Mavericks (6.5) vs. Clippers (-6.5)

Well Sunday was really something huh? After a late Kristaps Porzingis scratch and the series maybe hanging in the balance, Luka Doncic (FD $11000 DK $11000), a gimpy ankle, put up a performance for the ages, with 43 points, 17 rebounds and 13 assists capped off by a buzzer-beater three in OT to win it. It was spectacular. Our projection system ultimately landed on Doncic for cash games and we rode it at very low ownership. It paid off. After Sunday’s game, I doubt folks put on the fade again. He could now be the highest-owned player on this two-game slate and that would be correct. He’s averaging a triple-double through the first three four games with a 30/10/10 line. That’s incredible considering the defenders he’s facing. All Luka again on this slate.

Trey Burke (FD $4400 DK $4500) got the start for Porzingis and crushed value in his 37 minutes (including OT) with 25 points, five rebounds and two steals. If he got the nod again, Burke would be a near-must value for the slate which could end up very much with a stars and scrubs approach.

Even at only 16 minutes, Boban Marjanovic (FD $4200 DK $3800) is still a DraftKings consideration seeing as how he doesn’t need much court time to hit value at that price.

On the other side of the ball, stacking Doncic with Kawhi Leonard (FD $10400 DK $10000) is the high-floor move for this slate. Seeing as how Paul George is struggling so much, Kawhi led the team in shots again with 22 (including 10 trips to the line) and poured in 32 points, nine rebounds and four assists. He hit 42 minutes in regulation and you have to assume the Clippers will go the full load again not wanting to face an elimination game in game six.

Speaking of Paul George (FD $7500 DK $8200), the price is way down on FanDuel. I think I’m willing to take the risk today that the shooting turns around. He’s been anything but Playoff P, but NBA players tend to regress to their personal means and he’s just not a candidate to continue playing this poorly.

Jazz (-2.5) vs. Nuggets (+2.5)

The Nuggets switched up their starting lineup on Sunday, putting in Monte Morris and Jerami Grant for Torrey Craig and Michael Porter Jr. It nearly worked with Denver ultimately losing by two, 129-127. I think they’ll stick with that group again considering how close they got. The biggest surprise was the Paul Millsap (FD $5000 DK $5000) run. He ran, an out of nowhere, 35 minutes and put up 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists. If that’s the Denver plan going forward then he’s a near-must play cash start especially on FanDuel. The middle tier salary will help fit the superstars.

It’s the same case with Jerami Grant (FD $4800 DK $4700) and Monte Morris (FD $4000 DK $4000). The prices on both didn’t really adjust and they help fit at tougher positions on the slate, PF and PG respectively. They’ll make a Luka/Kawhi and maybe another big name feasible. Granted neither did all that much with their considerable run, but it would be tough to fade the minutes at their prices.

One reason the other Nuggets didn’t put up a ton of points in game four was that Jamal Murray (FD $7800 DK $8000) kept them all for himself. He was outstanding with 51 points on 18-31 (9-15 from three) and it’s a shame Denver couldn’t capitalize on his game with a win.

On the Jazz side, I’m not seeing crazy amounts of value. Rudy Gobert (FD $7600 DK $7600) might be the one solid cash play seeing as how it’s basically only him and Jokic at center on FanDuel. He’s averaging 19 points and 10 rebounds for the series though hasn’t had a block in either of the last two.

Donovan Mitchell (FD $8500 DK $9700) continues to shoot at crazy volume but I still prefer the other upper-tier plays on this slate.
