Welcome back to another night of daily fantasy hockey with DFSR. After a big slate last night we have a smaller five game slate on Friday. It is definitely not short of great goaltending options in great spots tonight. There are four teams (NJ, MIN, CAR, EDM) playing on back to back nights and a third game in four nights. I will be targeting goalies against these teams, especially the Oilers and Wild who are on the road. Be sure to check LeftWingLock prior to lineup lock to confirm the starting goalies for tonight.
You can also join in the comment section throughout the day as I will be available to answer any player or strategy questions.
Let's dig in to the action and find some core plays for tonight.
Goaltenders
John Gibson
Opponent - EDM
FD - 7900 DK - 7400
Frederik Andersen
Opponent - EDM
FD - 8700 DK - 7600
Whichever of these two start for the Ducks on Friday will make a great play in any format. Andersen is coming off a 26 save shutout of Buffalo on Wednesday and has gone 8-0-1 in his last 10 games with a .929 save % and a shutout. Gibson has also been terrific lately going 3-1 since the All Star break. The Ducks have a great matchup at home on Friday vs. the Oilers who are playing on back to back nights and a third game in four nights.
Ben Bishop
Opponent - NJ
FD - 8900 DK - 7800
He is coming off back to back wins on the road where he has stopped 66 of 70 shots directed his way. The Bolts head to New Jersey on Friday to face the Devils playing on back to back nights and also playing a third game in four nights. The Devils are also the lowest scoring team in the league. All signs are pointing to another big game from the Bolts and Bishop.
Also Consider - Braden Holtby - Washington Capitals vs. Minnesota
CENTER
Ryan Getzlaf
Opponent - EDM
FD - 8300 DK - 6000
His salary on DraftKings just won't budge off that $6K price tag. On a short slate when the Ducks get a fantastic matchup vs. the awful Oilers he is a must play. He has tallied 14 points(5 on the PP) in his last 10 games and added 20 shots, 10 blocks and a +9 rating. Don't overthink the center position tonight.
Stack with - Corey Perry, David Perron
Joe Thornton
Opponent - BUF
FD - 6600 DK - 5500
Another center on this small slate that presents tremendous value as his salary is just too low. With 15 points(6 on the PP) in his last 10 games he is playing like a high end $7k+ player at a huge discount. take advantage tonight and stack the Sharks top line as they face the Sabres who have lost two straight and seven of their last 10 games.
Stack with - Joe Pavelski, Tomas Hertl
Also Consider - David Krejci - Boston Bruins @ CAR
WINGERS
Alex Ovechkin
Opponent - MIN
FD - 10700 DK - 9100
If stars and scrubs is your thing, Ovechkin is one high end play you have to pay up for tonight. His price is getting ridiculously high on FanDuel which should make him a contrarian play with lower ownership, especially when he is $2K+ more expensive than the next wing option. He provides an extremely high floor as he has averaged over 6 shots on goal per game in the last few weeks. he also has the highest upside of any player and has 10 goals in his last 10 games including four multi point games.
Stack with - Evgeny Kuznetsov, Justin Williams
Jordan Eberle
Opponent - ANA
FD - 6600 DK - 6000
He continues to benefit greatly from playing alongside phenom Connor McDavid. In his last 10 games he has tallied 12 points and added 37 shots on goal. He makes a great GPP play tonight in a tough matchup vs. the Ducks. If the Oilers are to have a chance to beat the Ducks they will need their top line to produce.
Stack with - Connor McDavid, Benoit Pouliot
Also Consider - Andre Burakovsky - Washington Capitals vs. MIN
DEFENSE
Brent Burns
Opponent - BUF
FD - 7400 DK - 8200
If you are looking to go contrarian tonight paying up for a D man is great way to separate yourself from the field. The majority of people tend to look for value with their two defense slots. Burns isn't just any D man. He averages over 25 minutes a game for the Sharks and averages close to five shots a game. He is D man but can play forward and knows how to handle the puck in the offensive zone. In these types of matchups he provides huge upside.
Brooks Orpik
Opponent - MIN
FD - 3600 DK - 4300
After a 40 game absence due to injury he has returned to the Caps and found an offensive game. He has five points in his five games back and only had three in his first 14 games of the season. The price is very affordable and the Caps have a great matchup at home vs. the Wild. Ride the hot streak.
Also Consider - Sami Vatanen - Anaheim Ducks vs. EDM

What’s your take on a Perry/Rakell stack for tonight? They’ve lit up Edmonton so far this year…
I am all over Ducks tonight. Even add Getzlaf on the PP and either Vatanen or Fowler
Hey guys I took a break but now I’m back.
Try these on for size
L1
Perron, Poullot, Perry, Eberle, Getzlaf, Spooner, Ristolainen, Orpik and Gibson
L2
Ovechkin, Eriksson, Oshie, Pastrnak, Kuzenetsov, Granlund, Sekera, Theodore and Holtby
Gamble lineup
Marchand, Skinner, Williams, Vanek, Kuzenetsov, Staal, Sekera, Orpik and Bishop
L1 – Gibson not starting. Andersen is only couple hundy more
L2 – Theodore not active. Down in the minors
L3 – Love it
I have made some adjustments to the Lineup Tool and Projections so when goalies are confirmed the other goalie from that team is removed from the projections.
Welcome back Justin. I’ve been on a roll the last 3 nights. Yep all over the Ducks tonight heavily in cash games. Good luck everyone
