Welcome back daily fantasy hockey fans. After a busy night in the National Hockey League last night, we are back with a smaller four-game slate with just one team(ANH) playing on a back to back. Let's dive in and take a look at some of the top plays at each position.
Hockey is back and with it come our NHL projections which help inform these picks every night. When you purchase a DFSR NHL subscription to our base hockey projections you also get access to our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

I actually feel rather comfortable rostering this Danish netminder today as the Flames are ranked 18th offensively while scoring only 2.89 goals per game and they have been playing some awful hockey lately with only two wins in their last seven games. Andersen is third in the league with 15 wins and first with three shutouts and after his last five games were on the road with a 3-2 record and 12 goals against, he returns to his home barn this evening in which I predict it will be a lopsided game in the Leafs favor. Fire Andersen up with confidence in all formats my friends.
Also Consider: Braden Holtby (WSH) GPP formats only.

While everyone and their ancestors will be all over Connor McDavid tonight(which isn't a bad idea), I like pivoting to this guy at cheaper prices against the Flames and their eighth-worst defense(3.26 goals allowed per game) who have allowed 12 goals in their last two games. Yikes! Although he didn't record a point last game, the young star fired four shots on goal to give him 20 in his last six games and he was on a four-game point streak prior to that. Matthews has been offering the safety for cash games and the upside that we are looking for in our GPP lineups this evening.
Stack with: Zack Hyman, Connor Brown

After being traded to Anaheim from New Jersey, this young man has a point in each of his last three games while averaging around 20 minutes of ice-time while skating on the #1 line and the #1 powerplay unit for the Ducks. The Senators allow 3.28 goals per game which is sixth-worst in the league, so look for Anaheim to score a few goals today, but because of Henrique's lack of shot output, use him in your GPP lineups only.
Stack with: Corey Perry, Rickard Rakell
Also Consider: Nazem Kadri (TOR)

The Flyers switched their lines up before last game and it worked wonders and leading the way was Voracek who had three assists and three shots on goal. Today, he gets an elite matchup against the Oilers and their third-worst defense(3.37 goals allowed per game) that has allowed 11 goals in their last two games. The star veteran has a goal, six assists, and 26 shots in his last six games and he plays on the #1 powerplay unit for the Flyers so fire him up in all formats.
Stack with: Claude Giroux, Sean Couturier
Opponent - PHI
Proj Pts FD - 8.77 DK - 2.25
The Oilers are very high on the former 4th overall pick in the 2016 NHL draft and two games ago he was promoted to the top line with superstar Connor McDavid. Since the move, he has scored two goals and he has fired a whopping 11 shots on goal while averaging 16 minutes of ice-time in those two games which gives him a bit of safety. At these cheap prices, he gives us exposure to McDavid and he is a great play in every single format as long as he skates on the #1 line.
Stack with: Connor McDavid, Milan Lucic
Also Consider: Alex Ovechkin (WSH)

Wow! This veteran point man has been on a tear lately as he is on a three-game point streak with a goal and three assists and he also has seven shots and 14 blocks in those three games. He is trying to carry the Oilers on his back as they try and battle for a playoff spot in the Western Conference and he already has a crazy 73 blocks which is third overall in the league. Lock Russell into your cash game lineups tonight.

I'm not a big fan of this guy in cash games, but if it's upside you are looking for, then he is your man as the Senators are awful defensively ranking 26th overall. Fowler has 11 points in his last 15 games and before last game, he was on a three-game point streak with two goals and an assist and he has averaged 29.5 minutes of ice-time in his last two games so he could help you win a tournament or two today.
