What We Know
Chris Paul, John Collins, Dwight Howard, Brandon Ingram, Rajon Rondo, Harrison Barnes, James Johnson, Bogdan Bogdanovic, DeMarre Carroll, Dion Waiters, Denzel Valentine, and Kevin Knox will all remain out
Outside of the LA brawlers, these guys have been out all year and we'll continue to wait for their debut. We already know what to expect in each of these spots.
Kris Dunn has been ruled out for the next 4-6 weeks with an MCL sprain
Tough break after Dunn came back for his first game of the season last time out. He's a huge part of the offense and his absence will leave a lot of opportunity up for grabs. At point guard, Cameron Payne and Ryan Arcidiacono will both get some minutes. I love Payne as a pure punt at near-minimum price. Zach LaVine has also stepped up and looks like an absolute stuf to start the year. He's been at 40 fantasy points in each of the last 3 games and I don't think Charlotte is the team to slow him down. Justin Holiday is also cheap and will grab 30 minutes in a fast-paced match-up.
What We're Waiting to Know
Andrew Wiggins is a game-time decision
Wiggins is kind of a big piece of the offense, but I think this team is just as good without him. He has a ton of talent, but is rarely a better guy to shoot the ball than Butler or Towns. I'll have it in their hands all night. With Kawhi sticking Butler, I'll lean on Towns to have the bigger night. Josh Okogie could also pick up some run and he's cheap enough to deserve a little bit of consideration.
Ben Simmons is questionable to play vs the Bucks, but intends to play
With him missing last night and now practice two days in a row, I expect Simmons to be fully healthy if they're letting him play. If Simmons sits, the Sixers will be forced to play the same hand as last night. McConnell, Redick, Saric, Covington, and Embiid all had big nights and would be in line for similar minutes. However, the Bucks are a tougher match-up and I could see a guy like Fultz, who played just 20 minutes last night, given the go for 30+. It is a back to back and I doubt the Sixers are looking to tire anyone out in October. I still love Embiid as a superstar and he always has a 40 point floor in this match-up against no real bigs. All in all, Simmons is a solid play if he plays, but this offense isn't one I need exposure to.
Every Lineup Guys
Kevin Love FD - $8500 DK - $8800
Opponent - BKN
Proj Pts FD - 49.03 DK - 52.31
Kevin Love is looking a lot like that guy who was traded for Andrew Wiggins and thought of as a clear top 5 big. He was putting up 20/10 every night and average 23/14 for two years. He once again has the reigns to an offense and is putting up 40+ fantasy points even when severely struggling. He's still hitting value while ice cold from the field and now has the perfect match-up to get right. The Brooklyn Nets still play fast and don't have any idea what defense is. This game is sitting at a 227 over/under with the Cavs favored by just 3, so it'll stay close and certainly be high-scoring. Love is cheap on both sites and I'll have him in every single lineup across the board.
Luka Doncic FD - $8300 DK - $7100
Opponent - ATL
Proj Pts FD - 39.38 DK - 40.27
Even with some crazy west coast games tonight, this Mavs vs. Hawks match-up has the 2nd highest over/under on the board. It's currently sitting at 236 and the Mavs are favored by just 1.5 points. Luka Doncic has been awesome to start the year and has put up 30+ fantasy points in each of the last two contests. The Hawks have a bottom 5 defense and he will have his way on the perimeter. He's way cheaper on DK and I'll have him in every lineup over there. He hasn't shown the crazy upside, but we know it's there and this is his best shot yet to let it shine.
