Guards
Kyrie Irving FD - $9400 DK - $9800
Opponent - IND
Proj Pts FD - 48.67 DK - 52.02
While things maybe haven't gone exactly as planned since joining the Mavericks(who seen that coming?), there is still a lot to like here as Kyrie checks a lot of boxes. First of all, Luka is facing a one-game suspension for his 16th technical foul which should hand a large portion of the ball handling and usage to Kyrie who has seen 23 and 24 shots in the last two games he has played without Luka. The Mavericks are also in desperate need of a win now sitting a game back of the play-in and luckily get a nice matchup against the Pacers' 26th-ranked defence. At a price that is back under $10K on both sites, Kyrie is in play in all formats Monday.
Tyrese Maxey FD - $7700 DK - $7700
Opponent - DEN
Proj Pts FD - 37.14 DK - 40.18
We have a matchup between top three teams in each conference with the 76ers currently sitting as five-point dogs which does tell us a little bit about the status of James Harden who has missed each of the last three games. No matter the status, I am on board with Maxey who has been playing terrific in the short-term(with & without Harden) averaging 26.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists for just over 43 fantasy points per game. We are projecting a close, high-scoring game and while the Nuggets rank 14th overall in defensive efficiency they have struggled against guards giving up the fourth most fantasy points to the position. Maxey is in play in all formats and would get a nice boost in PTS/$ if Harden sits again. Stay tuned.
Shaedon Sharpe FD - $7200 DK - $6200
Opponent - NO
Proj Pts FD - 30.61 DK - 33.04
Portland's 2023 first-round pick is finally getting thrust into a bigger role and has looked terrific in the process. He has played monster minutes(35+ in each), led the team in shots, and dropped 24 or more real points and 34 or more fantasy points in all three games. The opportunity should remain as Lillard could be shut down for the season and Simons is once again questionable. The price is getting out of reach on FanDuel, especially in a tougher matchup against the Pelicans, but on DraftKings I am on board as he provides a nice floor/ceiling combo at these prices.
Small Forward
Brandon Ingram FD - $9000 DK - $8900
Opponent - POR
Proj Pts FD - 40.2 DK - 43.87
I mentioned the Trail Blazers being short-handed above and that leads to a great matchup for the Pels who enter this game as 9.5-point favourites against a team who ranks 27th in defensive efficiency and also playing on a back-to-back. The player I want the most exposure to here is Ingram who has been terrific over the last two weeks(6 games) averaging 28.8 points, 8.5 assists, and 5.2 rebounds for over 50 fantasy points a game. All things considered here, I think Ingram is still a bit underpriced and will be a core play for me in all formats.
Power Forward/Center
Domantas Sabonis FD - $10400 DK - $10300
Opponent - MIN
Proj Pts FD - 55.67 DK - 60.68
At these prices, this has simply become a plug-and-play for me on a nightly basis. I mean, we are talking about a player who nearly puts up a triple-double every game and has been en feugo since the All-Star break averaging over 53 fantasy points a game. Not only does this game have the highest total(240.5) on the slate but the Timberwolves are playing on a back-to-back on the road and also rank 29th in fantasy points to centers on the season. Having Towns back playing alongside Gobert does lower the upside somewhat but the floor is just too consistent to pass up in cash games.
Drew Eubanks FD - $5200 DK - $4300
Opponent - NO
Proj Pts FD - 27.61 DK - 27.01
There is going to be a ton of value popping up on this slate with seven players in the top range questionable and about five more already ruled out. One player who is already solidified as a top value for us is Drew Eubanks as Portland's frontcourt is an absolute mess with Grant, Nurkic, and now Watford(last night) injured. Eubanks stepped into the starting lineup in each of the last two games and has been solid with 12 points and seven rebounds(27.8 DK) in the first game and seven points, 10 rebounds, and six blocks(38 DK) in the second. Against a tougher Pels defence, we have him projected for the low end of that and he is still popping as one of the top PTS/$ values at this time. Stay tuned but Eubanks looks to be a staple in our cash lineups tonight.
If multiple players are ruled out in Portland's frontcourt, you can also consider Nassir Little as a top value. He played 31 minutes off the bench last night putting up his second-best fantasy performance(36 DK) of the season. He would be another lock in cash if he starts and for GPP purposes, it might be better if he again comes off the bench at much lower ownership. Stay tuned.
