tonight. The Rays have activated Steve Pearce from the DL. Nick Franklin was sent back down in the corresponding move. Matt Wieters was removed from Monday's game after being hit by a pitch and was sent for X-rays on his foot. Stay tuned for updates. Ketel Marte was scratched from last night's lineup due to illness. There's been no word yet on his status for tonight. Jhonny Peralta was out last night due to discomfort in his thumb. He's considered day-to-day for now. Chris Davis was out due to illness last night and is considered day-to-day. Hyun Soo Kim sat for the fourth straight game on Monday as he continues to nurse a hamstring injury. Consider him day-to-day until further notice. Yan Gomes has been placed on the 15-day DL with a shoulder injury. Chris Gimenez and Robert Perez will handle catching duties for the Indians while he's out. Tournament Stacks Colorado Rockies Unlike last night, when it was really tough to discern which side of the Coors game was the chalk, the choice is clear tonight. That doesn't mean the Rays shouldn't be in consideration—Tyler Chatwood doesn't scare us that much—but Tampa Bay has been much less dangerous against righties this year, so Colorado is the chalk play here. Of course, that may be reason to consider fading them in tourneys, but we think you're going to want at least some exposure to the Rockies bats as rookie southpaw Blake Snell makes his first trip to Coors. All the Colorado righties are in play, but...

Nick Castellanos was a late scratch last night due to illness, but is back in the lineup and hitting fifth today. He's hitting leadoff again today, but is not yet available in the player base on FanDuel. Jhonny Peralta was pulled from last night's game after experiencing pain in his thumb. He's considered day-to-day. Brandon Moss has been placed on the DL with an ankle injury. Randall Grichuk was called up to replace him on the roster. Steven Souza was removed from last night's game, but the move was reportedly due to a lack of hustle and not injury-related. Gregor Blanco was a late scratch last night due to a knee issue, but did make an appearance as a pinch hitter. Should make for a fun day of DFS in all formats. Let's get to it. Personnel Kris Bryant won't miss any time after a collision in the outfield on Monday. He's back in the lineup today and playing 3B for the Cubs. Jose Reyes is expected to be activated by the Mets today. He's not yet available on FanDuel, while DraftKings has him at $2.9K. Though he didn't do much in his minor league stint, the Mets have indicated they intend to make him their lead-off hitter at some point. Derek Norris was removed from Monday's game after getting hit on the arm on a Brandon Drury follow-through. X-rays came back negative, but he could be sitting tonight. The Red Sox have sent Christian Vazquez down to the minors with Ryan Hanigan set to come off the DL. Peter O'Brien is returning to Triple-A; the Diamondbacks activated Nick Ahmed off the paternity list in the corresponding move. Pedro Alvarez has been placed on the bereavement list and is expected to miss the next few days. Denard Span is expected to need a DL stint to recover from neck stiffness that's kept him sidelined recently. Ender Inciarte is expected to return to the Braves lineup tonight after sitting over the weekend with a groin injury. Tommy Pham was scratched from the Cardinals lineup Monday due to shoulder soreness and is considered day-to-day for now. Eduardo Escobar is expected to sit through at least Thursday as he nurses a hamstring injury. Tournament Stacks Toronto Blue Jays Even with a few offenses in good spots today, I'd have to guess this is going to be an extremely popular pick, because it's got everything we want: a powerful offense, a good park, and a fly-ball...
