FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Monday, 2/10/20

The trade deadline is in our rearview, the All-Star break is coming down the pike, but there's still plenty of basketball action to sink our teeth into for a Monday slate. Let's get to it on a pretty full NBA slate for DraftKings and FanDuel.

Point Guard

Reggie Jackson FD - $5900 DK - $6600
Opponent - CHA
Proj Pts FD - 33.88 DK - 35.6
Jackson continues to put up a ton of shots in the Pistons “offense” with Derrick Rose on the shelf and that isn’t likely to change as long as the latter is out. He’s scored 25, 28, and 20 points in each of the last three games with nine assists in two of the last three. It’s the dimes that are particularly encouraging for maintaining a higher fantasy floor and the minutes should be there as long as the game stays close. The Pistons have very few options at these point and the matchup against the Hornets is okay enough considering they are awful at defense, though do run a super slow (98.7) pace.

Malcolm Brogdon FD - $6500 DK - $6900
Opponent - BKN
Proj Pts FD - 36.2 DK - 37.39
There’s been some weird game scripts with Brogdon of late which do place him as a prime candidate for a cash game play on Monday because the price is still in check. He’s shot poorly from three over the last five (29%) and the minutes have fluctuated in a weird way. But I do believe the plan in close ones is to play him 33-34 and that’s enough to make a play at these prices on both sites. The Nets don’t bring a ton of perimeter defense and have trouble defending the pick and roll. This is a good spot for Brogdon who should have a higher minutes floor.

If D'Angelo Russell sits out again then Jordan McLaughlin (FD $4600 DK $5300) would be a solid cash game play again considering the minutes floor would be pretty high.

If Jimmy Butler remains out then Kendrick Nunn (FD $4600 DK $6000) and Goran Dragic (FD $5400 DK $5900) are both still very much in play.

Shooting Guard

Caris Levert FD - $5600 DK - $7000
Opponent - IND
Proj Pts FD - 32.45 DK - 33.87
With Kyrie Irving out until at least the All-Star Break, LeVert has been carrying a massive load for the Nets. He entered the starting lineup three games ago and in that span has casually averaged 30 points, six assists and three rebounds. He’s broken it out of the box and is leading the team in usage in that span as well putting up nearly 20 shots per game. The price has come up for sure, but not requisite with the amount of opportunity he’s getting in the short term with both the minutes and the shots. Even in a tougher matchup against the Nets, LeVert is still very much a cash game play on this slate.

Victor Oladipo FD - $5300 DK - $4200
Opponent - BKN
Proj Pts FD - 31.68 DK - 33.06
It’s been a slow start for Oladipo since coming back from the year-long absence because of his leg injury. He’s getting up shots in the offense, averaging 14 looks per game in just 24.5 minutes over the last four games. They’ve all been Pacers’ losses and Dipo’s fantasy production has been lacking to say the least. He’s only putting up 11 points per game with very few other stats to speak of. But I’m willing to buy low at least on DraftKings especially if the minutes continue to increase.

If Kyle Lowry is out again then Fred Vanvleet (FD $6500 DK $7600) and Terence Davis (FD $4000 DK $4800) would be strong plays again, especially on FanDuel.

Small Forward

Pascal Siakam FD - $8300 DK - $8100
Opponent - MIN
Proj Pts FD - 44.61 DK - 45.46
Siakam has struggled from the field over the last four games, shooting 38% on 19 shots per game and a miserable 13% from three on four attempts per game from beyond the arc. That’s a brutal stretch and has led to something of a price stagnation. All the better for our purposes because these things tend to round out in the long term and the Raptors get a nice matchup against the Timberwolves who are a below-average defense and struggle to defend bigger wings.

Kelly Oubre Jr. FD - $6700 DK - $7300
Opponent - LAL
Proj Pts FD - 38.49 DK - 38.48
This is a bad matchup for Oubre considering the Lakers are the fourth-best defensive efficiency team in the NBA. But the key for Oubre is that his minutes floor is about as high as anyone in the league. Oubre’s played 39 minutes per game over the last five with an average of 25 points and seven rebounds. He’s been getting up about eight threes per game and knocking them down at around a 45% clip as well. The Suns will need his length in this matchup and he does shift up to the four more with Saric out again. I’m more a fan of Oubre’s price on FanDuel considering the position isn’t all that deep.

Along the same lines, Mikal Bridges (FD $4600 DK $4800) is still playing solid minutes with Saric out.

Power Forward

Christian Wood FD - $8100 DK - $7200
Opponent - CHA
Proj Pts FD - 42.14 DK - 43.52
In the two games following the Pistons trading away Andre Drummond, Wood has played 35+ in each and averaged 22 points and 12 rebounds along with some assists and blocks thrown in there as well. There’s every reason to expect his opportunity continues like this at least in the short term with the Pistons likely committed to the tank and really short on big men. Wood has always been a fantastic fantasy points per minute guy and it sure looks like he can sustain the price increase. He’s still an awesome value on DraftKings.

John Collins FD - $7500 DK - $8500
Opponent - ORL
Proj Pts FD - 44.3 DK - 45.67
He went crazy in the double-overtime win against the Knicks on Sunday finishing with 32 points and 16 rebounds in 50(!) minutes. The key though is that was 40 minutes in regulation and you’re going to be hard-pressed to find that kind of on-court time from a big man in this day and age. Sure there are some teams who give their bigs that kind of run, but not many. And it’s been the plan for Collins in the short-term seeing as how he’s averaged 38 minutes per game in regulation over the last five. Dude’s also managed a 26 point, 11 rebound line in that stretch and the price, especially on FanDuel, hasn’t caught up to match it.

Serge Ibaka (FD $6700 DK $6500) is still a bargain with Marc Gasol out.

Center

Thon Maker FD - $4100 DK - $4300
Opponent - CHA
Proj Pts FD - 28.8 DK - 27.71
Much like Christian Wood, Maker’s minutes have increased dramatically since the Drummond trade, running 34 and 29 respectively over the last two. Unlike Wood, the fantasy production hasn’t been as consistent with a 19/7/2 game in the first followed by a 7/3/2 game in the second though he did have three blocks in the latter one. I’m still fine buying at these near-punt prices at a weaker position seeing as how he doesn’t have to do much in order to hit value and the minutes do seem like they’ll be there.

After Maker, who admittedly isn’t a slam dunk, there are a few decent options. Nikola Vucevic (FD $8600 DK $8900) definitely has some big games in him with three double-doubles in the last seven games and he went for 21 points and 14 rebounds the last time out against the Bucks. But it’s been an inconsistent run for him this season. So yes, he has the Hawks as an opponent and I’m still a little worried about the production.

Rudy Gobert (FD $7700 DK $7800) has been a double-double machine this season, not reaching that benchmark only once in his last 16 games. So yes, I love the floor on the guy considering he does this just about every game. But there’s something of a hard ceiling on his production because he’s just not all that of a prolific scorer.
