NFL Week 16 Review

In case you didn’t notice, we just released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

Impressive Performances

Aaron Rodgers - 347 yards, 4 TD, 1 rushing TD

Rodgers is doing what he does all the time, and that is dominating at the end of the season. Rodgers is going to continue the dominance, and the Packers fate will reside on the Packers defense. They take on the Lions next week, and Rodgers will be one of the top plays of the week. He can be used in both cash and tournaments.

Russell Wilson - 350 yards, 4 TD

Wilson benefited from a game that ended up going back and forth all 2nd half. He got on a role late and threw a couple TD's. He faces the 9ers in week 17, which is a really good match up through the air and ground. He is a great tournament option.

Jay Ajayi - 206 yards, TD

Ajayi remains a high end GPP option, and his scores have been all over the place. He has 3 200 yard games this year, but only topped 100 one other time. In week 17, he is a tournament only option against the Patriots. You can be sure that he will get the carries, but the Patriots are very stout against the run.

Adam Thielen - 202 yards, 2 TD

Thielen benefited from a game that went back and forth all game long, and the Packers were allowing a lot of short completions. They came in with intentions of keeping the ball inf fornt of them, which resulted in Thielen getting a ton of looks 5 or 6 yards out. He turned it in for 202 yards and 2 TD's, which is the best game of the week for a WR. The Bears have been decent against the pass, so Thielen is a guy I would only play in tournaments in week 17.

Jordy Nelson - 154 yards, 2 TD

Nelson was targeted all day long by Rodgers, and they look to have the groove back. Like Rodgers, I am willing to trust Nelson down the stretch to come through on a weekly basis. As long as Rodgers is at the helm, the targets will be there and the production will come.

Travis Kelce - 160 yards, TD

Kelce has been the top TE a few times this year, but really stood out in week 16. He finsihed with 22 points and was far and away the highest scoring TE. The Chargers have been prone to TE's, so Kelce could be in for another good game in week 17.

Notable Performances - Sam Bradford, Blake Bortles, LeSean McCoy, Doug Baldwin, Sammy Watkins, Odell Beckham Jr.

Under-achievers

Tyler Eifert - 0 catches

Eifert was obviously very disappointing, as he finished with 0. Eifert got hurt in the middle of the game, and never actually caught a pass. He was a big part of the passing game a few weeks ago, but it looks like he is a bit too injury prone to rely on week in and out. If he does return in full health, he would be limited to tournaments only, and I would likely stay away.

Thomas Rawls - 8 rushes, 8 yards

All 3 of these guys listed here finished with 0 points, and were all extremely disappointing. Rawls was in a game that promised plenty of opportunity, but it went Russell Wilson and the passing game. Alex Collins saw 1 less carry than Rawls, so we could be seeing a bit of a Rb committee here. I would stay away in week 17.

Jeremy Hill - 7 rushes, 8 yards

Jeremy Hill had the backfield all to himself, and still couldn't remain consistent. Instead, Rex Burkhead picked up 12 carries and caught 4 passes. They are both tournament options, but are reaches at that.

Looking Forward to week 17
