What We Know Personnel Carlos Correa has a sprained shoulder and is expected to miss at least a day or two. Evan Gattis is also getting the day off, and Yulieski Gurriel will be elevated to the cleanup spot in the resulting lineup shuffle. Charlie Blackmon was on the bench again last night, but did make an appearance as a pinch hitter. He should be getting closer to a return after missing the last five days due to back soreness. Maikel Franco was out last night with a thumb issue and is considered day-to-day going foward. Gerardo Parra was removed from last night's game due to a hamstring issue. Consider him day-to-day for now. Matt Duffy has officially been shut down for the remainder of the season as he will undergo surgery on his Achilles. We're proud to introduce a brand new partner (and player in this space), Fantasy Factor! DFSR readers can get a bunch of sweet freebies (including a $5, no strings, no drip bonus) by signing up now! Tournament Stacks Washington Nationals The drawback here is that stacking the Nats is probably going to be extremely popular tonight. For one, they've got the highest projected total in Vegas, which is usually a good indicator of ownership. They've also got a matchup with Alec Asher, who might be the worst pitcher on a slate full of average arms. We haven't seen Asher in the bigs since he got pummeled for a 5.66 xFIP and a 9.31 ERA in seven starts last year, and he hasn't done much in the intervening months to boost his stock, striking out about 6 guys per nine in Double-A and Triple-A in 2016. He has a history of home run issues in the minors, but we're willing to cut him some slack there, since much of that came in...
Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 9/8/16
Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 9/8/16 The week of weird slates rolls on, as apparently somebody in the MLB scheduling department is actively trying to push fans toward the oncoming NFL season. Including the one early start, we've got seven games today, and not a reliable pitcher in sight. So grab a dartboard and let's get started. In case you didn’t notice, we just released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season. You can grab a free trial to test out yourself. START YOUR FREE TRIAL! PITCHER Trevor Bauer FD 8800 DK 7900 Opponent - HOU (Paulino) Park - @CLE FD - 34.4 DK - 22.48 Some slates give us a who's who of MLB pitching. Today is more like a "who's that?" We like Bauer's upside against the K-prone Astros (third-highest K% in MLB vs. RHP), but on a better slate, he'd be little more than a GPP flyer. And even though he's projected for the most points among today's starters by more than 10 percent over the field, the variance in his game log suggests that's probably the best format for him on any slate. In other words, cash games are going to be tough today. Bauer's biggest issue is his command, and even though his walk rate in 2016 is the best of his career, 3.42 per 9 is nothing to get all that excited about. He would also appear to be a candidate for home run regression, which is why his xFIP (4.22) is half a run higher than his ERA (3.70). But in more than 500 career innings, he's demonstrated the ability to keep fly balls in the yard, so we're not as concerned on that front. So what we've got is a guy with double-digit K upside who typically works pretty deep into games, but who can also get blown up by a powerful lineup like the Astros. That's fine for a big tournament, but when it's your top overall option, it's a strong indication that the pickings are slim. Jaime Garcia FD 8800 DK 9400 Opponent - MIL (Guerra) Park - @STL FD - 30.9 DK - 20.64 Garcia's our favorite guy going tonight, but that's more a product of the Brewers' capacity for swinging and missing than an endorsement of his own so-so stuff. Garcia's not terrible. He misses enough bats to make him usable in...

Daily Fantasy Baseball News & Updates for FanDuel & DraftKings - 9/7/16 Welcome to the daily MLB updates and news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it! Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock today. By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the batting lineup changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below! START YOUR FREE TRIAL! What We Know Personnel Zack Cozart is sitting today. Jose Peraza will be at SS and batting leadoff as the Reds take on Noah Syndergaard. The Marlins surprisingly activated injured slugger Giancarlo Stanton off the DL yesterday, and he made an appearance as a pinch hitter. It's unclear when he'll return to the starting lineup, so keep a close eye out for Marlins news over the next couple of days. Robinson Cano left late in Tuesday's game after fouling a ball off his foot. He's considered day-to-day. Yoan Moncada will get the night off after struggling in his first exposure to big-league pitching. Ian Kinsler is expected to be out again today with a finger injury. Erik Aybar was on the bench again last night as he continues to deal with abdominal soreness, but eventually entered the game as a pinch hitter. He's still day-to-day for now, and there's no guarantee that we'll see the Tigers lineup before the early slate gets underway today. Trevor Plouffe sustained an oblique injury late in last night's game and could miss some time. Salvador Perez suffered a wrist injury after getting hit with a pitch last night. X-rays came back negative, but he's considered day-to-day until further notice. Chris Davis left last night's game with an apparent injury. There's been no update on his status as of this morning, so consider him day-to-day. Marcel Ozuna, who has missed the last week with a wrist injury, could make his return to the lineup tonight. We're proud to introduce a brand new partner (and player in this space), Fantasy Factor! DFSR readers can get a bunch of sweet freebies (including a $5, no strings, no drip bonus) by signing up now! Tournament Stacks Colorado Rockies Hey, I get it. The last few days have been pretty rough for those of us adhering to the math and stacking Rockies. But we're not going to deviate from the plan with Albert Suarez taking...

If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below! START YOUR FREE TRIAL! What We Know Personnel Stephen Piscotty was forced out of last night's game after taking a pitch off the wrist, but X-rays came back negative. Consider him day-to-day for now. Billy Hamilton is expected to miss the next week or so before his oblique injury is re-evaluated. Evan Longoria left yesterday's game with a hand soreness after getting hit by a pitch. Consider him day-to-day. The Twins have recalled 1B/DH Kennys Vargas. The 26-year-old should get ample opportunities as Minnesota plays out the stretch. Former first-rounder Gavin Cecchini has been called up by the Mets. The 22-year-old shortstop posted a .325/.390/.448 triple slash in the Pacific Coast League this season. Rookie Brandon Nimmo is also back up with the Mets now that the Triple-A affliliate has completed its season. Jon Jay, who has been sidelined since June with a forearm injury, is expected to rejoin the Padres today. Matt Duffy is expected to miss the remainder of the season to undergo surgery on his Achilles. Justin Bour, who has been out since early July, is expected to be activated by the Marlins soon. It's unclear if he'll make an immediate return to the starting lineup, however. Francisco Cervelli left last night's game with a thumb issue. He's considered day-to-day. Nori Aoki is expected to be recalled by the Mariners today. In news of arguably equal importance, I'm thinking about mowing my yard later. We're proud to introduce a brand new partner (and player in this space), Fantasy Factor! DFSR readers can get a bunch of sweet freebies (including a $5, no strings, no drip bonus) by signing up now! Tournament Stacks Colorado Rockies The Rockies haven't made big noise since Friday's 14-run outburst, but we're not fading them tonight. Jeff Samardzija is in his second straight season with below league-average output, including a K rate below 7 per 9 and an xFIP north of 4.00. He's been better lately, with the improved results correlating strongly to his...

Grab a barf bag and let's get started. Personnel It's sounding like Neil Walker will undergo surgery and miss the remainder of the season after being diagnosed with a herniated disc in his back on Wednesday. Marcel Ozuna left last night's game with a wrist issue and is considered questionable for tonight. Robbie Grossman sat for the second straight game last night due to an oblique issue. He was available to pinch hit, however, and could return to the lineup any day. Michael Conforto is expected to recalled today as the MLB rosters expand. A.J. Pierzynski has been activated from the DL, but he'll be on the bench today. Anthony Recker is starting behind the dish and hitting sixth. Danny Santana will miss the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury. Byron Buxton is back up with the Twins after another strong showing in Triple-A. Of course, we've seen this before and it's yet to translate into Major League results. Nonetheless, look for Minnesota to give the prized prospect plenty of chances to get it figured out at the big-league level down the stretch. We're proud to introduce a brand new partner (and player in this space), Fantasy Factor! DFSR readers can get a bunch of sweet freebies (including a $5, no strings, no drip bonus) by signing up now! Tournament Stacks Chicago Cubs Looks like the wind is going to be blowing in, which will probably put a significant damper on the fun at Wrigley tonight, but this is the best lineup on the slate by a good margin, so the projection system is loading up with Cubs almost by default. Also, Jeff Samardzija isn't that good. His K rate is well below league average and his xFIP is over 4.00 for the second straight year. And it's worth remembering that he's made half of his starts this season in one of the majors' best...
