Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 12/4/17

Hello my fellow hockey fans and welcome to another day of NHL action here at DFSR. This evening, we have a small four-game slate in store for us, but it will definitely not be short of excitement, so let's dive right into some of my favorite picks.

GOALIE

Pekka Rinne FD - $8900 DK - $8000

I am probably going to sound like a broken record because this is the third time in a row that I have mentioned this guy, but it is a good thing as he has been sensational so far this season. The Finnish superstar has now won six of his last seven games to give him a record of 15-4-2 and a .926 save % and he has lost only once in his home barn. Tonight's opponent, the Boston Bruins rank 25th in offense while scoring only 2.71 goals per game, so all things considered, Rinne is my top goalie in all formats.

Also Consider: Braden Holtby (WSH) vs. SJ and their 29th ranked offense.

CENTERS

John Tavares FD - $8300 DK - $7700
Opponent - FLA
Proj Pts FD - 14.58 DK - 4.2

Johnny T has been a tough fade lately in large slates, so in a small slate like this against the Panthers' fourth worst defense(3.35 goals allowed per game), he has to be strongly considered as he has points in seven of his last nine games and has averaged three shots per game. The superstar center is first among centers with 16 goals and the offense runs through him at regular strength and on the #1 powerplay unit. Fire Tavares up with confidence in all formats.

Stack with: Anders Lee, Josh Bailey

Vincent Trocheck FD - $5900 DK - $5800
Opponent - NYI
Proj Pts FD - 13.96 DK - 4

Apparently, this guy loves to shoot the puck as evidenced by his eight shots last game and 22 in his last four and he has averaged 22 minutes of ice-time while tallying an assist and skating on the #2 line and the #1 powerplay unit for the Panthers. The young winger has 10 goals and 14 assists this season and tonight the Islanders and their sixth-worst defense(3.24 goals allowed per game) travel to town. Trocheck hasn't shown much upside lately, but with his insane amount of shots on goal, he is an elite cash game play.

Stack with: Jonathan Huberdeau(PP), Aleksander Barkov(PP).

WINGERS

Johnny Gaudreau FD - $7800 DK - $7400
Opponent - PHI
Proj Pts FD - 17.36 DK - 4.96

After being held scoreless for three games, Johnny Hockey finally broke the slump with a goal and an assist last game and he now has 24 assists(fourth in the league) and 36 points(third in the league). The Flyers are ranked 19th defensively and they have been losing games left and right lately, so the Flames should score a few goals this evening, but I'll warn you right now, he can put up a stinker at any time, so reserve Gaudreau to your GPP lineups only.

Stack with: Sean Monahan, Michael Ferland.

Craig Smith FD - $4300 DK - $4400
Opponent - BOS
Proj Pts FD - 9.79 DK - 2.86

I watched the Predators play the Ducks on Saturday evening and this veteran has been skating hard and shooting the puck whenever he can. The Predators rewarded him recently as they bumped him up to the #1 powerplay unit and he has a goal, an assist, and a whopping 15 shots on goal in his last three games. At these prices, he is a safe play in all formats.

Stack with: Kevin Fiala, Kyle Turris, Filip Forsberg(PP), Viktor Arvidsson(PP).

Also Consider: Jakob Voracek (PHI) Cash game formats only, Alex Ovechkin (WSH) GPP formats only.

DEFENSEMEN

Nick Leddy FD - $5600 DK - $6100
Opponent - FLA
Proj Pts FD - 9.35 DK - 2.82

Steady Leddy(I made that name up) keeps chugging along for the Islanders and he now has seven points in his last nine games, with four of those being multi-point performances and he has 21 points through 25 games. Those are terrific numbers for a defenseman and he plays on the deadly #1 powerplay unit with Johnny T and friends. Adding to the fact that Leddy has a goal, three assists, 12 shots, and nine blocks in his last four games make him a top choice in all formats.

Matt Niskanen FD - $4100 DK - $3100
Opponent - SJ
Proj Pts FD - 7.05 DK - 2.07

When looking for a value defenseman, I was scrolling down the list and this guy caught my eye. First of all, he is decently priced on FanDuel and ridiculously cheap over at Draftkings and second of all, he has been playing well lately as he has three assists, 11 shots, and seven blocks in his last four games while averaging 23.5 minutes of ice-time. Lock and load the veteran in your cash game lineups and enjoy the salary relief.

Also Consider: Roman Josi (NSH) GPP formats only.
