Point Guard
Tyrese Maxey FD - $8100 DK - $7400
Opponent - SAC
Proj Pts FD - 35.13 DK - 37.42
Between players returning and below-average matchups, I am not at all into paying up at the point guard spot which has me taking a more balanced approach to the position. That starts with Tyrese Maxey who, partially due to Ben Simmons being out, has taken on a much larger role in his second year and has flourished with an offensive rating(124.9) well above average and has seen an uptick in usage averaging three more shots per game over the last week. He and the 76ers get a plus matchup tonight vs. the Kings who are one of four teams to rank bottom 12 in defensive efficiency and Top 10 in pace. A great matchup and overall situation put Maxey on my radar in all formats.
Patty Mills FD - $4500 DK - $4500
Opponent - CLE
Proj Pts FD - 27.23 DK - 30.2
For value, the system still loves Patty Mills who has played 30+ minutes in four straight games and started in each of his last three. The volume has also been on the rise as he has attempted 14 and 13 shots in the last two games and has been red-hot making 59% of them. He doesn't add much in terms of secondary stats nor is this a great matchup but the price is still low enough where a 5x floor is very attainable and still leaves room for upside. Mills is in play in all formats.
Shooting Guard
Donovan Mitchell FD - $8300 DK - $8500
Opponent - MEM
Proj Pts FD - 45.45 DK - 48.48
There is a slight chance this game turns into a blowout but it's hard to ignore this spot for Mitchell who is one of the best two-way players in the game. He comes into tonight with the fourth-highest usage(33.7%) in the league and is contributing consistent secondary scoring averaging over rebounds and assists per game with nearly two steals per game, as well. Then you add an elite matchup vs. the Griz who rank dead last in defensive efficiency while running the 11th fastest pace and you have an elite play in all formats.
Kevin Huerter FD - $4400 DK - $4200
Opponent - OKC
Proj Pts FD - 26.19 DK - 29.07
The system has been high on Huerter from a PTS/$ perspective for a little over a week which does correlate with his uptick in minutes and jump into the starting lineup. Outside of leaving early in the Orlando game last Monday, he has played 30+ minutes in five of his last six and gets an even bigger boost if Bogdan was to be out(currently questionable). The price is only going up slightly and he is coming off two excellent starts highlighted by his deep ball dropping 9 of 14 from behind the arc. At his current price and situation, we have him at a 6x+ PTS.$ projection on both sites which is more than enough to put him in 100% of lineups.
Small Forward
Jayson Tatum FD - $10000 DK - $10100
Opponent - HOU
Proj Pts FD - 48.95 DK - 52.14
It looks like Jaylen Brown will make his return to the court tonight but after being out three weeks, I don't project a full run which still makes Jason Tatum relevant. He has been tremendous in Brown's absence averaging 28.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and over 50 fantasy points per game. There is some risk here with the Celtics sitting as double-digit favorites but small forward itself is a mess which puts Tatum right near the top of the list if paying up at the position tonight.
Josh Hart FD - $5300 DK - $5500
Opponent - MIN
Proj Pts FD - 32 DK - 34.67
If looking to go the value route at the position, our system loves Josh Hart once again and is somewhat overlooking the complete dud on Saturday against the Pacers. While the volume and scoring has been inconsistent, he had provided some very consistent secondary fantasy scoring with an average of 6.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists in the nine games before Saturday's dud which easily got him 5x returns at these prices. While Minnesota ranks 11th in defensive efficiency, this is an up-pace game for the Pels and is expected to stay close(NO+2) so Hart should get a full run putting him in the conversation in all formats.
Power Forward/Center
Tobias Harris FD - $7500 DK - $8100
Opponent - SAC
Proj Pts FD - 42.82 DK - 46.26
The system absolutely loves Harris tonight and it's not hard to see why. Take out the embarrassing blowout loss against Utah and Harris has been terrific since his return from the Covvid list averaging 24 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and over 41 fantasy points per game. He now gets an elite matchup against the Kings who rank 23rd in defensive efficiency and 6th in pace. Fire up Harris in all formats.
Deandre Ayton FD - $7700 DK - $7100
Opponent - SA
Proj Pts FD - 41.53 DK - 43.48
I don't say it often, but Ayton has to be the easiest play on this slate tonight as he checks every single box. It starts with his form as he is averaging 17.5 points and 12.5 rebounds over four games since his return from injury and that includes a blowout against Denver where he was limited to 26 minutes. He now faces a Spurs team that is mid-pack in defensive efficiency but running the third-fastest pace in the league and better yet rank 27th in rebounding. This is a smash spot for Ayton making him an elite play in all formats.
Jae'Sean Tate FD - $5600 DK - $5200
Opponent - BOS
Proj Pts FD - 28.79 DK - 30.96
It is a bit risky rostering Houston players with their being a chance for a blowout but if I was choosing just one who gave us the most PTS/$ safety, it would be Tate. Over his last 10 games, he has been very consistent averaging 30 minutes, 13.4 points, and 7.4 rebounds which has put him at or over 5x return in nine of his last 10 games. It is extremely tough to find that kind of consistency and the best part is his price never really moves outside the low to mid $5K range making him one of my top PTS/$ plays on this slate for cash games.
