Point Guard/ Shooting Guard
Luka Doncic FD - $12800 DK - $12800
Opponent - GS
Proj Pts FD - 61.94 DK - 67.82
What price is too high for Luka Doncic at this point? The numbers are just getting pretty stupid. Over the last six games, he’s averaging 36 points, 11 assists, and 11 rebounds in *just* 38 minutes per game. This just simply doesn’t happen with this kind of consistency. It’s almost disturbing. Now the Mavericks play in the night’s highest-total game against the Warriors who really have no one to slow him down. It’s crazy to think about paying these prices happily in cash, but the performance warrants it.
Immanuel Quickley FD - $8300 DK - $8500
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 46.23 DK - 50.04
The Raptors are in a bit of an injury mess lately, and don’t seem all that incentivized to win either. It’s making for a somewhat tricky situation fantasy-wise, but we should also see a ton of minutes and shots from Immanuel Quickley here. RJ Barrett has already been ruled out, and IQ should run a lot of the offense.
He’s played 36 or more minutes in five of his last six games, averaging 21 points, and 10.5 assists per game in that stretch. He’s been one of the big ceiling fantasy changes over the second half of the season after the trade, and amazingly, the price hasn’t all the way caught up.
Tyrese Haliburton FD - $9100 DK - $9400
Opponent - CHI
Proj Pts FD - 46.25 DK - 50.3
The Pacers are on the second half of the back-to-back which could be a bit problematic, though I still expect Tyrese Haliburton to run full minutes here. He played 36 minutes last night against the Thunder, going for 18 points and 12 assists in the win.
His price has stagnated some in the short-term thanks in part to major struggles shooting. He’s sub-20% from three over the last couple of weeks. It should just be a blip, but it’s limited the scoring for sure. We might be buying a bit low if you think he comes back to his regular shooting splits.
Small Forward
DeMar DeRozan FD - $8400 DK - $8200
Opponent - IND
Proj Pts FD - 43.02 DK - 44.91
You have to love the matchup for DeMar DeRozan going into Indiana to face the Pacers. It’s a pace-up matchup for sure, against a team running the second-fastest (103.8) and playing the 5th-worst defensive efficiency to boot. DDR was buzzed off minutes last game because the Bulls got crushed by the Mavericks. But when things are close, he’s running about 40 minutes per game, taking high-teens shots and scoring in the mid-20s. That should be the case here and the price doesn’t break the bank on either site.
Bruce Brown FD - $5100 DK - $5100
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 34.96 DK - 36.54
Gradey Dick FD - $5200 DK - $4800
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 29.18 DK - 31.74
Ochai Agbaji FD - $4100 DK - $4200
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 25.55 DK - 26.42
Again, the Raptors are kind of a mess here and are giving some of the younger guys major minutes in the starting lineup. Bruce Brown returned from injury, started, and played 38 minutes against the Nuggets (revenge!) on Monday. He finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds. He should get the start again with RJ Barrett out of the lineup, though we will have to confirm that closer to lineup lock.
Meanwhile, Gradey Dick has gone 31, 39 (OT), 36 in the last three, taking 11 shots per game and averaging 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists in that stretch. Not eye-popping, but solid at these price points. Plus, a matchup against the Pistons makes things a bit easier.
Finally, Ochai Agbaji is a minutes and opportunity guy more than anything else. Nothing he does jumps off the page, but his price doesn’t either. He should still be in the starting lineup as long as Gary Trent remains out. The second part is a bigger if, but this is a situation to monitor.
Power Forward/ Center
Jalen Duren FD - $7400 DK - $6700
Opponent - TOR
Proj Pts FD - 37.87 DK - 40.9
Isaiah Stewart FD - $5200 DK - $5000
Opponent - TOR
Proj Pts FD - 27.13 DK - 29.92
Have to love this spot for the Pistons on Wednesday. The Raptors are dealing with a ton of injuries, especially in the front court and these two dudes should see minutes in the mid-30s at least. As long as Jalen Duren can stay out of foul trouble, the dude is a double-double beast, coming off a 20-point, 10-rebound game against the Hornets on Monday.
Duren has double-doubles in eight of his last ten games with only some minutes issues getting in his way from massive upside. The DraftKings price is kind of a joke and he’s been a popular play there.
Then there is Beef Stew Isaiah Stewart who has more consistent minutes than Jalen Duren, though a lower fantasy ceiling with how the Pistons use him. Over his last six games, Stewart is averaging 11 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals+blocks. Those numbers won’t blow you away, but coming in the $5K range on both sites makes him easier to fit into lineups.
Nikola Vucevic FD - $8200 DK - $8300
Opponent - IND
Proj Pts FD - 42.04 DK - 44.91
Like we said with DeMar DeRozan, this is a good spot for the Bulls facing off against the Pacers. Nikola Vucevic has quietly put together one of the better fantasy seasons around mostly because he’s played nearly every game and basically just done what he does year in, and year out. 18 points and 10 rebounds per game is the norm for Vuce and his minutes are as safe as any center in the game right now. The price never gets too crazy and this is a good spot.
