Faria looked somewhat human in his last start vs. these Orioles after opening his career with three straight wins allowing just one earned run in each start. Don't get me wrong, he was still good allowing just five hits but unfortunately, two of them were long balls. Through four career starts, he has shown elite K upside(10.1 K/9) backed by a 13% swinging strike rate and while the 2.10 ERA is due for a little regression, I don't think it's much as the xFIP sits at 3.30 for the season. He will face Baltimore in back to back starts which downgrades the pick a bit leaving him as a GPP play only tonight but the upside is most definitely there as the O's strike out over 22% of the time vs. right-handed pitching and over 25% of the time over the past 14 days.

After a disaster of a 2016 season, Sonny Gray has looked the part of a front-end rotation guy once again. He is striking out the most batters(9.1 K/9 rate) since his rookie season back in 2013 and outside of three bad starts, he has held opponents to three earned runs or less in eight of his 11 starts. The wins have been hard to come by as the A's offense doesn't usually give him much run support but the upside is there in the right matchups. He gets one of those tonight as the A's sit as the fourth highest favorite on the slate(-160) and faces a Braves team that ranks in the bottom third of the league in wOBA and wRC+ vs. right-handed pitching. He makes an excellent SP2 on DraftKings or nice pivot for GPP's on FanDuel.
