Pitchers
Hunter Brown FD 10000 DK 10500
Opponent - WSH (Patrick Corbin) Park - WSH
FD - 40.45 DK - 21.94M
Let's kick things off with a big gun, shall we? We've got Houston's Hunter Brown on our radar. Why? Well, he's been absolutely lighting it up on the mound, with a solid 3.69 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP over 68 innings. Not to mention his 79 strikeouts. And guess who he's up against? That's right, it's Washington's Patrick Corbin, who's been struggling with a 4.89 ERA and a .713 OPS. With Brown's Astros being a huge moneyline favorite at -277, he's worth the price. Buckle up, because Brown is ready to rock it!
Max Scherzer FD 9400 DK 9800
Opponent - NYY (Luis Severino) Park - NYY
FD - 39.05 DK - 21.94
Sure Scherzer is up against the New York Yankees, and that might make some folks nervous. But hey, it's Max Scherzer we're talking about and sometimes talent just wins out. He's been much better of late over his last few starts. And over his last 53 innings pitched, he's racked up a decent 3.71 ERA, 58 strikeouts, and a 1.18 WHIP. And don't forget, he's got a Moneyline of -155, showing some solid faith in his performance. Plus, the opposing pitcher, Luis Severino, has been dealing with a 5.75 ERA. So even though it's a tough matchup, Max Scherzer might just be worth taking the risk.
Tony Gonsolin FD 8100 DK 8200
Opponent - CHW (Lance Lynn) Park - CHW
FD - 33.75 DK - 17.64
Tony Gonsolin of the LA Dodgers is another interesting pitcher for consideration. He may not have the highest strikeout rate, but he does have some appealing factors. Gonsolin has displayed impressive control recently with an ERA of just 2.21 over his last 40 innings pitched and a WHIP of 0.98. In terms of betting odds, his -222 Moneyline is also worth noting. His opponent, Lance Lynn of the White Sox, is currently struggling with a 6.72 ERA, giving Gonsolin a favorable matchup. Even though he's not your typical strikeout artist, Gonsolin could offer solid value against the White Sox.
First Base
José Abreu FD 2600 DK 2900
Opponent - WSH (Patrick Corbin) Park - WSH
FD - 11.66 DK - 8.84
We've got a noteworthy opportunity here with José Abreu. He's set to hit 5th against left-handed pitcher Patrick Corbin of the Nationals. Abreu's numbers against lefties are encouraging, as his 2022 stats show an OPS of .865 and a wOBA of .381 against left-handed pitching. Furthermore, with Yordan Alvarez sidelined, Abreu will likely get more at-bats, which can translate into more opportunities for fantasy points. Despite a slower start to 2023, his significantly lower salary on both FanDuel and DraftKings is quite appealing. Keep an eye on Abreu; he could provide a solid return on investment today.
Second Base
Jose Altuve FD 3700 DK 4600
Opponent - WSH (Patrick Corbin) Park - WSH
FD - 13.7 DK - 10.46
Mauricio Dubón FD 2900 DK 3500
Opponent - WSH (Patrick Corbin) Park - WSH
FD - 11.29 DK - 8.72
Astros' Mauricio Dubón and José Altuve present an interesting top-of-the-lineup duo for tonight's game against the Nationals. They're set to hit 1st and 2nd respectively, offering us a fantastic opportunity for back-to-back production.
Dubón, although having a slower start to 2023, has shown a reasonable OBP of .326, and his salary makes him an attractive option. He put up a .765 OPS against lefties last season, which is encouraging as he's up against left-handed pitcher Patrick Corbin.
José Altuve, on the other hand, is a seasoned veteran with impressive numbers. With an OPS of .791 so far in 2023 and a whopping 1.086 OPS against left-handed pitching in 2022, he's poised to make some serious damage. While he comes at a higher price, his track record speaks for itself.
Given Corbin's ERA of 4.89 and the Astros' strong implied run total of 5.4, this top-of-the-order pair is worth considering for your lineup, especially in a stacking strategy.
Shortstop
Bobby Witt Jr. FD 3300 DK 5600
Opponent - CIN (Brandon Williamson) Park - CIN
FD - 12.25 DK - 9.48
Bobby Witt Jr., the speedy shortstop for the Kansas City Royals, presents an exciting opportunity for tonight's game against the Cincinnati Reds. Priced more affordably on FanDuel, he offers a unique combination of power and speed that can contribute to your DFS performance in a multitude of ways.
Even though his OPS against left-handed pitching in 2022 was not elite (.718), he has already notched 10 home runs and stolen an impressive 21 bases in 2023. With an opposing pitcher in Brandon Williamson who is nursing a 5.4 ERA and averaging 7.09 strikeouts per nine innings, Witt could be primed for a big night.
Set to hit 4th in the lineup with an implied run total of 5.11, Witt's potential for RBIs is enticing. Given the strong overall spot the Royals are in tonight, Witt Jr. could provide good value, especially considering his potential for both power and speed.
Strongly consider Christian Arroyo (FD $2200 DK $2700) hitting a bit lower in the Red Sox lineup.
Third Base
Rafael Devers FD 3700 DK 5600
Opponent - COL (Chase Anderson) Park - COL
FD - 14.99 DK - 11.35
Rafael Devers, the Red Sox's standout third baseman, is positioned for a strong performance in tonight's game against the Colorado Rockies. The Red Sox are one of the offenses to target, and Devers is a crucial part of that powerful lineup.
Set to face right-handed pitcher Chase Anderson, Devers has a compelling history against righties, boasting a hefty .931 OPS in 2022. His performance in 2023, with 15 home runs and 52 RBIs, attests to his capacity for making high-impact plays.
Devers is expected to hit 4th in the lineup with an implied run total of 5.78, placing him in an excellent spot for run production. Anderson, with a strikeout per 9 innings rate of 5.34 and an ERA of 2.25, doesn't pose a daunting challenge for Devers.
Priced at $3700 on FanDuel and $5600 on DraftKings, Devers is a strong pick that could bring significant value to your lineup, especially considering the Red Sox's advantageous offensive position in Tuesday's game.
Alex Bregman (FD $3100 DK $4600) is another strong consideration for stacking especially with the Astros in such a great spot.
Outfield
Kyle Tucker FD 3400 DK 5000
Opponent - WSH (Patrick Corbin) Park - WSH
FD - 14.1 DK - 10.72
The Astros are the clear team to stack tonight, with Kyle Tucker leading the charge. Set to face left-hander Patrick Corbin, Tucker, hitting 4th, provides significant upside with his power-speed combo (8 HR, 10 SB in 2023). His impressive .774 OPS and .335 wOBA add to his appeal. Given the Astros' potent lineup and Corbin's struggles (4.89 ERA), Tucker offers a high-ceiling option to anchor your Astros stack.
Jarren Duran FD 2900 DK 3600
Opponent - COL (Chase Anderson) Park - COL
FD - 13.34 DK - 10.33
Jarren Duran, leading off for the Red Sox, presents an excellent DFS option for tonight's game against the Rockies. With his blend of speed (8 SB in 2023) and power (3 HR), he could be a factor on both sides of the ball. Despite the middling OPS against right-handed pitchers in 2022, Duran's .772 OPS and .333 wOBA in 2023 suggest he's turned a corner. Facing Chase Anderson, who owns a modest 5.34 K/9, Duran stands a good chance of reaching base and making an impact.
Masataka Yoshida FD 3600 DK 5400
Opponent - COL (Chase Anderson) Park - COL
FD - 14.06 DK - 10.66
Masataka Yoshida has been an impressive addition to the Boston Red Sox lineup in his debut major league season. Expected to hit third in the lineup, Yoshida is a tantalizing prospect in today's matchup against Chase Anderson of the Rockies. With a lofty OBP of .377, an OPS of .846, and a wOBA of .369 in 2023, he has shown a consistent ability to get on base and drive in runs (33 RBIs and 7 HRs to date). Furthermore, his combination of power, plate discipline (9.7% walk rate), and contact (a robust .316 BABIP) makes him a potential DFS standout for today's slate. Facing a righty pitcher with a mediocre 5.34 K/9 only sweetens the deal. Expect big things from Yoshida today.
