GOALIES
Craig Anderson FD - $8500 DK - $8000
Opponent - BUF
Proj Pts FD - 16.8 DK - 4.2
It is almost impossible to not pull for this guy right now. He has spent the previous two months away from the team as his wife deals with an unfortunate Cancer battle. The Senators rallied around him last Saturday in his return has they shutout the New York Islanders at home. Anderson was terrific and appeared to feed off the home fans saving all 33 shots he faced. He will be back in net tonight, once again at home, to face a Sabres team that ranks 24th in offense and has been worse on the road. Anderson is safe in all formats.
Cory Schneider FD - $8400 DK - $8100
Opponent - COL
Proj Pts FD - 17.93 DK - 4.48
Anytime Cory Schneider is on home ice he can be considered in daily fantasy. The Devils sit right near the basement of the Eastern Conference which automatically makes him a GPP only play but there is some upside. He has been decent lately going 5-2-2 with a .922 save % and has a 11-6-3 home record with two shutouts. While the Devils have been bad, the Avalanche have been worse ranking dead last in offense and defense this season.
Also Consider: Matt Murray(PIT)
CENTERS
**Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid are both in play tonight at the top of the Center salary. I will dig a little deeper and provide some value at the position**
John Tavares FD - $8000 DK - $7700
Opponent - TOR
Proj Pts FD - 16.91 DK - 5.28
With Crosby and McDavid, and even Seguin on FanDuel, sitting in the upper tier it makes perfect sense to pivot to Johnny T. While he is not having the typical superstar season(mostly due to his supporting cast), he has been very consistent averaging just under a point per game. He was kept off the scoresheet last time vs. the Leafs but did record five shots on goal. The shot volume has been there all year which gives him a very safe floor, especially with the discounted price and we all know how high the ceilign is. Fire up Tavares in all formats.
Stack with: Anders Lee, Josh Bailey
Bryan Little FD - $6200 DK - $6000
Opponent - DAL
Proj Pts FD - 12.82 DK - 3.86
The Stars/Jets game has the biggest Vegas total of the slate, giving us a ton of fantasy value. For the Jets, I lean Bryan Little at Center on both sites who comes with a discount off Scheifele and has been the more productive player lately. In his last 10 games, Little has tallied eight goals and 11 points, four of which have come with the man advantage. With the high total and potential for lots of offense, stack Little with his wingers to maximize your upside.
Stack with: Nikolaj Ehlers, Blake Wheeler
Tyler Bozak FD - $5800 DK - $4700
Opponent - NYI
Proj Pts FD - 9.93 DK - 2.97
If you are looking for a mid-range value to help provide a little salary relief without sacrificing upside, Bozak is your man. Since the end of January, he has been very consistent with points in six of seven games with 18 shots on goal and two powerplay points. He is definitely making the most of 14-17 minutes of ice time(just over 2.5 per game on the PP) and also centers a talented line of James Van Riemsdyk and Mitch Marner. Another low risk, high upside individual or stacking option tonight.
Stack with: James Van Riemsdyk, Mitch Marner
WINGERS
Jamie Benn FD - $8400 DK - $7100
Opponent - WPG
Proj Pts FD - 15.09 DK - 5.03
Back to the Jets/Stars matchup where there is a high probability the game will hit the Over, even with it set at six goals. For the Stars, it starts with Jamie Benn who has been one of the hottest players in the league lately. He has recorded a point in nine of his last 10 games(13 points total) and has seen a huge uptick in his shot volume. After averaging just over 2.5 shots per game for the season, he has tallied 36 shots on goal over those last 10 games. Put the safety, upside, and matchup together and you have an elite play to build your lineups around tonight.
Stack with: Patrick Eaves, Tyler Seguin(PP)
Kyle Palmieri FD - $5800 DK - $4700
Opponent - COL
Proj Pts FD - 11.19 DK - 3.63
Palmieri is back in my article again, this time in a home matchup. While he has been much better on the road(23 points vs. 9 at home), you can't ignore the matchup tonight vs. the worst team in the league. The Avs rank dead last in defense, allowing 3.4 goals per game and come into tonight losers of three straight giving up four or more goals in each. In fact, the Avs have now lost 17 of their last 20 games giving up an average of 3.8 goals per game. Look for Palmieri to get back on track after a zero shot, zero point game vs. the Sharks last time out.
Stack with: Taylor Hall, Travis Zajac
Jake Guentzel FD - $4100 DK - $4400
Opponent - VAN
Proj Pts FD - 8.03 DK - 2.4
Chris Kunitz FD - $5000 DK - $4500
Opponent - VAN
Proj Pts FD - 9.1 DK - 2.72
Tonight is a perfect opportunity to stack the Penguins top line in all formats. Guentzel was moved up to play alongside Crosby and Kunitz last game which creates a very low-cost stack with huge upside. The Pens #1 ranked offense will be at home to the Canucks who have been terrible on the road this season(8-17-3) and have lost six of their last 10 games overall. Crosby has gone without a point in two straight games but the good news is that he hasn't gone three straight all season. Kunitz continues to produce alongside Crosby and has seven points in his last 10 games and Guentzel picked up an assist in his last game and has points in two of his last three.
Stack with: Sidney Crosby
DEFENSEMEN
Johnny Boychuk FD - $4700 DK - $4900
Opponent - TOR
Proj Pts FD - 9.61 DK - 2.94
We will once again turn our attention to the value at the defense position tonight. It has become a DFSR strategy as there are so many options in the sub $5K range on both sites that provide not only safety but upside as well. It starts with Boychuk tonight who has seen a nice boost in fantasy value over the last few weeks. He only has 19 points on the season but has tallied a point in three of his last four games and has a whopping 34 shots on goal in his last 10 games.
Joshua Morrissey FD - $3600 DK - $3200
Opponent - DAL
Proj Pts FD - 6.87 DK - 2
Dipping down into the punt range we find Josh Morrissey of the Jets who gets a boost in the highest projected scoring game of the night. He is a part of the second defensive unit with Trouba and has even got some time on the powerplay. Over his last 10 games, he has picked up 18 blocks, 14 shots with four assists. That equals an average of 2.4 DK/8.3 FD points per game which is great for a low to mid $3K play.
