We already highlighted Stephen Strasburg and Blake Snell in our 9/18/18 picks article. We also highlighted the Tampa Bay Rays and Arizona Diamondbacks as a popular game stacks at their respective team price points. Here we will look at some other (possible GPP) considerations.

Opponent - COL (Kyle Freeland) Park - LAD
FD - 42.81 DK - 23.97
I normally list GPP only options in this article but with so many terrific options on the mound tonight, I feel we can consider the following pitchers in all formats as well. It starts with Clayton Kershaw who has been dealing since returning from injury after the All-Star break holding opponents to two or fewer earned runs in nine of his 10 starts(2.26 ERA/2.97 xFIP) including the Rockies in Coors two starts ago. This matchup tonight is essentially a playoff game as the Dodgers only hold a .5 game lead on the division over the Rockies. Last night it was Ryu who shut down the Rockies offense going seven strong allowing just four hits and no earned runs. Kershaw is clearly a better pitcher and has a great opportunity to top that performance, especially with Trevor Story day-to-day with elbow soreness.
Opponent - KC (Eric Skoglund) Park - PIT
FD - 38.14 DK - 20.08
Speaking of pitchers who have been dealing in the second half, we have Jameson Taillon. While the upside has been somewhat capped with a 20% K rate, he has provided a very high floor at an affordable price allowing two or fewer earned runs in eight of his second-half starts and no more than three in any of his 10 starts for a 2.49 ERA. For the season, that strong performance has lowered his ERA to 3.37 with a 3.66 xFIP. The best part about this pick is the matchup as the Pirates are big -210 favorites at home against a Royals team that ranks 25th in runs scored overall and rank bottom 10 in woBA and wRC+ against right-handed pitching. At his price, he can definitely be considered in all formats.
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Dyland Bundy(BAL)
Opponent - BAL (Dylan Bundy) Park - BAL
FD - 8.16 DK - 6.18
Opponent - BAL (Dylan Bundy) Park - BAL
FD - 10.41 DK - 7.86
Opponent - BAL (Dylan Bundy) Park - BAL
FD - 10.01 DK - 7.72
While this game features two teams are battling for nothing as both have been out of the playoffs for a long time it does provide us some upside bats at affordable prices. The Jays are favorites on the road and it makes sense as they will face Dylan Bundy who is having a second half to forget. He has allowed 45 earned runs over 52.2 innings(10 starts) and to make matters worse he has allowed a whopping 18 home runs(22.2% HR/FB) and 38% hard contact against. The Jays rank in the bottom half of the league in offense this season but are giving their young players opportunities and they can help save some salary to help get the upside, expensive pitching in your lineups. It starts with Rowdy Tellez who despite striking out at a 29% rate since being called up, is hitting .400 with a .419 OBP. Next, we have Lourdes Gurriel who is getting opportunities hitting second in the lineup and is starting to get his groove back after an injury that stopped his 12-game hit streak back in August. After those two, we will have to wait for lineups to come out as the Jays have shaken up the lineup on a daily basis.
