Pitchers
Clayton Kershaw FD 12000 DK 13300
Opponent - COL (Gray) Park - @LAD
FD - 47.82 DK - 27.38
I mentioned in the main article how it is tough to trust a pitcher who is coming off a 70 pitch limit in his return from an injury last time out. While this holds true for cash games, I will most definitely be taking a shot with Kershaw in GPP's tonight. He looked as dominant as ever in his return holding the Padres to just two hits while striking out seven and walking none. It helped bring his already league leading EAR down to 1.95 for the season to go with an elite 10.69 K/9 rate and 14.2% swinging strike rate. That pitch count should be stretched out tonight, especially considering the Dodgers have lost 11 of their last 12 games and the only win in that time was Kershaw's return. As of Thursday morning, there has been no official word on the pitch count so fire up Kershaw and his gigantic upside.
Lance Lynn FD 8300 DK 9200
Opponent - SD (Richard) Park - @SD
FD - 29.9 DK - 15.18
If you are looking for another SP2 option to pair with Kluber or Kershaw or possibly plan on stacking bats and want to use two value pitchers, consider Lance Lynn. He isn't a sexy pick and has very limited upside with his 7.39 K/9 rate but he has been one of the more reliable and consistent secondary options all season. He has held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in 11 of his last 12 starts and has seen his ERA dip below 3.00 for the season. Understandably, there is a lot of room for regression as the xFIP sits at 4.67 and he is walking just over 3.5 batters per nine but we keep saying it and he keeps delivering quality start after quality start. On a larger slate, I don't think it's necessary but he makes a ton of sense on a smaller eight-game slate.
