Hello my friends and welcome to another day of NHL action here at DFSR. Today, we have a decent sized six-game slate on tap for us with four teams(NYI, WSH, NSH, COL) playing on consecutive nights and an exciting home and home matchup between the Washington Capitals and the New York Islanders. Things could very interesting this evening, so let's get this party started.
Hockey is back and with it come our NHL projections which help inform these picks every night. When you purchase a DFSR NHL subscription to our base hockey projections you also get access to our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

Proj Pts FD - 13.89 DK - 3.47
After posting two games where he allowed four goals in each the proven veteran shut out the hapless Canucks last game to move his record to 7-2 in his last nine games to go along with an impressive three shutouts. While we shouldn't automatically expect Gibson to post another shutout this evening he should be able to cruise to another easy victory on home-ice as the Wings will be playing on consecutive nights and are ranked 20th defensively. The Ducks will be massive favorites here so lock Gibson into your cash game lineups and reap the rewards.
Opponent - SJ
Proj Pts FD - 15.18 DK - 3.79
While Gibson is a near lock for our cash game lineups, we need to separate ourselves from the masses to try and help us take down a large tourney this evening. After being sidelined due to an injury for a few games, Smith looked 110% last game as he shut out the Oilers and the dangerous Connor Mcdavid by stopping all 32 shots that came his way. While the Sharks own the league's 13th ranked offense while playing at home, their road offense dips all the way down to 24th overall so fire Smith up in your GPP lineups this evening.
Also Consider: Marc-Andre Fleury (GPP formats only after he got the early hook last game)
Opponent - OTT
Proj Pts FD - 16.54 DK - 4.84
As Chris mentioned a few days ago, this guy is usually much better on home-ice but someone forgot to tell him that recently. The superstar went off in Toronto last game with a goal, two assists, and six shots to give him a goal, five assists, and a whopping 21 shots in his last four games. His upside is through the roof today as the Senators are ranked 30th defensively and he offers an elite floor with an insane 4.1 shots per game making him first amongst centers in that category. All things considered, Seguin is an elite play and my top center in all formats.
Stack with: Jamie Benn, Alexander Radulov
Opponent - MIN
Proj Pts FD - 10.66 DK - 3.06
The Knights moved recently acquired Tomas Tatar to this guy's line and it has done wonders for him as he has three powerplay goals and nine shots in his last two games. While the Wild own the league's #1 defense at home, they own the league's worst defense on the road which is some of the wildest splits that I have ever witnessed in the NHL. Haula averages 2.4 shots per game this season but he has 19 in his last five so he offers a decent floor to go along with a high ceiling making him a solid play in all formats.
Stack with: David Perron, Tomas Tatar
Also Consider: Nathan Mackinnon(COL), Jean-Gabriel Pageau(OTT)
Opponent - NYI
Proj Pts FD - 16.01 DK - 4.7
Unless you have been living under a rock you know who this guy is as he recorded his 599th and 600th career goals against the Jets last game to give him a league-leading 42 goals to go along with 74 points on the season. What makes the superstar even more impressive is the fact that he is first overall in shots per game(4.32) and he just recorded an assist against the Isles as I'm writing this. Speaking of the Isles, they own the league's worst defense and they will travel to D.C. to face the Capitals this evening, so lock and load Ovechkin in all formats.
Stack with: Evgeny Kuznetsov, T.J. Oshie(PP), Nicklas Backstrom(PP)
Opponent - DAL
Proj Pts FD - 12.24 DK - 3.63
I love the Sens offense this evening as they welcome the Stars to town, who even though own the league's 11th ranked road defense, their starting goalie Ben Bishop is still injured and they have allowed nine goals in their last two games. That is pretty bad and the Senators have scored 12 in their last two with this guy tallying two goals and two assists during that span. Hoffman also has three goals, three assists, and 18 shots in his last five games, so fire him up in your GPP lineups and you can consider him for your cash game lineups as well.
Stack with: Matt Duchene, Ryan Dzingel
Opponent - WAS
Proj Pts FD - 5.83 DK - 1.67
Punt play alert! I badly want to fit Ovechkin and Seguin into my cash game lineups and this guy was recently promoted to the potent second line with Mathew Barzal and Jordan Eberle. Well, Ladd just scored a goal against the Caps as I'm writing this and he has 519 career points in 907 games, so he has a proven track record. As I mentioned earlier, The Isles and the Caps will be playing again this evening, so Ladd is a great inexpensive play in all formats, my friends.
Stack with: Mathew Barzal, Jordan Eberle
Also Consider: Rickard Rakell(ANA), Mikkel Boedker(SJ)
Opponent - NYI
Proj Pts FD - 8.38 DK - 2.42
I am riding the value train for both defensive spots today and let's start with the veteran workhorse, Dmitry Orlov. He has recorded a goal, two assists, two shots, and a block against the Isles as I'm writing this to give him a goal, three assists, four shots, and six blocks in his last three games. This game should be fun to watch this evening and Orlov plays on the #2 powerplay unit and kills penalties for the Caps, so fire him up in all formats and spend elsewhere.

I want a lot of exposure to this game this evening as you can tell and this rookie point man just recorded a goal, an assist, four shots, and two blocks against the Caps to give him a goal, two assists, six shots, and five blocks in his last three games. Pulock is simply too cheap for what he provides, so lock him into your cash game lineups and consider him in GPP formats this evening in what should be a goal fest in the Nation's capital.
Also Consider: Ryan Ellis(NSH) If you are spending up at the defense position.

Great stuff today...thank you!
I love Ladd today! Here’s a few more value plays on DK.
Chabot 3000 OTT D
Burakovsky 3300 WSH W
Kase 3700 ANA W
Thanks PLew and yes those are all decent value plays as well.
Ben Bishop is starting tonight for the Stars. I still like the Sens offense, just not quite as much now.
