What We Know
Chris Paul and J.J Redick are both likely out
Paul has been ruled out, and they said Redick will "likely miss a game or two", so I would think both of these guys sit. If they do, Austin Rivers, Jamal Crawford and Raymond Felton would all be in play. I would like all 3 in all formats, with Rivers being my favorite. DeAndre Jordan takes a small bump down, as Paul is a big reason why he ever scores. If Redick is somehow in, I would only like Rivers and Crawford, and not nearly as much.
What We're Waiting to Know
Damian Lillard is listed as doubtful
Dame is likely gonna miss this one, which is a huge blow to the offense. In his absence, I expect C.J. McCollum and Allen Crabbe to get big bumps. Both should see an increase in minutes and usage. The Raptors have a decent defense, but play at a fast pace. Because of that, they give up a ton of points, which most coming on the perimeter. Both McCollum and Crabbe make good plays, and you can use McCollum in cash as well.
Evan Fournier is a GTD
Fournier missed last game against the Lakers, which resulted in Jodie Meeks picking up 27 minutes. If Fournier is out, I like Meeks and Payton most, and both could be used across the board. Meeks is more of a scorer, but that team will need one if Fournier misses.
The "Every Lineup" Guys
James Harden
Harden is taking on the Suns, so we have to give him a long hard look. The Suns are a team that plays at an incredibly fast pace, and in result, their opposition fills up the stat sheet. Harden is the ultimate stat stuffer, and he is doing it in 3 different categories this year… Well 4 if you count turnovers. I would say a triple double is easily in the equation tonight and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 70 point explosion. If he does go off, having him in tournaments will be a must with the value that is sure to arise with the Clippers.
Devin Booker
In the same game, at the same position, we have Devin Booker. Booker is cheaper, but has a much lower floor. His ceiling is always very high, but he can take nights off and end up with 2 fantasy points. However, I don’t think this is the game for that. Harden is not a good defender, and he has exerted all of his energy onto the offensive side of the ball. I also expect Harden to be covered by Bledose, so he will be rested plenty for offense. Booker is always more of a tournament play, but I certainly see the merit for use in cash games.
