Point Guard/ Shooting Guard
Immanuel Quickley FD - $8500 DK - $8600
Opponent - ORL
Proj Pts FD - 43.2 DK - 47.26
The Raptors are still without RJ Barrett for this game, and of course, Scottie Barnes is basically out for the rest of the season. Immanuel Quickley should see a steady diet of on-ball time and the results have been fantastic with him in a lead ball handler role. He’s taken 21 and 19 shots over the last two games, averaging 21 points and 10 assists over his last six games. This is a pretty easy play even in a tougher matchup against the Orlando Magic on Friday.
Bones Hyland FD - $4100 DK - $4300
Opponent - NO
Proj Pts FD - 26.45 DK - 29.37
James Harden looks like he’s going to sit out again on Friday after missing Thursday’s game against the Bulls with Bones Hyland getting the start. The latter was chalk on both sites, crushing his projection in a big way with 17 points, 11 assists, and four steals. The shooting was a little run hot (6-9 FG, 4-7 3PT), but the 32 minutes are encouraging. They should be there again for him tonight. This is an easy play considering the price didn’t really move.
Gradey Dick FD - $5300 DK - $5200
Opponent - ORL
Proj Pts FD - 25.75 DK - 28.4
If Gary Trent remains out, I think we are still getting moderate value on Gradey Dick here who has been starting, running 30+ minutes in each of the last four games. During that time, he’s putting up 11.5 points on double-digit attempts per game. He needs to knock down threes to really hit a ceiling, but that is for sure in his range of outcomes.
Small Forward
Paul George FD - $8200 DK - $8000
Opponent - NO
Proj Pts FD - 44.17 DK - 47.69
As with Bones Hyland, it looks like James Harden could sit out again, meaning Paul George would see a usage spike. Now, that didn’t totally come to fruition on Thursday, putting up just 12 shots in 35 minutes. He did make 11 of them, scorching from the field.
It’s a back-to-back, so this situation is a bit dicey, though PG is projected to play, and Kawhi Leonard is currently probable. I’m fine going back to Paul George in cash for this game, though the matchup isn’t amazing.
Jimmy Butler FD - $8700 DK - $8400
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 42.34 DK - 43.87
Jimmy Butler is averaging 37 minutes per game over his seven, one of the longest big run minutes stretches of his career in the regular season. It’s a really encouraging sign for the prospects of playing him in cash games. Here against the Pistons, he’ll face the fourth-worst defense in the league. Plus, over the last couple of weeks, Butler is averaging 22.5 points, 5.7 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks+ steals. The floor is plenty high and the price doesn’t break the bank.
Power Forward/ Center
Nikola Jokic FD - $12000 DK - $11800
Opponent - SA
Proj Pts FD - 60.93 DK - 64.39
All eyes are going to be on this game, Nikola Jokic against Victor Wembanyama is all you need to know. When these two teams played back in November, Jokic took 29 shots, going for 39 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists. It was utter domination by Jokic who admittedly is dominant every single night.
The Spurs are the seventh-worst defensive efficiency team in the league, giving it up nightly. Jokicis expensive on a night where there is upper-middle-tier value, but the floor is as high as anyone in the NBA (ever).
Kelly Olynyk FD - $7400 DK - $7000
Opponent - ORL
Proj Pts FD - 37.23 DK - 39.75
Kelly Olynyk is still starting at center for the Raptors, coming off a solid stretch of games in that role. In that time, he’s averaging 19 points, six rebounds and six assists. The minutes don’t spike into the mid-30s like we might have hoped here, but the floor is still very high. And one would think the run is very safe considering the Magic run big across the board.
DraftKings Note: The slates are a bit different on the sites tonight with DraftKings offering Non-Late Swap options that include the Atlanta Hawks-Utah Jazz game. The latter has a lot of injuries with Jordan Clarkson out and Lauri Markkanen already on the shelf. That’s going to make Collin Sexton (DK 7300), Keyonte George (DK 6600), and John Collins (DK 7100) value plays.
