Guards
Brandon Ingram FD - $8000 DK - $8700
Opponent - HOU
Proj Pts FD - 41.75 DK - 42.7
Ingram let us down on Thursday getting into foul trouble but I am going back to the well here as I am looking at a balanced attack for tonight's slate. Not a bad place to start either as the Pelicans get one of the best matchups on the board facing the Rockets who run a Top 10 pace along with the 2nd worst defensive rating. Taking out last game and the game he got injured in and Ingram has been very consistent averaging 24.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists for 43.6 DraftKings points per game. He is a top target for me in all formats.
Tyrese Haliburton FD - $8800 DK - $8900
Opponent - TOR
Proj Pts FD - 40.3 DK - 41.46
Speaking of consistency, Haliburton has made the most of his trade to Indiana last season and has easily been their best player. He may not get the usage of other stars in the league but his best value for us in fantasy is the balance he provides across multiple categories as he comes in averaging 21.6 points, 9.9 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game providing us with 40 or more fantasy points in 10 of 11 games and 50 or more in six of those. This game has the second-highest total on the slate and the Pacers face a Raptors team that is short it's best player and have struggled defensively in the short term. Fire up Haliburton in all formats.
Jaden Ivey FD - $7000 DK - $5700
Opponent - BOS
Proj Pts FD - 33.35 DK - 35.87
Killian Hayes FD - $4000 DK - $3600
Opponent - BOS
Proj Pts FD - 11.98 DK - 12.41
This is a situation we will have to monitor throughout the day as Cade Cunningham missed last night and is in danger of missing a second straight game with shin soreness. After back-to-back double-doubles earlier in the week, Jaden Ivey let us down last night against the Knicks but the price is still in a good spot on DraftKings to go back to the well for a player who has provided us with a 5x or greater return in eight of his 12 starts this season and also flashed 45 point upside. Whether or not Cade plays, I want some exposure to Ivery here.
The injury news is more important when looking at Killian Hayes who was the main benefactor in Cade's absence last night. He played s season-high 34 minutes and contributed across the board with 11 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and three steals for 33.5 DraftKings points. That is a dream return from a player in the mid $3K-$4K range. Stay tuned for Cade news later in the day.
Small Forward
OG Anunoby FD - $8500 DK - $7300
Opponent - IND
Proj Pts FD - 40.09 DK - 40.8
With Siakam out of the lineup there have been multiple players who have seen added value and Anunoby has been one of them. He has taken 19 or more shots in three of his last five games and while there has been some inconsistency with the shot, he has provided more than enough in the secondary categories to give us an average of 38 fantasy points in those five games. We are also likely going to want multiple pieces of the Raptors in this matchup against the Pacers who run the second-fastest pace and have the third-worst defensive efficiency. The price has adjusted quickly on FanDuel making it not as much of a priority but on DraftKings in the low $7K range, I will have exposure in all formats.
Also consider: Saddiq Bey(DET) who has averaged around 25 fantasy points per game over his last five and could see some extra run if Cade Cunnigham is out again
Power Forward/Center
Jayson Tatum FD - $10300 DK - $10100
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 52.6 DK - 55.99
Tatum checks all the boxes and it starts with a terrific matchup against the Pistons who rank dead last in defensive efficiency. It also helps that the Celtics' defense has been below average which has led to a lot of close, high-scoring games which are great for fantasy purposes. Tatum's consistency starts with volume as he has taken 20 or more shots in five of his last six games, has a 31% usage rate on the season then adds fantasy scoring in all areas averaging 31.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.1 steals+blocks per game. All things considered, Tatum is my top PTS/$ payup on this slate.
Alperen Sengün FD - $6700 DK - $6900
Opponent - NO
Proj Pts FD - 36.6 DK - 38.5
The sites are finally starting to adjust their pricing on players based on the start of the season and Sengun is one of them. He started the season off the bench and then missed a couple of games with an illness but returned as a part of the starting lineup and he has not looked back. He has seen his minutes increase from the mid 20's to low 30's, is averaging 17.7 points and 9.6 rebounds in those seven games which have been huge returns for fantasy(average 37.1 DK). This game has the highest total on the slate so as long as it doesn't turn into a complete blowout, I love spending down a bit at the center position for a player who is playing about $1000 better than his current salary.
