Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 3/14/18

Hello hockey fans and welcome to another day of NHL action here at DFSR. Today, we have a modest five-game slate in store for us with two teams(DAL, EDM) playing on consecutive nights. There are a couple weak offenses to go along with a few solid offenses in action so today should not be short of excitement. Let's hop right in and take a look at some of my top plays.

GOALIE

Marc-Andre Fleury FD - $8700 DK - $8500
Opponent - NJ
Proj Pts FD - 13.8 DK - 3.45

Let's start with "The Flower" who has had many reasons to smile lately as he has won his last three games while allowing only three goals and earning a shutout during that span. The veteran superstar is 25-9-3 this season to go along with a 2.15 GAA and a stifling .930 save %. The Devils are ranked 19th defensively which definitely helps the win probability for the Golden Knights so all things considered, Fleury is an elite play and my top goalie in all formats.

John Gibson FD - $8600 DK - $8400
Opponent - VAN
Proj Pts FD - 13.46 DK - 3.36

I'll warn you right now that this isn't a safe play as Gibson has allowed eight goals in his last two games but he fired up six wins in a row prior to that while earning two shutouts during that span. The veteran has a huge ceiling tonight as the Canucks have been blanked in their last two games and they own the league's 27th ranked offense so lock and load Gibson in your GPP lineups this evening.

CENTERS

Evgeni Malkin FD - $9200 DK - $7900
Opponent - NYR
Proj Pts FD - 18.74 DK - 5.45

It still feels that this Russian superstar lives in Sydney Crosby's shadow but he seems to like it that way. Malkin is on a mad tear lately as he has three goals and eight assists during his current six-game point streak and he has an amazing 18 points in his last 20 games. The Rangers are ranked 25th defensively and Malkin Plays on the #2 line and the #1 powerplay unit for the Pens so lock him and load him in all formats.

Nazem Kadri FD - $6400 DK - $6000
Opponent - DAL
Proj Pts FD - 13.61 DK - 3.93

Since Auston Matthews has been injured this guy has stepped up as he has three goals and 11 shots in his last three games and five goals(three on the powerplay) and a whopping 25 shots in his last six. The Stars own a top 10 defense but their #1 tender is out and their backup allowed four goals last night and is already confirmed to start tonight. This is a perfect opportunity for Kadri and the Leafs to score some goals so strongly consider him in all formats this evening.

WINGERS

Rickard Rakell FD - $7100 DK - $7400
Opponent - VAN
Proj Pts FD - 14.67 DK - 4.22

Before his stinker last game against the Blues, the young sniper was on a deadly six-game point streak where he had eight goals and three assists. He also averages just under three shots per game while playing on the #1 line and the #1 powerplay unit and the Canucks are ranked 27th in defense, so look for a bounce-back game here and fire up Rakell in all formats.

Mats Zuccarello FD - $5600 DK - $5000
Opponent - PIT
Proj Pts FD - 9.26 DK - 2.76

The trade deadline moves seemed to help the Rangers as they've scored 3.4 goals per game since then and the veteran winger has three goals and 13 shots in his last three games while playing on the #2 line and the #1 powerplay unit. The Penguins aren't great defensively as they are ranked 20th in the league and something has fuelled this guy's fire lately so lock him and load him in all formats.

Stack with: Kevin Hayes, Ryan Spooner

Joonas Donskoi FD - $4300 DK - $4900
Opponent - EDM
Proj Pts FD - 8.73 DK - 2.5

This young man has a pretty good gig as he skates beside Joe Pavelski and Evander Kane on the #1 line and last game he also played beside them on the #1 powerplay unit. Donskoi has a goal and six shots in his last two games to go along with points in five of his last six and the Oilers are ranked 29th in defense. The Sharks should have a hay day tonight making the young winger a solid play in all formats at these cheap prices.

DEFENSEMEN

Morgan Rielly FD - $4600 DK - $5000
Opponent - DAL
Proj Pts FD - 10.46 DK - 3.11

Does this guy offer safety? Not really but when it comes to upside he is a great choice as he has four assists in his last two games and a whopping 18 shots in his last four while playing on the #1 defensive pairing and the #1 powerplay unit. Like I said earlier, the Stars are solid defensively but tonight should be an exception so fire Rielly up in your GPP formats.

Neal Pionk FD - $3900 DK - $3400
Opponent - PIT
Proj Pts FD - 6.93 DK - 2.14

We have a new fellow here in my column and it is much deserved as the youngster has an assist in each of his last two games to go along with nine shots and eight blocks in his last four. Pionk has also averaged 23.5 minutes of ice-time in his last three games while playing on the #1 defense pairing and the penalty kill, so lock him into your cash game lineups and spend elsewhere.
