Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 11/27/18

Tuesday brings us a big 10-game slate with just one team(OTT) playing on a back to back and one other team(LAK) playing a third game in four nights. With the season a little over the quarter mark, I will be starting to implement more advanced stats on the cheatsheets and in my articles courtesy of NaturalStatTrick. Let's jump in and take a look at some of the top plays at each position.

GOALIE

Carter Hutton FD - $7900 DK - $8100
Opponent - SJ
Proj Pts FD - 15.94 DK - 3.99

Tonight I will be starting with Carter Hutton and the hottest team in the league. The Sabres come into this matchup on a nine-game winning streak and now sit just one point behind the Lightning for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. I am not sure anyone saw this big of a turnaround a season after they finished with the league's worst record. A lot of the success comes in part of their new #1 goalie, Carter Hutton who has been phenomenal lately winning seven straight while allowing just 13 goals on 198 shots(.934 save %). Tonight the Sabres are at home vs. the Sharks who have been shut out in back to back road games and have lost four of their last five road games. Hutton also comes at a bit of a discount from some of the other top goalies making him a terrific PTS/$ option in all formats.

Devan Dubnyk FD - $9100 DK - $8500
Opponent - ARI
Proj Pts FD - 20.07 DK - 5.02

It will be hard to trust Dubnyk in cash games tonight as he is not only at the top of the salary on both sites but has struggled lately going 5-4 in his last 10 starts(pulled in his last start) with a .898 save %. I do like him as a GPP pivot tonight as the ownership could be lower due to those factors and he also gets an elite matchup. The Wild are at home against a Coyotes team that has lost four straight and eight of their last 10 games while scoring just 18 goals and now rank 29th overall on offense. With a combination of low ownership and big upside, Dubnyk is a great play in large field tournaments tonight.

CENTERS

Jack Eichel FD - $7600 DK - $7000
Opponent - SJ
Proj Pts FD - 13.62 DK - 5.03

I just can't help myself writing up Jack Eichel every time the Sabres hit the ice. Not only has he been red-hot with points in six straight(three multi-point games) with 11 points in his last 10 games but he has also added a high floor sustaining a 4+ shots per game mark for the season with an elite 19.03 iCorsi/60 rating. Then to top it off, his price has dropped once again on DraftKings making him an elite PTS/$ in a matchup against the Sharks who struggle on the road. Until his price hits elite status with McDavid, MacKinnon, Seguin and others I will be rostering Eichel in all formats on a nightly basis.

Stack with: Jeff Skinner, Jason Pominville

Sean Couturier FD - $6500 DK - $5900
Opponent - OTT
Proj Pts FD - 10.86 DK - 3.55

Dipping deeper down into the mid-range on both sites we find Sean Couturier of the Flyers who started the season slow with just three points in his first 11 games but has heated up lately. Over his last 12 games, he has tallied 15 points and seen his shot volume go way up with 40 shots in that time(3.3 per game). He skates on the top line and powerplay unit but what stands out the most tonight is the matchup as the Senators are not only playing back to back games on the road but have been a disaster on the road this season allowing over five goals per game. Fire up Couturier in all formats.

Stack with: Claude Giroux, Travis Konecny

Also Consider: Evgeni Malkin(PIT) especially on DraftKings where he is the 8th most expensive center and has points in seven straight games

WINGERS

Patrik Laine FD - $8400 DK - $7900
Opponent - PIT
Proj Pts FD - 11.94 DK - 4.41

This Jets/Penguins game has a massive 6.5 Vegas Total tonight so getting exposure to one or more players will be key on this slate. No better place to start than with the hottest player in the league in Patrick Laine who is coming off an incredible five-goal effort and has 16 over his last 10 games after scoring just three in his first 12 games. Even without all the scoring upside he has provided a high floor with 46 in those 10 games while skating just over 16 minutes per game on the second line and top powerplay unit. He is a streaky scorer so keep rostering him in all formats until he cools off.

Stack with: Kyle Connor, Bryan Little

Alex Tuch FD - $5300 DK - $5700
Opponent - CHI
Proj Pts FD - 8.3 DK - 3.73

If you have been targeting against the Blackhawks defense early in the season you have likely been profitable. Coming into this matchup they have allowed four or more goals in three straight and 10 of their last 14 games and sits 26th overall on defense(3.38 goals per game) while also allowing over 33 shots per game. I talked about Alex Tuch earlier in the season when he was shooting like a madman and while the shot volume has gone down(18 over last 10 games), the production has stayed consistent as he has tallied four goals and eight assists over his last 10 games. With a sub $5K price tag on both sites, he is a viable option in all formats.

Stack with: Cody Eakin, Max Pacioretty

Also Consider: Jamie Benn(DAL) on DraftKings as the 21st most expensive winger and Craig Smith(NSH) as a value play on both sites

DEFENSEMEN

Matt Dumba FD - $5700 DK - $6100
Opponent - ARI
Proj Pts FD - 7.85 DK - 3.38

Dumba continues to provide elite PTS/$ value with a price tag right around the $6K mark on both sites and is easily my top D-man on this slate. Over his last 10 games, he has tallied six goals and four assists while firing a whopping 40 shots on goal. He now has 17 points on the season which puts him inside the Top 10 in the league among all defensemen and the opportunities aren't going away as he is averaging 24 minutes of ice-time on the second pairing and second powerplay unit. Fire him up with confidence in all formats tonight.

Colin Miller FD - $4400 DK - $4900
Opponent - CHI
Proj Pts FD - 6.41 DK - 2.61

I talked about loving this matchup for the Golden Knights tonight as they face a Blackhawks team that is tumbling down to the bottom of the league after losing 11 of their last 14 games and rank 26th on defense and have given up the fourth-most scoring chances per 60 minutes. Miller is a player who checks every box as he has provided a nice balance of shots(20) and blocks(16) over his last 10 games and has also provided upside with 10 points in that span. He gets a lot of opportunity in the Vegas offense skating over 20 minutes per game on the second pairing and top powerplay unit. Fire him up in all formats.
