Point Guard/ Shooting Guard

Tyrese Haliburton FD - $10600 DK - $11000
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 55.62 DK - 59.27

Tyrese Haliburton has been absolutely on one over the last couple of games, putting up unreal numbers scoring 33 and 37 points respectively with 16 assists in each. It doesn’t get much better than that and the Pacers continue to run at a crazy pace each and every game. Hali is getting expensive here, and with good reason, but gets a good matchup against the Pistons who play a bottom-third defense and run a top-12 pace.

While the Pacers can run funky rotations at times, that doesn’t apply to their point guard who is having an All-NBA kind of season so far.

Cade Cunningham FD - $7700 DK - $7800
Opponent - IND
Proj Pts FD - 41.21 DK - 46.28

On the other side of the ball, the Pistons draw one of the better DFS matchups around considering the Pacers allow as many points as they score (more or less). Their 107.3 pace is, by far, the fastest in the league, 1.7 higher than the next-closest team. It’s why the total for this game is 247.5, 20 or so points higher than just about every other game on the slate.

Cade Cunningham should be in line for a lot of minutes though it should be mentioned that his production can be more volatile than others in his price range. But he has 20-point, 10-assist upside here with rebounds to boot. I think he’s more than worth the price considering the matchup.

Buddy Hield FD - $5000 DK - $5500
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 33.11 DK - 36.3

Like I said before, the Pacers do play weird rotations at times, but Buddy Hield is starting to look like a safer play if the current plan sticks. He’s taken over the starting shooting guard role and played 35 and 31 minutes over the last two since the switch. The scoring has been there with 31 and 24 points, taking 28 total shots in that span. We know he can bomb threes and the Pacers pace allows for him to get enough shots up to come in as a value at these prices.

Small Forward

Giannis Antetokounmpo FD - $11400 DK - $11100
Opponent - WAS
Proj Pts FD - 59.44 DK - 63.05

There are going to be some interesting decisions around the higher salary points for this slate and Giannis Antetokounmpo is going to be one of those dudes. The reason to strongly consider playing him is A: he’s awesome and B: he faces the Wizards. Washington ranks second in pace and 3rd-to-last in defensive efficiency.

Of course, there are major blowout concerns with this game and the Bucks are -13 home favorites. That puts Giannis’s minutes at real risk for the 4th quarter. But this is a dude averaging 29.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists with more than two steals+blocks per game to boot.

Khris Middleton FD - $5600 DK - $5700
Opponent - WAS
Proj Pts FD - 34.94 DK - 38.36

The key with Khris Middleton here is that he appears to finally had the minutes restriction starting to lift and that puts him in an interesting spot. Last game, he played 29 minutes in the loss to the Celtics, a season-high for this season. The numbers were fine, scoring 12 points with seven assists and five rebounds. The 4-14 shooting was below expectation so there’s room for growth here in a couple of areas. I love the prices on both sites even with the blowout concerns.

Keep an eye on the injury situations with Bam Adebayo and Zach Lavine. Both Jimmy Butler (FD 8400 DK 8300) and DeMar DeRozan (FD 8000 DK 7300) would be great plays were the other big names on the team were to sit.

Power Forward/ Center

Karl-Anthony Towns FD - $8500 DK - $8400
Opponent - SAC
Proj Pts FD - 45.31 DK - 48.75

Karl-Anthony Towns isn’t having his best statistical season, but he’s playing within the team system the Minnesota Timberwolves could be headed towards their best season since he’s been on the team. KAT is averaging 21.6 points on 49.3/ 37.5/ 89.7 splits, making him pretty efficient in his 33.6 minutes per game. The rebounding numbers are solid and the 1.1 blocks per game are the best of his career. I like the matchup against the Kings in what should be a close game and Towns’ price on DraftKings is looking like a real bargain.

Obi Toppin FD - $4700 DK - $4900
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 27.53 DK - 28.56

Can we believe in the Obi Toppin minutes? I really, really want to. He’s played 36 and 34 minutes (one of those off the bench) in the last two games, averaging 18 points in that short stretch. He’s going to be mostly a corner three guy and tasked with getting out in transition.

So the assists and rebounds aren’t likely to come in bunches, but they’ve been there. And on FanDuel he’s coming at a cheaper price for a position that is sometimes tough to fill.

If Bam Adebayo sits again then Thomas Bryant (FD 4400 DK 3000) would make for basically a must play on both sites at these prices.

Patrick Williams (FD 4600 DK 3600) got the start for the injured Zach Lavine last game and would be in line for a lot of minutes once again if Lavine is still out.
