Hockey Picks Daily Fantasy Expert Advice
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 4/7/18
Hello hockey fans and welcome to another day of NHL action here at DFSR. Today, we have 15 games on tap for us but for the purpose of this article, we will be focusing solely on the 14-game main slate on both sites. Even though there is one game tomorrow, this will be the last NHL slate for the regular season. It has been my pleasure writing for DFSR this year and I'm not sure anyone realizes how much fun I've had in doing so. I love the game of hockey and I hope everyone has enjoyed reading my articles. Until next time, my friends and let's get this party started.
Hockey is back and with it come our NHL projections which help inform these picks every night. When you purchase a DFSR NHL subscription to our base hockey projections you also get access to our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

GOALIE
Tuukka Rask FD - $9100 DK - $8400
Opponent - OTT
Proj Pts FD - 19.13 DK - 4.78
Choosing a goalie is a tough proposition at the very end of the regular season but when we are searching for one, it is a good idea to roster one whose team still has playoff implications to consider. Rask has allowed seven goals in his last two games but he reeled off four wins in a row before that while allowing only six goals during that span. What really helps make Rask my top goalie this evening is the fact that the Sens are bad at hockey as they own the league's 25th-ranked offense and they just got shut out as I'm writing this. The Bruins need to win their next two games to become the Eastern Conference champions so look for them to dominate this game from puck drop. Fire up Rask in all formats, my friends.
Jonathan Bernier FD - $7800 DK - $7900
Opponent - STL
Proj Pts FD - 15.6 DK - 3.9
Even though I will be rostering Rask in 100% of my cash game lineups, we need to separate ourselves from the masses in GPP formats. Bernier and the Avalanche control their own destiny this evening because if they win they are in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The veteran tender has some serious home/away splits as he is 6-9-3 on the road but he is an impressive 12-4 at home to go along with a .927 save %, two shutouts, and a 2.37 GAA. The Blues own the league's 24th-ranked offense and they will be playing on consecutive nights so fire up Bernier in GPP formats this evening.
CENTERS
Connor McDavid FD - $9300 DK - $8100
Opponent - VAN
Proj Pts FD - 19 DK - 5.4
I'll say this right now. If you fade this guy this evening, you could regret it very quickly. McJesus recorded three assists last game to give him 41 goals, 106 points, and 270 shots in 81 games played. I love rostering players this evening, who are playing their final game of the season in their home barn as they should be very motivated to give their fans their money's worth. The Canucks are ranked sixth-worst defensively and this should be a goal-fest so all things considered, McDavid is a sensational play and my top overall play at any position in all formats.
Stack with: Ty Rattie, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
Vincent Trocheck FD - $7100 DK - $6600
Opponent - BUF
Proj Pts FD - 15.71 DK - 4.56
Regardless whether or not the Panthers are playing for their playoff lives tonight, look for this guy to perform well in Florida's last home game of the regular season. Trochek has three assists and a whopping 21 shots in his last four games and he plays on the #1 line and the #2 powerplay unit so he is a solid play in all formats against the Sabres, who just allowed five goals as I'm writing this and they own the league's third-worst defense.
Stack with: Jonathan Huberdeau, Jamie McGinn
Dylan Strome FD - $3400 DK - $3300
Opponent - ANA
Proj Pts FD - 6.79 DK - 1.98
There is always value to be found at this time of the year and this young man has impressed lately as he has two goals and three assists in his last three games while skating on the #2 line and the #2 powerplay unit for the Coyotes. Strome rarely shoots the puck so he's tough to stomach for cash games but he is a solid GPP play this evening.
Stack with: Max Domi, Zach Rinaldo
Also Consider: Dylan Larkin(DET)
WINGERS
David Pastrnak FD - $7500 DK - $6700
Opponent - OTT
Proj Pts FD - 13.05 DK - 3.85
Like I said with Rask, this is a huge game for the Bruins and this young winger has had a solid season as he has 33 goals and 45 assists in 80 games. Even though he has been held pointless in his last two, he was on a torrid six-game point streak before that and he has averaged 3.8 shots in his last ten games which gives him a solid floor. The bottom-dwelling Sens are playing on consecutive nights and they just got blanked by the Pens as I'm writing this so all things considered, the Pasta Man is an elite play in all formats.
Stack with: Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand
Anthony Beauvillier FD - $3900 DK - $5100
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 7.78 DK - 2.21
With so many things up in the air this evening, why not throw some value picks out there? We have a terrific one at that in the rookie winger who is on a five-game point streak where he has five goals and three assists, and he offers a solid floor with a 3.2 shot per game average in his last 10 games. Beauvillier skates on the #2 line and the #2 powerplay unit for the Isles so he is a near-must play on Fanduel and a solid play over at Draftkings.
Stack with: Mathew Barzal, Jordan Eberle
Spencer Foo
There are value plays and then there is extreme value plays where a player is at the bare minimum price ranges on both sites. Enter Foo who has looked awesome in his last two games as he scored his first NHL goal and he has fired a whopping 13 shots on net during that span. The rookie winger is skating on the #1 line with Johnny Hockey and company so don't think twice and lock him into your lineups in all formats and spend elsewhere.
Stack with: Johnny Gaudreau, Nick Shore
Also Consider: Kyle Connor(WPG)
DEFENSEMEN
Alexander Edler FD - $5400 DK - $5200
Opponent - EDM
Proj Pts FD - 13.95 DK - 4.15
Tonight will be the Sedin twins' last NHL game and this guy plays amongst them on almost every shift at regular strength and on the #1 powerplay unit. In his last three games, Edler has a goal, three assists, and 11 shots to go along with a painful 20 blocks while averaging 27 minutes of ice-time in his last five. Look for the Canucks to finish strong here so fire up the veteran point man in all formats.
Erik Gustafsson FD - $4300 DK - $3800
Opponent - WPG
Proj Pts FD - 8.04 DK - 2.23
Some players play better against certain teams and for some reason, this young man gets fired up when he plays against the Jets. In only two games against them this season, he has a goal, an assist, eight shots, and four blocks, and he just scored a goal against the Blues as I'm writing this. The Hawks will show a ton of pride this evening against a division foe so fire Gustafson up in all formats.
Also Consider: Drew Doughty(LA), Brandon Davidson(NYI)

Khudobin is starting for the Bruins tonight and he is my favourite goalie in all formats.
