Point Guard
Fred VanVleet FD - $8600 DK - $8500
Opponent - CHA
Proj Pts FD - 42.63 DK - 45.88
Just five games tonight but some outstanding matchups await and it starts with the Raptors who get the best of them all against a hornets team that is 24th in defensive efficiency and run the second-fastest pace in the league. For Fred, it starts with the consistency as he comes in having dropped 40 or more DK points in eight straight(average of 45.0) and that is shooting just 34% from the field in that time. The best news here is that his DK price has dropped to its lowest point since late November which makes him an elite play for me in all formats.
Kyle Lowry FD - $5600 DK - $6600
Opponent - WAS
Proj Pts FD - 26.36 DK - 29.79
Lowry has been limited in both games since his return with the second more on the huge blowout than him actually being restricted as he still ended up playing 31 minutes. He should be back to full strength tonight and that is great news as his price has dropped to season-low on both sites. This game does have the lowest total(209) on this slate but this is an above-average matchup for the Heat as the Wizards rank 21st in defensive efficiency. All things considered, Lowry is on my shortlist for top PTS/$ plays tonight on both sites.
Shooting Guard
Donovan Mitchell FD - $8500 DK - $8400
Opponent - NY
Proj Pts FD - 39 DK - 42.32
Mitchell made his return to the Jazz on Friday and while he was eased back in playing just 22 minutes, he looked great dropping 8 of 10 from the field(6 of 7 from behind the arc) for 42.8 DK/38.6 FD points. He should get back to his usual rotation on Monday and that is great news as the price remains suppressed, especially on DraftKings where he has been in the $9K for most of the season. He is a high-volume shooter who also contributes multiple categories making him a great play in all formats on this smaller five-game slate.
Aaron Holiday FD - $3800 DK - $3100
Opponent - MIA
Proj Pts FD - 17.98 DK - 18.65
With Beal out over the last three games, Holiday has stepped into a starting role and is becoming relevant as his playing time has slowly started to tick up. He is mostly shooting dependant which can be a downfall but the good news is that he did attempt 10 shots last game and provided a nice 6x return. On a smaller slate with little to no value as of writing this, I am very interested in a min-price player who is going to start and see minutes in the mid to high 20's.
Also Consider: Josh Giddey(OKC) who has received a big bump in usage with no SGA in the lineup
Small Forward
Evan Fournier FD - $5300 DK - $5500
Opponent - UTA
Proj Pts FD - 24.99 DK - 27.82
The small forward position is once again a minefield and likely comes down to final injury news and starting lineups to fill the spot(s). For now, I like the PTS/$ floor that Fournier has been providing in the short term as the volume has been there averaging 15+ shots over the last four games while hitting 5x or higher in each of those. The matchup isn't great but it's not terrible either as the Jazz rank mid-pack(ish) in both defensive efficiency(12th) and pace(16th). He isn't going to win you a GPP but I like the PTS/$ floor Fournier provides for cash games tonight.
While inconsistent at times, OG Anunoby(TOR) is in a great spot here in the best matchup on the board but the question is how many Raptors is too many?? I would also be interested in Javonte Green(CHI) if Zach Lavine is out once again.
Power Forward/Center
Pascal Siakam FD - $9700 DK - $9200
Opponent - CHA
Proj Pts FD - 43.91 DK - 46.33
Let's get back to the best matchup on the board as the Raptors face a struggling Hornets defense(24th) that runs at a sprint pace(2nd fastest). While I love Fred VanVleet tonight, Siakam is at the top of my Raptors exposure as he has been on a warpath going all the back to late December. In those 21 games, he has only failed to reach 45 DK points five times while averaging 49.5. He has been a solid contributor all-around during that time averaging 23.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 2.7 blocks/steals. All things considered, he should likely be in the $10K+ range so this feels like a bit of a buy-low opportunity. Lock and load!
Darius Bazley FD - $5300 DK - $5400
Opponent - GS
Proj Pts FD - 29.86 DK - 31.56
While the Thunder draw the toughest matchup on the board and in the league(GS #1 in def eff), value is tough to come by on this smaller slate and Bazley fits the mold perfectly. First of all, he has started each of the last two games, saw a bump in usage last game taking 14 shots, and even at a rising price has hit 5x or higher at these prices in five straight games. It would also be a huge boost if Lu Dort were to sit out a second straight game with a broken nose. Stay tuned for news and starting lineups which will greatly affect my exposure to Bazley.
Bam Adebayo FD - $9400 DK - $9000
Opponent - WAS
Proj Pts FD - 41.86 DK - 44.36
If you are like me you are likely sick of rostering Jimmy Butler who hasn't been close to consistent yet maintains a price hovering around the $10K mark. The good news here when it comes to the Heat and their above-average matchup(WAS 21st in def eff)is that there are better options and it starts with Bam who has been an all-around beast lately. He comes into tonight having tallied a double-double in five of his last six games while averaging 19.3 points and 11.2 rebounds in that time and has provided at least 43 DK points in each. I see this trend continuing in this matchup tonight making him one of my favorite payups on the slate.
