What We Know
Tyler Johnson and Justise Winslow hope to play against the Bucks this afternoon.
Johnson is dealing with a pinched nerve in his neck but it hasn't really hindered him on the court, as he played 31 minutes against the Pacers on Wednesday with the issue. Having had a few days of rest he hopes to be good to go today. Winslow meanwhile was a full participant in yesterday's practice and plans to make his return from a knee injury that held him out for just over a month today, taking time from Wayne Ellington. In other Miami news James Johnson should be back in the rotation after serving his one game suspension against the Pacers for an altercation Monday against Toronto.
What We're Waiting to Know
Josh Jackson is questionable.
Jackson is nursing as hip strain that held him out of Friday's game, and is currently questionable for todays game against the Pacers. Marquese Chriss is also questionable and not expected to play which could leave Phoenix thin up front, making Dragan Bender an enticing play once again.
Evan Turner is questionable with an illness.
Turner missed Friday night's game and is currently listed as questionable for today's game with the Timberwolves. Shabazz Napier drew the start in Turner's spot Friday and saw 35 minutes. Napier is still priced up from his stint filling Lillard's slot in the starting rotation, but remains a value if he step's in for Turner again today.
Domantas Sabonis is questionable for the Pacers.
Sabonis is dealing with a sore left shoulder injured on Friday, and may be unavailable today in Phoenix. With Myles Turner out as well this could mean extended run for Al Jefferson at the five.
Every Lineup Guys
Anthony Davis FD - $10600 DK - $9800
Opponent - NY
Proj Pts FD - 51.45 DK - 51.73
We've got a long drawn out four game Sunday with two of our top plays in the system coming from the Pelicans trip to MSG to take on the Knicks. First up we have Anthony Davis. The Pelicans power forward is one of the best in the game, and though there's always that inherent risk of injury, on a short slate such as this safety is a relative term from the start. The matchup against the Knicks is solid, New York is one of the easiest teams to target at the position and are allowing over 50 FP on average in just their last five games. This game has just a two point spread and 218.5 projected total, so there should be plenty of fantasy production coming out of it, and brow is always a threat to explode for a 70 FP outing. On this short slate Davis is worth the risk.
Jarrett Jack FD - $5100 DK - $4700
Opponent - NO
Proj Pts FD - 27.72 DK - 28.17
Sticking with this same game, which boasts the second highest point projection of the day, we have Jarrett Jack. Jack has firmly inserted himself into the starting PG spot for the Knicks and should only benefit further now with the return of Tim Hardaway Jr to the starting rotation. In THJ's first game back Jack saw 33 minutes and came just two assists shy of a double double while paying 5X PPD or better for the third straight contest. The Pelicans are one of the best matchups you can ask for at the point, allowing the fifth most FPPG and playing the sixth fastest pace in the NBA. Jack is too cheap and on this particularly short slate he's a top play to target in both cash games and tournaments.
