With Stephen Curry out for the foreseeable future, the offense is now in the hands of these two guys and they are going to need to carry much of the load moving forward on that end of the court. It didn’t all work out the first game with the Warriors falling to the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. But Poole’s usage was great, taking 21 shots in his 36 minutes. He finished with 28 points while also adding five rebounds and three assists. An overwhelming amount of his fantasy production is wrapped up into scoring, so we are going to need him chucking from the rafters. But that should be the case in this game against the Magic.
And then there is Klay who actually led the team in shots on Sunday, putting up 23 total and finishing with 24 points, thanks in large part to the 6-12 from beyond the arc. He, like Poole, also needs to score because there wasn’t a ton happening with the peripheral stats. But really it’s tough to pass up the FanDuel price, especially which really hasn’t corrected for enough for the loss of Curry. He is likely to be a very popular play over there at shooting guard.

Khris Middleton is going to miss this game which should open up some opportunity in the Bucks’ offense even though Giannis still dominates much of what goes on over there. But we do know that when Middleton is off the court this season, Holiday has the second-highest usage rate at 29%, an 8% increase over what he’s typically done during the season. I think we have a solid opportunity to stack the two main offensive threats from the Bucks here with Jrue coming at something of a value assuming the opportunity increases here. Milwaukee is still playing for seeding here, in a logjam for that 2-4 slot right now so the minutes should be right on Jrue in this one.

The good news on Caruso is that he is fully back from injury and will be in the starting lineup moving forward. It’s a great sign for the guy who has spent much of the season on the sideline. But with him coming back from a wrist injury, there has been less of an issue ramping up into major minutes and I don’t think that’s going to be a problem moving forward. He played 33 on Monday evening and that could be the case once again here on Tuesday. He isn’t high up on the pecking order in the offense, but he isn’t priced as such either. He can contribute in a number of other ways and these prices are just too low considering the starting role. On a shorter slate, with punt plays may be harder to find, he really helps round out some salary in lineups.

While the Knicks’ season might be all but over, the team is clearly going through a transition now in which they are turning more of the heavy lifting over to Barrett in the offense. He’s been playing major minutes and the usage has increased substantially since the beginning of the season. Over the last month, he’s putting up more than 21 shots per game and averaging 24 points, six rebounds, and four assists in that stretch. He isn’t the most efficient scorer, but the minutes are making up for that over the long term. The price has’t fully caught up with how the Knicks are using him now and he’s now facing off against an Atlanta team ranked 26th in defensive efficiency this season. And with Julius Randle now ruled out, one would think there is a usage bump in Barrett’s future.

Barton has struggled with his shooting over the last month or so and that, along with some injury issues, has caused the price to really dip on both sites. It’s especially low on FanDuel where he’s starting to dip down towards the minimum. I think we can still buy him here even though the Denver offensive output, beyond Jokic, can rely on who Jokic works into the offense on any given night. But the minutes for Barton should be well up and over 30 if the game stays close and he’s still averaging double-digit shots per game over the short term. I’m fine running him here in cash games considering he does seem to be coming too cheap.

Proj Pts FD - 60.07 DK - 63.06 Like most slates, Giannis is the clear spend-up in DFS which has been the case almost the entire season. He’s just one of the very best to ever do it and this season it’s only seemed to get better, which feels almost impossible. It’s averaging 30 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 2.5 blocks+steals. The minutes are sticking right in the 35-36 range in close games meaning we aren’t going to get buzzed off here outside of a blowout. And that’s probably not in the cards against this Bulls team. This is a pretty easy call on the play and I suspect we see him with plenty of ownership once again.

In the case of Gallinari, it’s more about how much you trust the minutes from the last game. He ran 41 on Sunday against the Pelicans, a stark increase above what he had been doing in the starting lineup for the Hawks. Even if he can push towards 30 I think you are getting him at a steep discount. Gallo ended up putting up 27 points in that game on 11-21 shooting. The risk is worth it against the Knicks and the Hawks still definitely need to win every game possible down the home stretch of the season here.

Julius Randle was ruled out for this game very early which is likely to open up usage and other opportunities for the Knicks on Tuesday. We could see Obi Toppin get the start in his place. That happened two previous times this season with Obi playing 27 and 45 minutes respectively. The second game he put up a monster line with 19 points, six rebounds, and six assists. While I wouldn’t lock him into that kind of performance once again, he’d be tough to pass up at these punt prices if he were in the starting lineup. Let’s keep an eye on this situation seeing as how it could also be Jericho Sims in the starting slot, though I think it will be Toppin because he can floor space just a bit better.
