Welcome back to our newest addition to the DFSR family, CBB picks! CBB is different than the NBA in terms of lineup building and strategy, so if you've got any questions about these picks or CBB in general, please comment at the bottom of this article. Tonight there is a solid six game slate, so we're going to take a look at the best value plays of the night.

Upper Tier
Moses Kingsley
FD - 9700 DK - 9400
If you have been following our CBB picks then hopefully you played Kingsley last time we recommended him, because all he did was put up 46 FD points. He was my favorite pick that night, and he’s my favorite pick tonight for many of the same reasons. This game has the highest O/U of the evening and the line is only -2 so the game should be very close. Combine all of that with the fact that Tennessee has a scoring defense ranked 256th in the nation and Kingsley should have a monster game.
Dorian Finney-Smith
FD - 8400 DK - 8000
Another high-scoring SEC matchup to keep an eye on is Florida vs LSU, and that makes Finney-Smith a great play tonight. The line for this one is -2 as well, so meaningful minutes shouldn’t be a problem here. LSU has been terrible this season from a scoring defense standpoint, ranking 280th in the nation in scoring defense. Finney-Smith has been solid all season in the SEC, averaging 15 ppg and 8 rpg on the season. I know Ben Simmons is a beast, but he struggles on the defensive end and I expect Smith to have a big game as a result.
Georges Niang
FD - 9600 DK - 9600
This is more of a tournament play for a couple of reasons, but I do think Georges Niang could be in line for a big game tonight. Niang has put up at least 30 FD points in 6 straight contests, which is a level of consistency that is not normally found in CBB. Now for the risk(s). The game has a high O/U, but the line is -9.5 so there is a chance this one get’s out of hand in the second half. If this happens and Niang has his minutes buzzed it would be tough for him to hit value. K-State has a solid scoring defense, but Niang is one of those guys skilled enough that his matchup doesn’t hurt his value too much. Play with caution, but if he gets the minutes I like him to put up another solid performance.
Middle Tier
Antonio Blakeney
FD - 6400 DK - 5900
Another guy that I recommended a few days back who paid off quite nicely was Antonio Blakeney of LSU. His price only saw a minimal adjustment from his last time out, so I’m going to keep him in all of my lineups tonight as well. He’s getting massive minutes since Keith Hornsby went down, and I don’t see that trend reversing any time soon. Florida has a solid defense, but a guy at this price who is expected to see 35+ minutes just cannot be ignored.
Wesley Iwundu
FD - 7100 DK - 6600
This guy is more of a tourney pick (much like Niang) for many of the same reasons. If K-State can keep this one close, I really like Iwundu to have a good game, but that’s a big if. Iowa State is one of the few really good teams with a horrible team defense (ranked 273rd in the nation) so there is some hope that the Wildcats can keep it close. Iwundu is K-State’s best big man and does a bit of everything out on the court so he could have a nice game here in a matchup that should be high-scoring regardless of the spread.
KeVaughn Allen
FD - 5900 DK - 5300
I love targeting guys playing in games that have a high O/U against a terrible team defense, and KeVaughn Allen fit that description to a T. I’ve mentioned the line and LSU’s abysmal defense already so I won’t bore you with that information again, but just know that this one should be a track meet. Allen has been getting a ton of minutes lately (over 30 mpg in each of his last 5 games) so the opportunity is definitely there. I know he’s struggled in his last two games, but those were against teams with much better defense’s than LSU so I’m looking for Allen to have a nice bounce-back game here.
Lower Tier
Shembari Phillips
FD - 5000 DK - 5300
Far and a way the best value play on the board tonight and it’s not even close. He’s about as close to a must-play as you can get, and I’ll have Phillips in all of my lineups tonight. Since the injury to Kevin Punter, Phillips has gotten over 36 minutes in his last two games, resulting in value of nearly 5x in both games. He’s got a great matchup against Arkansas and their terrible team defense, so I’m expecting Phillips to have another great game tonight.
Dean Wade
FD - 4800 DK - 4800
After Phillips, the value picks get a little dicey. As I’ve mentioned already, there is some uncertainty to how close this game against Iowa State will be, but I think Wade could be one of the guys who has a good game regardless. He is incredibly inconsistent, but does have 3 games in his past 10 with over 25 FD points. Two of those games were against ranked Big 12 opponents so he does well in big games. This is a risky play for sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in a lineup or two that does really well in the GPP’s.
Mike Tobey
FD - 4500 DK - 4200
Definitely a tournament option only, Beejay Anya is a low priced big who anchors NC State’s (terrible) defense. He doesn’t score a ton, but he does rebound and block shots at an above average rate, so there is some upside here. Syracuse does not have any exceptional big men, so Anya could see increased minutes if he can stay out of foul trouble. By no means a safe pick, but I could see a solid stat line here.
