Point Guard/ Shooting Guard
Dejounte Murray FD - $10400 DK - $9900
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 54.15 DK - 57.13
There is going to be a lot of savings on this slate with some of these teams in full-on tank mode. That means spending up at guard will be pretty easy. The Hawks can clinch the play-in with a win tonight and there’s a world where they are still fighting for the 9th seed which would make at least a little difference. Jalen Johnson is back which does take a few shots off the board, but it’s still tough to fade Dejounte Murray as long as he’s running the show.
Foul trouble buzzed off the minutes last game, but he should be in the 40-ish range as long as the game stays moderately close. The Pistons are one of the best matchups on the board.
Anthony Edwards FD - $9300 DK - $9400
Opponent - TOR
Proj Pts FD - 48.57 DK - 52.28
The Timberwolves also draw a great matchup against the no-defense Toronto Raptors and are big favorites in this game. Unlike some of the other guards, Anthony Edwards is a bit more dependent on his scoring output, which makes him a bit riskier. But the matchup is elite, the Timberwolves are double-digit favorites in the game, and the floor should be high enough at these price points. His scoring is down over the last four games thanks, in part, to shooting 1-24 from three in that stretch. That simply won’t last.
Damian Lillard FD - $9000 DK - $8800
Opponent - MEM
Proj Pts FD - 47.97 DK - 51.91
After losing last night, it does look like Damian Lillard will be back for the Bucks, with the possibility that Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton could sit out for rest. Even with Lillard working his way back from injury if he was running the show then the price isn’t enough to really worry about. He’s two games removed from taking 29 shots in the double-overtime loss to the Lakers. And over the last month, he’s averaging 19 shots, 24.5 points, and 8.4 assists per game with the Bucks at relatively full strength. We will have to wait on news for this one.
Strongly consider Tre Mann (FD 5400 DK 5500) with the Hornets down a lot of bodies.
Small Forward
Brandon Miller FD - $6900 DK - $6800
Opponent - POR
Proj Pts FD - 40.69 DK - 43.46
The Hornets and Blazers are locked in a tank-off this game with both teams sitting almost anyone of consequence. Miles Bridges is doubtful as of this writing while Vasilije Micic and Nick Richards are both out. It could mean a ton of shots for Brandon Miller who has been playing a bunch of minutes is games that are even relatively close.
He’s taken 18+ shots in four of his last seven games with 19+ points in five of his last eight. The rebounds and assists get there enough and one would think the ball will be in his hands much more this game.
There are a ton of guys in the power forward tier which we will get to in a second. After Miller, I do think there’s a case to spend up for LeBron James (FD 10300 DK 10200) facing off against the Wizards. He’s on the back-to-back which is concerning, but you also start running out of places to spend.
Power Forward/ Center
Grant Williams FD - $5500 DK - $5100
Opponent - POR
Proj Pts FD - 32.36 DK - 35.05
Aleksej Pokusevski FD - $4200 DK - $3900
Opponent - POR
Proj Pts FD - 31.5 DK - 32.19
Davis Bertans FD - $4200 DK - $3600
Opponent - POR
Proj Pts FD - 27.2 DK - 29.2
These three guys should all be in the starting lineup tonight for the Hornets, and it could make sense to stack the whole group, considering the minutes and shots available. All are coming so cheap that fitting them helps spend up everywhere else in the lineup. From a fantasy perspective, both Aleksej Pokusevski and Davis Bertans could easily crush these prices if the minutes get into the mid-30s. Grant Williams is probably a bit closer, but again, there is just so much to go around with this team right now.
Jabari Walker FD - $4800 DK - $4900
Opponent - CHA
Proj Pts FD - 34.85 DK - 37.39
Jabari Walker played 40 minutes last game, totalling 18 points, nine rebounds, and five assists in that stretch. His price hasn’t moved nearly enough for this price point and the Blazers are still down a ton of guys. They, like the Hornets, are actively trying to lose this one but their prices have corrected a bit more because they’ve been tanking for a bit now. That being said Walker is cheap enough for his current role even factoring in DeAndre Ayton being in the lineup.
Tristan Vukcevic FD - $3600 DK - $3000
Opponent - LAL
Proj Pts FD - 23.78 DK - 25.52
Tristan Vukcevic should get the start here against the Lakers with both Marvin Bagley III and Richaun Holmes out of the lineup for the Wizards. Blowout and foul trouble are a concern here, but he’s coming at the minimum on both sites making it a pretty easy click. He went for 14 points and seven rebounds in 31 minutes filling in for the injured Bagley on Tuesday.
