Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 9/1/16   You guys ready to get weird? We've got three whole games tonight, and a fourth for you lunatics who like to live dangerously on the all-day slates. No judgment. This should be fun. Let's go. In case you didn’t notice, we just released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season. You can grab a free 2 WEEK trial to test out yourself. START YOUR FREE 2 WEEK TRIAL!     PITCHER Mike Foltynewicz FD 7000 DK 10000 Opponent - SD (Cosart) Park - @ATL FD - 33.32 DK - 22.01 If you're playing on a site like DraftKings that allows late swaps, or if you're willing to take on the risk that comes with guessing at lineups, we think it might be worth it today to dip into an all-day slate and grab Foltynewicz. Even with a couple of more reputable arms going tonight, we've got him projected as the top scorer among pitchers and he can be had at decent prices. The rub is that he's a better value on FanDuel, but you'll be locked in to your lineup there. DraftKings has him priced up, because, like our algorithm, it sees a nice matchup with San Diego. After a mid-summer spell of competence, the Padres are back to being one of the softer offenses around. The season numbers are mostly meaningless considering the amount of roster turnover they've experienced, but for what it's worth, they're not good. If we drill down to the post-trade deadline stats, the sample is obviously much smaller, but tells the same sad tale. Last in wRC+, last in K%. Foltynewicz is nobody's idea of a sure thing, but the former first-round pick is making strides, albeit in fits and starts. He's flashed K-per-inning upside, and when he's around the plate (only one walk in his last two starts), he's usually not bad. I realize that's a pretty tepid endorsement, but we think he's shown enough to be a nice GPP option in the right matchup, and matchups don't get much better than the Padres right now. Jacob deGrom FD 10000 DK 9000 Opponent - MIA (Urena) Park - @NYM FD - 31.21 DK - 20.78 Notice that DraftKings price? I know, right? Like we've mentioned, the DK pricing system is pretty sharp, but we think that's a bit low, and deGrom should be...

Daily Fantasy Baseball News & Updates for FanDuel & DraftKings - 8/31/16 Welcome to the daily MLB updates and news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock today. By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the batting lineup changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below! START YOUR FREE TRIAL! What We Know It's double-the-fun Wednesday in DFS Land, with a six-game early slate followed by a nine-gamer tonight (excluding the second half of the Dodgers/Rockies doubleheader). We've got a nice mix of pitching options and intriguing offenses on both, so let's get to it. Personnel Miguel Cabrera is taking the day off as the Tigers face Chris Sale and the White Sox today. Jarrod Saltalamacchia will be manning 1B. Cameron Maybin is sitting again as he deals with a thumb issue. JaCoby Jones will play CF and bat seventh. Corey Seager is expected to return to the Dodgers lineup today, but it's unclear if he'll play the early game, the late game or both. Adam Jones was out again last night and remains day-to-day with a hamstring injury. Neil Walker sat again Tuesday with a back injury. Consider him day-to-day for now. Mark Teixeira missed last night's game due to neck spasms and is considered day-to-day. Denard Span left last night's game due to a neck issue. Consider him day-to-day for now. Darwin Barney will be away from the team for the next couple of days for personal reasons. Ryan Goins has been recalled to fill his roster spot. Christian Bethancourt was forced to leave last night's game due to an intercostal strain. There's been no update on his status as of Wednesday morning, but expect him to miss some time. We're proud to introduce a brand new partner (and player in this space), Fantasy Factor! DFSR readers can get a bunch of sweet freebies (including a $5, no strings, no drip bonus) by signing up now!   Tournament Stacks Boston Red Sox Drew Smyly hasn't been terrible lately, but the combo of his proclivity for giving up home runs and the stud righties in the top half of the Boston lineup is just too much for the projection system to overlook. Smyly's problems with the long ball date back to last season, and while he was able to cover...

What We Know After a day dominated by unexpected pitcher's duels, we're back to a full slate with plenty of offenses in good spots again tonight. Let's get to it. Personnel Cameron Maybin left last night's game with a thumb issue. He's expected to get an MRI today and should be considered day-to-day until further notice. Dustin Pedroia missed a second straight game Monday to deal with a personal matter. There's been no word yet on when he's expected to return. Nelson Cruz's status is unclear for tonight, according to Seattle manager Scott Servais. The Mariners slugger appeared to be dealing with some discomfort during his at bats on Monday. Asdrubal Cabrera was held out of Monday's lineup due to a knee issue, but made an appearance as a pinch hitter. He's considered day-to-day. Corey Seager appears to have avoided serious injury after getting hit by a pitch on the wrist last night. X-rays were negative, but he could take tonight off with a lefty on the mound. Colby Rasmus could be activated from the DL today. He's been out since Aug. 4 after having a cyst removed from his ear. Neil Walker sat for the second straight game on Monday due to a back issue. Consider him day-to-day for now. Tournament Stacks   Detroit Tigers We're queuing them up again, despite the recent disappointments in good spots. While we had hoped for better results against James Shields, et. al., there's just no way we can ignore tonight's matchup with Anthony Ranaudo. Because he's awful. Over the course of 74 big-league innings, the 26-year-old righty has walked more guys than he's whiffed and is giving up more than two homers per nine. It's like the projection system created this guy in a lab for the express purpose of stacking against him. Meanwhile, the Tigers remain a potent lineup. Despite an abundance of righties, they rank sixth in MLB in wRC+ in the split, so we're happy to roll...

If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below! START YOUR FREE TRIAL! What We Know It's Thursday, so the slate is on the light side, but there's still plenty to like on tonight's nine-gamer. We've also got a pair of early games on tap, and the lineups are coming in for those, so let's get to it. Personnel Cameron Maybin is getting the day off, with Tyler Collins hitting second in his absence. Rookie phenom Andrew Benitendi is out of the lineup today after leaving last night with a leg injury. He's scheduled to undergo an MRI today. David Ortiz will take the day off. Aaron Hill will land at 3B, with Travis Shaw at 1B and Hanley Ramirez at DH in the corner spot shuffle for the Red Sox. Bryan Holaday is getting the call behind the plate today as Sandy Leon gets a breather. Jay Bruce left last night's game with a calf issue and is considered day-to-day. Nelson Cruz was removed yesterday due to back spasms. His status for tonight remains unclear as of this morning. Kyle Seager missed yesterday's game after fouling a ball off his foot on Tuesday. He could to the lineup as early as tonight. Carlos Gomez is expected to join the Rangers today. We'll have to wait and see if/how they plan to use him, though. Devon Travis sat again last night. He's dealing with a finger injury and is considered day-to-day for now. Tim Beckham will be on the bench today as he continues to deal with a hamstring issue that forced him out of Tuesday's game. Tournament Stacks Toronto Blue Jays If you read the picks column, or if you are in any way familiar with the post-2014 work of Jered Weaver, you probably knew this is where we were going tonight. The positives for the Blue Jays are obvious: Weaver has one of the worst K rates in MLB, gives up nearly 2 HRs/9, the Blue Jays are one of the league's top power-hitting teams, and Rogers Centre is a great place...

Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 8/25/16   Close personal friends of Jered Weaver, be forewarned: It's not looking good for you guys. We've got the Blue Jays projected to do major damage against the soft-tosser tonight in Rogers Centre, while a Seattle stack could shape up nicely, as well. Read on for all of today's position-by-position picks. In case you didn’t notice, on Saturday we released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and Player Lab which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings. It’s a robust set of tools; well beyond anything we’ve ever had and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season. Using tools like these for the NFL season is crucial and you can grab a free 2 WEEK trial to test out yourself. START YOUR FREE 2 WEEK TRIAL!   PITCHER Max Scherzer FD 10900 DK 11600 Opponent - BAL (Jimenez) Park - @WSH FD - 43.45 DK - 28.44 No matter on which side of the matchup you stake your claim, there's always some risk when the Orioles are involved. They've got one of the majors' most power-laden lineups, leading all of baseball in ISO against RHP and overall. But there's also plenty of swing-and-miss here, too, and that's what we're banking on tonight. That, and Scherzer's 11.22 K/9, of course. It also helps that he'll be going up against Ubaldo Jimenez, which is no doubt a big reason why the Nats have opened as a -230 favorite. Despite the fact that Scherzer is coming off a pair of pretty mediocre outings (one of which was in Coors), he's about as steady as they come for fantasy goodness, delivering double-digit K upside and working into the seventh and beyond more often than not. That combo gives him the elite upside we're looking for, and though he gives up his share of dingers, the Ks + IP + win probability means the floor is about as high as you'll find on this slate or any other. Adam Wainwright FD 8400 DK 6900 Opponent - NYM (Lugo) Park - @STL FD - 32.73 DK - 20.98 If you're looking to pivot away from Scherzer to save some cash, Pomeranz is probably the place you should turn on one-pitcher sites (assuming you're an all-day kinda guy/gal). But for your SP2 needs, Wainwright looks like a great value on DraftKings today. Nobody's mistaking him for the ace he used to be, but his 2016 line isn't that far out of whack. Yeah, he's nibbling a bit more and as a result giving up more walks than he...
