Point Guard
Stephen Curry FD - $10000 DK - $10100
Opponent - HOU
Proj Pts FD - 52.88 DK - 55.71
Curry is coming on the back-to-back here so there’s some concern over whether or not he would sit. But the Warriors are also on the razor’s edge with the playoffs and it’s a little unclear how motivated they are to get there. They lost a close one to the Wizards on Friday, but Curry was great dropping 32 points, six assists, and five rebounds. The matchup against the woeful Rockets isn’t as good but it’s still a solid spot to target the superstar. Keep an ear out for any plans to sit but if he’s in then Curry is a strong cash option in the upper tier.
Russell Westbrook (FD 11300 DK 10900) is definitely in play if Bradley Beal is sitting out the second half of the back-to-back. The latter isn’t currently on the injury list but has been dealing with some injuries of late. Westbrook is already close to a play here but would be a must if Beal were to sit.
There’s some chance that Joel Embiid sits on the second half of the back-to-back for the 76ers on Saturday. If that was the case then I think we could rather safely roll Ben Simmons (FD 7400 DK 8200) at these prices.
I suppose you can consider Dennis Smith Jr. (FD 4000 DK 3400) if he’s starting again. But the Pistons are admittedly kind of a mess.
Shooting Guard
Donovan Mitchell FD - $8500 DK - $8800
Opponent - SAC
Proj Pts FD - 44.5 DK - 46.72
Joe Ingles FD - $5200 DK - $5400
Opponent - SAC
Proj Pts FD - 31.41 DK - 33.23
Jordan Clarkson is going to sit this game out again, opening up more opportunities for both of these guys. Typically, a bench player sitting out wouldn’t have all that much effect on the starters in terms of cash-game viability. But this Jazz situation is just a little different. Clarkson actually has the second-highest usage on the teams (28%) behind only Mitchell and is the lynchpin of their bench scoring. Losing him does free up more shots for the rest of the offense and should give Ingles more minutes off the bench as well. Neither of these guys is priced correctly for the tick-up in opportunity and implied usage. Plus, they get to face the Kings who are bottom-feeding defense. Sacramento has the worst defensive efficiency in the league, and it isn’t all that close.
Ingles will still come off the bench mind, but the rotation should extend and he would likely be part of the closing unit as well. Clarkson sat out last game and Ingles spiked his shot attempts to 13 in a whopping 35 minutes. Meanwhile, Mitchell jacked up a crazy 25 shots on his way to 37 points while chipping in five rebounds and four assists as well. You can stack these guys at shooting guard in cash and feel pretty good about it.
You can consider Josh Jackson (FD 4500 DK 5000) if he’s still in the starting lineup.
Small Forward
Kelly Oubre Jr. FD - $6600 DK - $6200
Opponent - HOU
Proj Pts FD - 33.38 DK - 33.41
Oubre has been playing major minutes in the short-term, running 36 or more in each of the last three games. That’s giving him a higher floor even if the price doesn’t totally reflect the opportunity. The averages over the last three are 20 points and eight rebounds with some assists and defensive stats thrown in there as well. Like we said with Curry, this is just such a good matchup against a tanking Houston squad and I think the Warriors run their guys on the back-to-back here. Even if Curry, for some reason, sat Oubre would look like an even better play.
OG Anunoby FD - $7700 DK - $6600
Opponent - CLE
Proj Pts FD - 37.5 DK - 37.41
Anunoby has had a weird couple of games here. He was ejected from the game against the Lakers on Tuesday and then really struggled from the field against the Bulls on Thursday, going 5-17 on shot attempts. If high-30s, low-40s minutes are on the table again then he is, for sure a play here especially on DraftKings in the mid-$6K range. The Raptors are running thin and still are vying for a playoff spot. That’s left a lot of minutes for OG in the short term and his usage rate has ticked up considerably.
Power Forward
Pascal Siakam FD - $8900 DK - $8400
Opponent - CLE
Proj Pts FD - 50.97 DK - 51.07
The Raptors have had a mess of a season and things are still looking somewhat bleak. Fred VanVleet is set to miss another game, and as of this writing, Kyle Lowry was also questionable after missing a bunch of time. That’s left a lot of the offense to run through Siakam in the short term. While the team results aren’t all that great (they’ve lost two in a row and six of their last eight), Siakam has averaged 28 points and six boards over his last four games. He’s taking close to 20 shots per game in that stretch and the price really hasn’t come up to reflect the opportunity. The DraftKings price is especially good and he’ll likely be a chalkier play over there.
Center
Chris Boucher FD - $6500 DK - $6800
Opponent - CLE
Proj Pts FD - 39.91 DK - 38.15
Boucher has been another beneficiary of the Raptors’ injury woes and has started the last two games at center. The last time out against the Bulls, where we played him everywhere in cash, was a slate-breaking monster. He dropped 38 points and 19 rebounds in the loss. He can be hit or miss for sure, but the per-minute fantasy scoring has been among the best in the game over the last couple of years. If he’s starting again on Saturday, and he should be, then look for us to play him in cash again.
Andre Drummond FD - $6100 DK - $6500
Opponent - BKN
Proj Pts FD - 37.58 DK - 38.55
It’s been up and down for Drummond since he joined the Lakers with some okay performances broken up by injury. But in his 26 minutes against Miami on Thursday, he was solid with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Los Angeles is big underdogs to the Nets, but Brooklyn can still give it up to centers especially if LaMarcus Aldridge is starting at the five for them, which he likely will be.
