Welcome back to another night of daily fantasy hockey with DFSR. Another small three game slate tonight but there is still enough value where we can stack some top lines with a solid goalie. All three road teams(NJ, EDM, NYR) are playing on back to back nights and a third game in four nights.

At this time of the night there is only one goalie (Schneider-NJ) who is confirmed starting tomorrow. Be sure to check the comments section below and/or LeftWingLock to confirm all the starting goalies tonight prior to lineup lock.

Goaltenders

Braden Holtby
Opponent - NYR
FD - 9400 DK - 8700

Top option on a small slate tonight. He hasn't been at the top of his game lately with a poor .897 save % over the last 10 games but has still been logging the wins as the Capitals have a very strong team in front of him.  He gets a good matchup tonight at home vs. the Rangers who are playing on back to back nights on the road and coming off a 4-1 loss against the Pens last night. This should most likely be the lowest scoring game of the night and a great spot to draft your goalie.

Joonas Korpisalo
Opponent - EDM
FD - 8200 DK - 7200

If you are looking to go a bit lower owned(not much on a tiny slate) then Korpisalo makes an interesting GPP choice tonight. He gets a home matchup vs. the Oilers who have lost two straight and are right in the middle of a four game road trip. Korpisalo has been excellent for the Blue Jackets with Sergei Bobrovsky out and in his last 10 games has gone 6-2-2 with an impressive .923 save percentage. He will look to rebound after Oilers torched him for five goals back at the beginning of February.

CENTER

Tyler Seguin
Opponent - NJ
FD - 7100 DK - 8400

On a short slate there is no shortage of great offensive options tonight. My favorite plat of the night is the Dallas Stars offense and in particular Tyler Seguin. The Stars have really struggled defensively lately and lost seven of their last eight games and being outscored 35-22 in that time. The volume continues to be there for Seguin as he has 41 shots in his last 10 games and has tallied eight points. Look for the Stars to get back on track in a big way tonight.

Stack with - Jamie Benn, Valeri Nichushkin

Boone Jenner
Opponent - EDM
FD - 6100 DK - 5000

He makes a terrific mid range play tonight for the Blue Jackets. He plays the wing on the top line with Atkinson and Dubinsky while being listed as a center. He also gets run on the top PP unit. He provides a very stable floor as he has tallied 37 shots on goal in his last 10 games to go along with the five goals and a +3 rating. On FanDuel, he also provides some penalty minute upside as well with 23 in his last 10 games. The Blue Jackets face the Oilers tonight who own the second worst road record in the league.

Stack with - Cam Atkinson, Brandon Dubinsky

WINGERS

Taylor Hall
Opponent - CBJ
FD - 6400 DK - 6500

If you are looking for a lower owned(very tough on short slate) player tonight, Hall may be that guy. He has been awful lately with only five points in his previous 14 games and hasn't recorded a multi point game since January 18 of this year. He is coming off a goal last night which will hopefully kick start the offense here on out. The shot volume has been there as he has tallied 15 shots in his last three games.

Stack with - Patrick Maroon, Leon Draisaitl

Andre Burakovsky
Opponent - NYR
FD - 4700 DK - 4900

Terrific value play under $5K on both sites tonight. He is skating on a line with the red hot Evgeny Kuznetsov and has tallied seven points in his last 10 games. The 20 year old Austrian is now in his second season in the NHL for the Caps and has been impressing and looking like one of the key pieces of the future of the franchise. He doesn't get the shot volume to provide safety for cash games but on a short slate with little value he is plug and play tonight.

Stack with - Justin Williams, Evgeny Kuznetsov

DEFENSE

John Klingberg
Opponent - NJ
FD - 5800 DK - 6400

If you are the type who likes to pay up for D man in tournaments, Klingberg is the #1 choice on Friday night. He is third in points by defensemen and provides multi point upside needed to win. He picked up an assist last game and now has seven in his last 10 games with four coming with the man advantage. Despite having to play a top 5 defense tonight the Stars are my favorite stack.

Brooks Orpik
Opponent - NYR
FD - 3900 DK - 4500

Even without points in his last three games, Orpik has provided a nice floor for fantasy purposes. He is averaging close to three blocks a game(bonus on DraftKings) and has picked up a penalty(FanDuel bonus) in three of his last four games. On a short slate there isn't much for value on the back end so load up Orpik and move on.

  1. This will be interesting. Last time there was short slate like this I cashed in.

    L1- Analytics lineup
Ovechkin, Benn, Hartnell, Saad, Seguin, Henrique, Clendening, Warsofsky and Schneider

    L2- Maverick lineup
Benn, Jenner, Williams, Nichuskin, Seguin, Dubinsky, Klingberg, Orpik and Holtby

    L3- Gamble lineup
Benn, Burakovsky, Williams, Nichuskin, Kuzenetsov, Seguin, Klingberg, Jones and Korpisalo.

  2. Nichushkin has been moved off the top line for a “Brett Ritchie” who isn’t even a selectable player on DK or FD wtf….?

  3. Ya wow. Nich still a nice value playing with Spezza IMO

    • He definitely is, but it messes up that top stack. I guess other people can’t score off him either though. Dudes getting a Hatty tonight

  4. lol. Ya no shit. I love it. I now have multiple Spezza/Nich stacks. Also like CBJ2 as a sneaky stack.

  5. I actually did a CBJ1 and 2, with klingberg and Orpik on D and Korpi in net
