Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 12/3/17

Welcome back hockey fans. We have a fairly quiet four-game slate on Sunday but a lot to like from a matchup and value standpoint. Let's jump right in and take a look at the top plays at each position and for more recommendations, grab a copy of my daily cheatsheet which is posted in the comment section and in the member only chatroom.

Hockey is back and with it come our NHL projections which help inform these picks every night. When you purchase a DFSR NHL subscription to our base hockey projections you also get access to our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

GOALIE

Connor Hellebuyck FD - $7900 DK - $8200
Opponent - OTT
Proj Pts FD - 16.91 DK - 4.23

We have ourselves a small four-game slate today with limited options but one goalie that peaks my interest in all formats is the Jets Connor Hellebuyck. He has taken over as the teams #1 option this season and has been terrific with a 14-2-3 record and .923 save %. He wasn't on top of his game last time out giving up four goals but the offense got his back and his sixth win in his last eight starts. He is facing just over 29 shots per game for the season but has seen a few more lately(30+ in five of his last eight starts) giving him some added upside. The matchup is what I like the best as he faces an Ottawa team that despite broke out of a slump last game winning 6-5,  has only scored more than two goals once in their last eight games. I will be using Hellebuyck in all formats.

Also Consider: Malcolm Subban(VEG) in GPP formats facing a Coyotes team ranked 30th in offense and are playing the second of a back to back and third game in four nights.

CENTERS

Tyler Seguin FD - $8400 DK - $7600
Opponent - COL
Proj Pts FD - 15.85 DK - 4.69

I am not in love with the spot for Seguin today as the Stars will be playing on the road in a back to back but the position is pretty thin and Seguin has not only provided a ton of upside but also has a very high floor. He picked up an assist last night in a win over Chicago giving him 24 points on the season and has recorded 23 shots over his last four games and is averaging four per game on the season. The matchup is decent as he and the Stars face an Avalanche team that ranks 22nd in defense and there is enough value at other positions where you can safely play him in all formats.

Stack with: Jamie Benn, Alexander Radulov

Artem Anisimov FD - $5800 DK - $5800
Opponent - LA
Proj Pts FD - 9.8 DK - 2.84

It was a rough start to the season for the Hawks and especially Anisimov who recorded just two points over his first 10 games but has really started to look comfortable. He has been consistently skating with Patrick Kane and Nick Schmaltz and has eight points in his last 10 games and is giving us a nice floor for cash games averaging over three shots per game. Like Seguin and the Stars, the Hawks are playing on a back to back making it a little more risky than usual for cash games but it's a small slate and the price is right under $6K on both sites.

Stack with: Patrick Kane, Nick Schmaltz

Also Consider: Anze Kopitar(LAK) in GPP formats as the shot volume is lower and a tough matchup but multi-point upside

WINGERS

Jonathan Marchessault FD - $6400 DK - $6600
Opponent - ARI
Proj Pts FD - 13.07 DK - 3.85

There is a lot to like about the Vegas Golden Knights right now. No one could have predicted this level of success in their first season as they sit second to the Kings in the Pacific Division and own the league's fourth-ranked offense. The firepower has mainly been coming from the first line and one of the leaders has been Marchessault who has already tallied 23 points in his first 22 games. He has been red hot lately as well with points in six of his last eight games including four multi-point efforts and best of all he comes at a nice discount from the top options today even on a small slate. Fire him up in all formats.

Stack with: William Karlsson, Reilly Smith

Kyle Connor FD - $4500 DK - $5200
Opponent - OTT
Proj Pts FD - 11.72 DK - 3.26

I wrote up Connor on Friday and he didn't let us down as he potted two goals and 9 DK/34.1 FD points as the Jets beat down the Golden Knights in a 7-4 route. I will go back to the well again tonight for a couple reasons starting with the fact he is a top PTS/$ play as the price has barely gone up on both sites and he is, by far, the cheapest option on his line. He has also been providing us with above average shot volume with 30 in the last 10 games giving him a high floor and gets a nice matchup vs. the Sens who rank 35th overall in defense. He is a great play in all formats by himself and a high upside stacking option in GPP's with his linemates.

**Update - Connor will not play today vs. Ottawa**

Also Consider: Tyler Toffoli(LAK) in all formats with above average shot volume and upside with three goals in his last two games.

DEFENSEMEN

Drew Doughty FD - $5500 DK - $5400
Opponent - CHI
Proj Pts FD - 12.42 DK - 3.42

With just four games today, the defense position is a little slim picking but I know I won't be paying all the way up for Erik Karlsson who has gone pointless in eight straight games. Instead, I will take the discount with Drew Doughty who has been contributing consistently lately with points in seven of his last nine games and also provided a safe floor with 20 shots on goal. It's a road matchup vs. a tough Top 5 defense in Chicago but Doughty comes to us in the mid $5K range on both sites so get him in your lineups in all formats.

Josh Morrissey FD - $3900 DK - $3400
Opponent - OTT
Proj Pts FD - 8.75 DK - 2.48

If you are looking to grab some salary relief to fit in some top-tier forwards I don't mind rolling with Josh Morrissey tonight who comes to us in the sub $4K range on both sites. There isn't much upside there as he has recorded just nine points all season but he has tallied multiple blocks in 10 of his last 13 games and actually comes into tonight with a  three-game point streak. We aren't asking for much at these prices and he has just two fewer points than his much more expensive teammate Dustin Byfuglien.

Also Consider: Tyson Barrie(COL)
