Point Guard/ Shooting Guard

Tyrese Maxey FD - $10100 DK - $8900
Opponent - IND

The Sixers come in with the highest projected game total on the slate and that’s for a good reason (or reasons). They’ve been firing on all cylinders this season and now match up with the Pacers who run the league’s fastest pace and play the third-worst defensive efficiency. That’s something of the sweet spot where we are concerned.

Tyrese Maxey is, of course, coming off the 50-point game on Sunday, but has been balling out in general this season with the backcourt now full in his hands after the James Harden trade. He’s expensive on FanDuel, but the sub-$9K price on DraftKings works well with making lineups.

Kyrie Irving FD - $8600 DK - $8700
Opponent - NO
Proj Pts FD - 47.06 DK - 50.2

We typically want to play Kyrie Irving when Luka Doncic is out of the mix, but the former has been running so well that this is still a cash game spot for him. He’s taken 19 or more shots in each of the last four games, averaging 26 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.3 assists in that stretch. It gets the job done at his price points and New Orleans is a bottom-10 defense on the season.

Jordan Clarkson FD - $6900 DK - $6500
Opponent - POR
Proj Pts FD - 34.04 DK - 37.56

The Jazz flipped around their starting lineup a bit a couple of games ago, moving Keyonte George and Ochai Agbaji into the group after Walker Kessler got hurt and THT went to the bench. It’s meant some more minutes and more shots for Jordan Clarkson in the short-term and that could continue here.

He gets a decent matchup against the Blazers who have played surprisingly well on defense, but still aren’t a force to be reckoned with or anything like that. This game has a 229 over/under, the fifth highest of the slate and there is still some value on Clarkson’s number.

Small Forward

Jimmy Butler FD - $8100 DK - $8600
Opponent - CHA
Proj Pts FD - 47.17 DK - 49

You have to love the matchup for Jimmy Butler and the Heat on Tuesday, facing off against the Charlotte Hornets who are playing the league’s fourth-worst defense at the third-fastest pace. That’s, of course, a great spot. There are at least some concerns about Butler who has been struggling from the field (42%) and has seen the scoring drop because of it. But this team is still without Tyler Herro and there are shots to go around even with Kyle Lowry back in the mix after a one-game rest.

Shaedon Sharpe FD - $6800 DK - $7900
Opponent - UTA
Proj Pts FD - 39.57 DK - 42.3

The Blazers are up against it when it comes to their backcourt situation now that both Scoot Henderson and Malcolm Brogdon are out. And even when things have been going moderately “well”, Shaedon Sharpe was playing massive minutes. It’s only continued of late and he’s run 40+ in each of the last five games (two went to OT).

He’s good for 15+ shots per game and the rebounding has even come around at times. I like his FanDuel price a lot on this slate and as long as things stay close, the minutes have more than been there.

Consider Cameron Johnson (FD 5300 DK 5400) who saw the minutes come all the way back after an extended injury absence.

Power Forward/ Center

Joel Embiid FD - $12300 DK - $11500
Opponent - IND
Proj Pts FD - 68.56 DK - 71.26

Stacking Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid feels like such a solid move in cash games on this slate considering the outsized amount of production they have on this current 76ers team and just the great matchup they get on Tuesday.

Embiid has been his usual wrecking-ball self this season, wavering 32.4 points while also increasing his rebounds (11.7) and assists (5.7) from last season. It’s remarkable what losing James Harden in the offense has done for his base stats and he should continue to crush this evening.

Jerami Grant FD - $6700 DK - $7500
Opponent - UTA
Proj Pts FD - 38.17 DK - 40.24

Like his teammate Shaedon Sharpe, we’ve been able to rely on Jerami Grant for major minutes recently. Sure, some of it is because of OT games, but last time out this ran 41 in the loss to the Lakers. He put up 23 points on 8-17 shooting which isn’t the efficiency you want to see, but the effort (such as it were) was there.

I like him again in this matchup against the Jazz on Tuesday seeing as how Utah is playing the worst defensive efficiency in the league so far this season. Grant is coming at an excellent FanDuel price point.

Nicolas Claxton FD - $7500 DK - $6200
Opponent - ORL
Proj Pts FD - 39.87 DK - 38.8M

Nic Claxton played for just the second time this season on Sunday after a lengthy absence and it didn’t seem like he missed a single beat. Dude went for 10 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocks in just 27 minutes. He’s in line for similar production on Tuesday against the Magix.

The DraftKings price isn’t there for what he can provide at all. And while the FanDuel price is considerably higher, the blocks do count for more there.
