What We Know

James Harden and Clint Capela will rest tonight, while Chris Paul will return

Obviously the biggest news of the night. The expected return of Chris Paul is going to lessen the blow, but there’s still a ton of opportunity. It’s hard to say how many minutes Paul will get, but those minutes will be packed with FP. He’s worth a look in every format if you think he grabs 30 minutes. Eric Gordon will get the start at the two and is one of the best plays on the entire slate. Expect him to shoot a ton and play 34+ minutes. If you need value. Gerald Green, Joe Johnson, and Tarik Black are all candidates for extra run. Gerald Green stands out as one of the best value plays available.

J.J. Barea will miss the next two games for personal reasons

I know it’s a big surprise, but J.J Barea is out again. This time he’ll miss the next two contests with a personal reason. It’ll give Dennis Smith solidifies minutes in the rotation and bump Yogi Ferrell up to the 30’s. They are both in play, but Ferrell is a guy I have a ton of interest in at the mid-$5k tag.

What We're Waiting to Know

Damian Lillard is a permanent GTD until the birth of his child

This one is obviously weird and things can change with a push. Eh. I’ll stay away because of the uncertainty, but Lillard has insane upside in a match-up with a tired Pelicans team. If he plays, expect 45+ fantasy points with the ceiling for 80. If he is ever ruled out beforehand, Shabazz Napier would be the best play on the slate and it wouldn’t be close. If Lillard is out, make sure you have 110% Napier. McCollum will also pick up a few shots, but he can shoot 25 if hot, even with Lillard in the lineup.

Rajon Rondo and Nikola Mirotic are questionable to play against the Trail Blazers

Both of these guys missed last game, so we know what to do. If Rondo is out, DeAndre Liggins will grab 25 minutes. Ian Clark will too, but he will either way. Rondo out just means he gets those 25 minutes at point guard and is far more valuable in that case. If Mirotic misses, Cheick Diablo is hard to get away from at close to the minimum. He would be one of the top value plays on the board and a staple on a lot of my stud/dud teams.

Denzel Valentine is questionable to play against the Rockets with an

He started the day doubtful, so things are probably pointing in the right direction for Valentine to play. If he does play, I don’t have much interest with a Bulls team that’s not afraid to rest someone. If Valentine is soon ruled out, David Nwaba would see huge minutes, along with a few to Holiday.

Every Lineup Guys

Gerald Green FD - $3700 DK - $4700
Opponent - CHI
Proj Pts FD - 20.93 DK - 21.46

With James Harden ruled out, there’s a few minutes and a whole lot of shots to go around in Houston. We know Gerald Green loves to shoot the ball and his price is not ready for this usage he’s about to see. Expect 25-35 minutes and at least 15 shots. If a lot of those shots go in, he will keep going and can or up 40-50 fantasy points in a hurry. He can also go for 19 with a ton of missed jumpers. That just doesn’t really kill you at his price, so the risk is worth it in cash games. And tournaments, of course. Green is an elite play across the board and deserves 40%+ ownership.
