Quarterback
Daniel Jones FD 6800 DK 5500
Opponent ARI
Proj Points FD - 17.35 DK - 18.11
Daniel Jones' status is largely unknown heading into the weekend, and carrying a questionable tag for Sunday's tilt with the Cardinals. If he plays, I don't mind running Evan Engram in any format. Heck, Jones himself might be playable at these prices on DraftKings if he has a clean bill of health. If he sits, the entire Giants' passing game is unplayable.
Running Back
Christian McCaffrey FD 10000 DK 9200
Opponent DEN
Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0
McCaffrey appears set to miss another week, opening up room for Mike Davis to shoulder the entire running back load once again. Davis was a highly owned cash game option earlier in the season, but the shine sort of came off him after McCaffrey returns. With 21 touches in each of his last two games, it's hard to argue that he's not seeing RB1 level touches. The Panthers are 3 point favorites in this one, and Davis should be in line for RB1 touches once again.
Chris Carson FD 7700 DK 6900
Opponent NYJ
Proj Points FD - 14.23 DK - 15.44
The word on Carson is that the Seahawks hope to ease him back toward a full workload, which unfortunately means it will be tough to depend on him for DFS purposes in cash games. Still, he managed 19 opportunities last week against the Giants, and could be in line for even more if the Seahawks have the commanding lead Vegas projects them for here. It's hard to imagine him getting elite, 25+ touches, but he could be a great big tournament option on the basis of his goalline touches alone here.
Josh Jacobs FD 7400 DK 6300
Opponent IND
Proj Points FD - 12.36 DK - 13.53
Jacobs was a limited participant in practice this week, which is a step up from where he was heading into last weekend. Unfortunately we likely won't know Jacobs' status before lineup lock at 1pm, but if we do, we should be prepared. Devontae Booker would be a cash game consideration if Jacobs were to sit, though as we saw last week, opportunity does not necessarily mean production for the Raiders' back-up running back.
D'Andre Swift FD 6900 DK 6500
Opponent GB
Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0
Swift has practiced in a limit fashion this week, and while it's good to see that he's recovering, I don't think it's going to make much difference for DFS purposes. This Detroit running game is a stay-away regardless in a game where our system sees the Packers as double digit favorites.
Antonio Gibson FD 6700 DK 6700
Opponent SF
Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0
Gibson is set to miss this game against the 49ers, which opens up a lot of opportunity in what is unfortunately not a very good offense. Peyton Barber had 14 carries last week, but turned those into just 23 yards from scrimmage. McKissic had double-digit targets for the 3rd time in 5 weeks, but in those other two weeks, he was unplayable. I like McKissic for big tournaments, but there is some risk if you want to consider him in cash.
Kenyan Drake FD 6500 DK 5500
Opponent NYG
Proj Points FD - 13 DK - 14.34
Drake is currently listed as questionable, but it is currently assumed that he will play Sunday's game with the Giants. If he sits, Chase Edmonds immediately becomes a very interesting cash game option.
Myles Gaskin FD 6000 DK 5600
Opponent KC
Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0
Well, Gaskin has joined Breida on the COVID-IR, leaving the running back duties to Deandre Washington and a host of very questionable options behind him. We were already concerned about tapping the Miami running game for this one, and it's not even totally clear that Washington will be an RB1 in the way that Gaskin or Ahmed were. This is a wait and see until we see something definitive.
David Johnson FD 5900 DK 5200
Opponent CHI
Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0
Johnson has been placed on the COVID-IR, leaving the running back duties to his brother from a different mother, Duke. We were excited to play Duke in this scenario the last time around, but it never really materialized to much fantasy production. In a tough match-up with the Bears, Duke is hardly a must-play.
Wide Receivers
Julio Jones FD 7600 DK 6600
Opponent LAC
Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0
Jones has been ruled out, leaving his plentiful targets on the table for the next guys up in the pecking order. Calvin Ridley drew 10 targets last week, and remains a viable cash game option if you have the money left over. Russell Gage drew 8 last week, and while he's certainly a riskier option than Ridley for cash games, he's got piles of big tournament upside.
D.J. Moore FD 7100 DK 5600
Opponent DEN
Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0
Moore is still on the Covid IR, which has left Robby Anderson and Curtis Samuel to sop up a considerable number of targets. Our system has flirted with playing Anderson even when this entire receiving corp was healthy, so freeing up these extra targets makes him nearly an automatic play in cash games for us this week.
Brandin Cooks FD 6900 DK 6100
Opponent CHI
Proj Points FD - 14.31 DK - 17.25
Keke Coutee FD 5600 DK 5000
Opponent CHI
Proj Points FD - 12.8 DK - 15.68
Both Coutee and Cooks are questionable heading into this weekend, though Coutee at least practiced in full on Thursday and Friday. The absence of either would make the other nearly a must play, with Fuller, Stills, and out of the picture. We're going to consider both if they are both active, as there is considerable upside in being the only realistic options for a quarterback as good as Watson.
Kenny Golladay FD 6600 DK 6000
Opponent GB
Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0
Golladay continues to miss practices, and in a game where Detroit will likely be playing catch-up, you have to think about how this impacts their passing game. Recently Golladay's absence has created space for Marvin Jones Jr. to spread his wings, garnering 12 targets in each of his last two games. While those targets haven't always turned into production, he still has to be considered a high upside target for big tournaments. There's a strong argument to running him out there in cash games, but the wide receiver table is pretty crowded this week.
