What We Know

LaMarcus Aldridge and Manu Ginobili will be rested against the Rockets

Aldridge is the most important piece on this team with Kawhi on and off of the injury report and they can't afford to go into the playoffs with him at all fatigued. Manu is just old and you don't want to wear him out if you don't need to. With Aldridge out, Pau Gasol and Davis Bertans will both pick up minutes. We will get to Gasol in a bit. Manu only grabs 15 or 20 minutes a night, but those should go to Bryn Forbes and Danny Green. Neither jump off the page, but are serviceable against a fast-paced Houston team.

Hassan Whiteside and Dwyane Wade are out against the Blazers

These are 2 of the most injury-prone guys of the last few seasons and they'll join each other on the bench tonight. Whiteside plays decent minutes, but the problem is how many backups he has. Depending on how Miami runs their offense, it could be Bam Adebayo, Kelly Olynyk, or James Johnson that pick up substantial minutes. I don't love any of them, but Adebayo and Johnson make the most sense in this match-up with Portland. With Wade out, Ellington and Johnson will split minutes and I like both as cheap pivots at guard.

What We're Waiting to Know

Steven Adams is questionable to play with an ankle injury

Adams is an obvious integral part of this offense and there is a lot to look at if he's out. Let's say he plays. I like WCS less. I like Pat-Pat and Grant less. I like Westbrook more. If he misses, I'll go with a lot of Patrick Patterson and WCS. Adams is a great defender, so WCS would be able to dominate if he's not in there. As for Patterson, he will see 25-30+ minutes and has a ton of upside against a center who doesn't love the perimeter.

Jarell Martin is questionable to play against the Bucks

Martin played 30 minutes in each of the last 2 games, so this is certainly something worth paying attention to. If Martin plays, I'm not a huge fan of JaMychal Green. If he misses, I am. Green can pick up an easy 30-35 minutes and is typically very effective when on the floor. Marc Gasol is in play either way and should be in there for over 30 minutes.

Every Lineup Guys

Pau Gasol FD - $6000 DK - $5700
Opponent - HOU
Proj Pts FD - 24.93 DK - 24.9

With Aldridge out, you can basically pencil Gasol in for 28+ minutes. That's extremely safe. He could easily see 32+. With LMA out a week ago, Gasol picked up 32 minutes and put out 50 fantasy points. His price is still down at $6k and you're only needing 30 fantasy points at most. Clint Capela is a great rebounder and rim protector, but he struggles in space and with strong footwork. Gasol is still a master of both and can have a big game if leaned upon. He'll be a mainstay in each and every one of my lineups.
