Daily Fantasy NBA News and Injury Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings - 1/4/17

Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!

Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight.

By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!

What We Know

Chris Paul & Damian Lillard are both doubtful, and fully expected to miss

This is the same show & dance from both of these guys, and they should both sit again. For the Clippers, Austin Rivers benefits most. As for the Blazers, you can plug and play C.J. McCollum tonight. Everyone else in the starting lineup is in play as well, as the usage will stay up.

Kristaps Porzingis is also doubtful

Porzingis has missed the last 2 games, and it looks like he will miss another one here. Noah has definitely taken advantage, and he will get a little extra run tonight. He can be played in both cash games and tournaments, as his price is low.

What We're Waiting to Know

LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving are all questionable

I think they either all play or all sit out. In the case they all play, I would look at everyone as a strict tournament play only. If they all miss, things could get really interesting. Almost everyone who starts would be in play, as well as whoever you think would be the 1st 2 guys up from the bench. Iman Shumpert, Kay Felder and Jordan McRae would be my favorite as I expect them to get a ton of usage. If only 1 or 2 guys play, the other star(s) would be in play in both cash games and tournaments.

Dwyane Wade is questionable against the Cavs

With Wade out last time, Butler sure took advantage. He finished with 52 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. While we definitely can't expect that again, we can look for him to have a nice game. Even if Wade plays, Butler is still in play. The Cavs are good on defense, but this game figures to be very competitive. Wade is also a tournament option if he plays.

Evan Fournier has been listed as questionable

Fournier has been questionable 5 games in a row now, and has not returned. If he misses again, Jodie Meeks and Serge Ibaka stand to benefit most. Meeks gets the minutes, and Ibaka pick sup a lot of the usage. The match up with the Hawks isn't perfect, but both guys are in play if Fournier is ruled out.

Tyler Johnson, Hassan Whiteside, Justise Winslow, Dion Waiters & James Johnson are questionable

It looks like Whiteside is pretty much out. The other guys are up in the air, but I would expect them to miss. This would force Willie Reed into big minutes again, and he could easily get into foul trouble against Cousins. Dragic and Josh Richardson will also play a lot, and make for good plays in both formats.

The "Every Lineup" Guys

Giannis Antetokounmpo

I talked about both of these guys in the main picks article. Antetokounmpo is my favorite guy to pay up for tonight, as the usage will surely be there and the match up is great. The Knicks have absolutely nobody to guard him, and I expect him to hit value with ease. He can do everything, and is above average in every aspect of his game. He h also somehow flied under the radar, with Harden and Westbrook having insane seasons. His fantasy points still count the same though, and I think he racks them up here. The Knicks have nobody to cover him, and I don't think they have anyone that can even slow him down. I can see him having a monster game tonight, and a triple double isn't out of the question. He is a superstar, but is a little cheaper than some of the other guys, even though his production has been no worse.

Malcolm Brogdon

I was off of him after that great game, and reaped the benefits on him being high owned. I am back on board tonight with the Bucks taking on the Knicks. Hopefully some people will jump off the Brogdon train, and he comes in somewhat low owned. The Knicks aren't horrible against PG's, but they also aren't great. Rose is pretty average, and Brogdon will be able to get his. Brogdon is a terrific value play in both cash games and tournaments.
