What We Know

Personnel

  • Christian Yelich is getting a breather today against southpaw Jorge De La Rosa. Ichiro will hit leadoff and play left field.
  • David Peralta will be heading to the 15-day DL, yet again. Sorates Brito has been called up.
  • Dustin Pedroia is out of the lineup on Monday. Marco Hernandez will take his place at 2nd.
  • Matt Duffy is out of the lineup on Monday.
  • Denard Span is out of the lineup on Monday. Angel Pagan will hit leadoff.

  • Top Tournament Stacks

    Mariners

They Mariners be going up against right-hander Mike Pelfrey, who has just been awful this season. I'm going to start off by saying that he owns a 4.79 ERA that is backed up by a 5.37 SIERA. I honestly didn't think there could be regression for the right-hander, but apparently there is some heading his way (guess it's going to get even uglier for Pelfrey). He also owns a 1.70 WHIP and 1.6 K-BB%. It's been an ugly year for the 32-year-old, so stacking the Mariners is the way to go.

Not only is the matchup a thing of beauty for Seattle bats, but they are also great offensively against right-handers. On the year, they own a 115 wRC+ (3rd in MLB), .338 wOBA (5th in MLB) and .183 ISO (8th in MLB). These guys have the ability to hit for power and score runs in bunches, so look for the to have a big night.

    Giants

The Giants will be going up against southpaw Jeff Locke, which puts the Giants' struggling offense in a great position. From reading peoples comments on our articles, a lot more people are on the Giants than I anticipated. And people should be on them, they are in a great position to succeed and will be going up against Locke, who's periphials are not pretty.

He is entering this contest sporting an ERA, FIP, xFIP and SIERA well over five. He also owns a 3.6 K-BB%. Let's just say things have not gone his way and is a pitcher to target against in this contest. I know the Giants' lineup is filled with left-handed bats, but don't sleep on them, especially Buster Posey (He is a righty, but don't sleep on him either).

    The "Every Lineup" Guys

Clayton KershawClayton Kershaw FD 13000 DK 14200
    Opponent - WSH (Strasburg) Park - @LAD
    FD - 47.03 DK - 27.16
Madison BumgarnerMadison Bumgarner FD 12000 DK 12800
    Opponent - PIT (Locke) Park - @PIT
    FD - 41.83 DK - 23.17
Stephen StrasburgStephen Strasburg FD 10800 DK 13200
    Opponent - LAD (Kershaw) Park - @LAD
    FD - 35.19 DK - 20.15

These three guys are going to be on just about every single cash lineup out there (I'd say 95%). They are all absolute studs and have been pitching out of their minds this season (especially Kershaw). These three guys all have huge upside and you should not fade them in cash games. And it does not matter if Kershaw and Strasburg are going at it, you still gotta have some exposure to them because they are amazing! It does not matter if they both get the no-decission. These are the clear-cut options on tonight's slate.

    Sneaky Pitcher

Josh TomlinJosh Tomlin FD 8700 DK 9100
    Opponent - TB (Smyly) Park - @CLE
    FD - 32.17 DK - 16.84

There are some plus and minuses when rostering Josh Tomlin in your DFS squads. So let's start with the good news: Josh Tomlin does not give freebies. What I mean by that is that he does not walk batters and he makes them earn in at the plate! This helps his pitch-count quite a bit and allows him to go deep into games. So you might be asking yourself, "So Nick, what exactly is the bad news." The bad news is that he does not fan many hitters. He owns a 16.5 K% which isn't very appealing -- but there is some more good news! He will be going up the Rays who strikeout a ton. They own a 25.2 K%, so he does have some upside in this contest. He is my sneaky pitcher of the day and is a solid SP2 option for today.

Good luck out there today! If you want access to all of our numbers, get started with a free trial below of our lineup optimizer, on us!

  1. Stack says Blue Jays and description is about Mariners bats.. Just FYI.

  2. REALLY WENT OUT ON A LIMB WITH YOUR EVERY LINEUP GUY’S

  3. Just letting you know if you want the gpp upside might wanna look at Wright smyly and lackey. Those extra bats are needed on this slate.
