Point Guards
Kyrie Irving - FanDuel $8,500 DraftKings $8,900 DraftStreet $16,420
Kyrie is back to being his old self again, and that's a beautiful thing. He killed the Knicks and the Suns, and the Warriors don't have anyone that can begin to match up with him in the back court. The safest play on the PG board tonight, and the most upside of any high-priced player for my money.
Jameer Nelson - FanDuel $5,700 DraftKings $5,600 DraftStreet $11,478
Hoped you grabbed good-time Jameer after our recommendation last time around! He's been playing terrifically recently, and draws a Washington team who is precisely league average against defending opposing PGs. With Oladipo still on limited minutes, I like Nelson's usage to stay nice and high. Great mid-range play for double ups and GPPs tonight.
Rajon Rondo - FanDuel $8,100 DraftKings $7,500 DraftStreet $15,416
Rondo sat his last time out, but it was just routine maintenance, as he's trying to stay off his Achilles in back to backs. He squares off against a Phoenix team that has allowed 15% more points to opposing PGs than league average in their last 15 games, and I like him for both safety and upside tonight.
Damian Lillard - FanDuel $7,300 DraftKings $8,000 DraftStreet $14,228
Lillard gets a nod here because of how he CRUSHED with Aldridge out the last time around. His confidence seems to soar with the big man out, and I'm looking for at least 40 FPs from him tonight against a New Orleans team that has allowed 3% more FPs to opposing PGs on the season, but 12% more than league average in their last 15 games.
Tony Parker - FanDuel $6,600 DraftKings $7,200 DraftStreet $13,641
Mister March and I disagree on Parker tonight. He says stay away, I say play. For cash games I think he'll be a high percentage start. Depending on how you feel about that, plus factoring in the Lakers, I think he's safe. MM is looking elsewhere. Should be interesting to see which one of us owns bragging rights.
Darren Collison - FanDuel $5,900 DraftKings $5,400 DraftStreet $10,884
If Jamal Crawford is out - Darren Collison remains a great play. Just so many damned minutes for less than $6,000 on FD.
George Hill - FanDuel $4,800
Listen, I hate George Hill as much as anyone. I've played him half a dozen times and gotten 12 points, and the one time I duck him he goes off for 60 FPs. But he's playing Philly, you know? So as a Daily Fantasy Basketball analyst I am contractually obligated to recommend him. I'm actually going to stay away myself for the most part, as I am imagining this game being called early like a game from the And-1 tour, but I will definitely have at least 1 GPP Indiana stack where I just hope Philly gets hot with some outside shooting.
Shooting Guards
Gordon Hayward - FanDuel $6,800 DraftKings $7,300 DraftStreet $13,971
Hayward draws a nice matchup against the defensively indifferent Clips. The Clips have only allowed 2% more points than league average to opposing SGs, but Hayward's perimeter-centric game is a nice fit for a Clips team that does better around the rim than they do the perimeter.
James Anderson - FanDuel $4,600 DraftKings $4,600 DraftStreet $9,118
People keep ignoring James Anderson, and I'm beginning to take it personally. How many nights in a row does a guy have to produce 5x before ANYONE in this industry notices him? I get it - not the sexiest pick around. But can his price crest above $4,600 for once? I'm starting to feel like my teams start with him every single night. And I hate rooting for the Sixers to succeed in anything.
Tyreke Evans - FanDuel $7,700 DraftKings $6,600 DraftStreet $15,157
People in the NBA seem to get "sick" a lot more than regular people. Maybe they all kiss when no one is watching. Nonetheless, if Tyreke plays, I like his matchup quite a bit against Portland. Anthony Morrow is the guy if Tyreke sits again - and a guy I'll play in most formats if he does.
Lance Stephenson - FanDuel $7,200 DraftKings $6,200 DraftStreet $13,299
I'm giving Lance a courtesy nod here, even though our system isn't enamored. He's been pretty abysmal recently, but Philly has a way of helping people turn that around. I won't personally be playing him unless I decide to try and sneak him into a stack. But just wanted to give you a heads up.
Manu Ginobili - FanDuel $4,800
Manu has been amazing recently, and even more amazing considering how few minutes he's playing. He's got a really high floor considering the numbers he's been putting up in 20 minutes or less, and there's room for considerably more if he gets some additional run like he does from time to time. Also, Lakers D.
Danny Green - FanDuel $4,800 DraftKings $4,600
Danny Green draws one of the best matchups for SGs that exists, and has been playing well in limited opportunities recently aside from the odd 0 FPs performance against Chi-town. Not a safety play, but Green is as capable of randomly putting up a huge game as anyone, and the Lakers are the ideal opponent with which to do so.
Courtney Lee - DraftKings $3,400 DraftStreet $6,936
Courtney Lee is criminally underpriced here, even though he's been pretty disappointing recently. A very safe option for under $7k with a fair bit of upside if a few more shots fall than usual.
Small Forwards
Kawhi Leonard - FanDuel $6,400 DraftKings $6,400 DraftStreet $13,525
To their credit, the Lakers allow about league average scoring to opposing small forwards. And that's where the credit stops. Because in the other stats, we are talking bloodbath territory. 20% more rebounds and assists to opposing small forwards means Kawhi should be in double-double range.
Paul George - FanDuel $8,400 DraftKings $8,500 DraftStreet $16,313
Even if the rout is on, George is still in play tonight. Fading blowouts is such a tough thing. But with superstar types at these prices against historically bad defensive teams I don't think you need to sweat the decision too much.
Trevor Ariza - FanDuel $6,600 DraftKings $6,400 DraftStreet $11,653
Ariza is coming off two subpar games. But remember, those were against Miami and Charlotte, two teams who are in the NBA to keep the prices on guys like Ariza honest. He stunk. But now he's facing an Orlando team well below league average against opposing small forwards. Put him in.
Richard Jefferson - DraftStreet $5,962
Not the worst cheap option for a GPP if you think he can grab about 30 minutes.
Dorell Wright - DraftStreet $5,535
Along the same lines, stands to see more minutes with Aldridge out of the lineup and this is a near minimum price.
Power Forwards
Tim Duncan - FanDuel $8,200 DraftKings $7,600 DraftStreet $14,762
The numbers for the Lakers against power forwards should be illegal to view. Definitely NSFW territory so turn your monitor away from your boss's office before reading these. 14% more scoring. 11% more rebounding. 32% more assists. Oof, did you get fired?
Boris Diaw - FanDuel $5,100 DraftKings $4,300 DraftStreet $10,540
A bit more speculative because the minutes seem to be a constant state of flux (or Pop). But Diaw can deliver so huge on these prices, especially against a piece of garbage defense. He actually seems even better to me if he comes off the bench because it means he might be around in a blowout.
Kris Humphries - FanDuel $4,800 DraftKings $4,500
Very risky at these prices, but when Humphries gets extended run, he pays off. The problem is the minutes. I have a feeling he sees more playing time tonight against a relatively small Phoenix team.
Pau Gasol - FanDuel $8,800 DraftKings $8,400 DraftStreet $16,482
He's getting a bit steep, but is especially in play on DraftStreet where he's a center. San Antonio isn't otherworldly good against opposing big men and Gasol should see his share of points and rebounds.
David West - FanDuel $6,700
Actually think he's getting a bit pricey on the other two sites, even relative to opposition. But West if very much in play against a Sixer team that blows.
Amir Johnson - FanDuel $5,400
Amir won you money the other night if you played him on our rec. His price hasn't changed, but he gets a much more difficult opponent in Memphis. These are the kinds of matchups that bring a low price guy back down to Earth. Be wary.
Josh McRoberts - DraftKings $4,500
I love finding just the right spots for McRoberts. This is one of them against an uptempo Minny team. Assume he'll see more touches and more volume.
Centers
Chris Bosh - FanDuel $6,800 DraftKings $6,700 DraftStreet $13,002
Denver is completely terrible against opposing centers and Bosh has been on a nice run of late. He's seeing more looks in the Miami offense and this should translate tonight, especially in the form of some easier buckets. Bosh seems about the safest center play across the board, though there are some site specific guys who you should target as well.
Robin Lopez - FanDuel $6,000 DraftKings $5,200 DraftStreet $11,351
Basically, I'm counting on him seeing more volume with Aldridge out. This line of thought worked for some of the time Aldridge missed last time, but R-Lo turned in a dud or two. He isn't a sure thing, but should benefit without LaMarcus.
Tiago Splitter - FanDuel $4,500 DraftKings $4,600 DraftStreet $8,275
If he's in the starting lineup, which I suspect him to be against the Lakers, then you should run him out there. We all know the deal. Splitter, at these super low prices probably won't blow away his expectation, but he seems incredibly safe against a defensively deficient team.
Roy Hibbert - FanDuel $5,000 DraftStreet $11,421
Probably needs to have the first quarter of his life to pay this off, but the system loves the guy. Philly has no one who can handle him and they will be hard pressed to get anything going at all near the rim. Fun stat: Philly allows 40% more blocks than league average to opposing centers!
DeAndre Jordan - DraftKings $7,300
Kind of a crazy low price on 'Dre here. Love it.
