Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 11/19/17

Hello hockey fans and welcome to another day of NHL action here at DFSR. Today we have five games in store for us with the action starting at 5 PM et. Let's dive right into the picks folks.

GOALIE

Henrik Lundqvist FD - $8900 DK - $7800
Opponent - OTT
Proj Pts FD - 15.4 DK - 3.85

The goalie spot isn't the easiest to decipher today especially since there are no Vegas odds available at the time of this writing. On that note, though, there are a couple of veteran goalies that have been playing well and they both have home matchups against teams who will be playing in back-to-back games. Let's start with King Henrik who stopped 40 of 42 shots last game and even though he's lost his last two starts, he's been playing awesome and he had six wins in a row previously. Ottawa is solid offensively, but they will be tired and Lundqvist is a solid play in all formats.

Jimmy Howard FD - $8000 DK - $8000
Opponent - COL
Proj Pts FD - 13.07 DK - 3.27

I'm thinking that it may be a good idea to split our exposure to these two tenders today. Howard has been stellar in his last four starts as he is 3-0-1 while allowing only six goals in those four starts. The Av's are also solid offensively, but they will also be tired this evening and they only scored two goals on Saturday in Nashville. I am planning on using both of these guys in cash games, but I slightly prefer Howard in GPP lineups because I feel that he won't be as popular as King Henrik.

CENTERS

Anze Kopitar FD - $6700 DK - $7600
Opponent - VEG
Proj Pts FD - 17.52 DK - 5

Before his recent stinker, the Slovenian star was on a 10 game point streak with two goals and nine assists. The offense runs through him at regular strength and on the powerplay. He's not the safest cash game play as he doesn't shoot the puck very often, but Vegas allows 3.06 goals per game which is 18th in the league, so Kopitar and company could score some goals today so fire him up in your GPP lineups.

Stack with: Dustin Brown, Aaron Iafallo

Dylan Larkin FD - $6000 DK - $6300
Opponent - COL
Proj Pts FD - 12.79 DK - 3.64

The Avalanche allow a sixth-worst 3.35 goals per game and they just lost 5-2 in Nashville, so it's smart to target players against them. Enter Larkin who offers both a high floor and a high ceiling as he has two goals, two assists, and seven shots in his last two games, He has also averaged an impressive 4.5 shots on goal in his last six games and is fourth in the league among wingers in assists with 15 on the season. Larkin is my top choice at center today in all formats.

Stack with: Thomas Tatar, Justin Abdelkader

 

Also Consider: Derek Gran(ANH) as a salary relief option in all formats

 

WINGERS

Anders Lee FD - $6400 DK - $6300
Opponent - CAR
Proj Pts FD - 11.58 DK - 3.35

This young Danish winger is in a nice spot in New York as he skates on the top line and the #1 PP unit with John Tavares. Lee has been on fire lately as he has three goals, three assists, seven shots, and three blocks in his last three games and he scored two last night against a tough Lightning squad. Look for the Isles' top line to keep on rolling today. Lee is a great play in all formats with his mid $6K price tag on both sites.

Teuvo Teravainen FD - $4800 DK - $5300
Opponent - NYI
Proj Pts FD - 7.88 DK - 2.29

I am expecting a high-scoring game in Carolina today and this young Finnish winger has been red-hot lately with three goals, four assists, and ten shots in his last three games while skating on the #1 line for the 'Canes and he's averaged just over three minutes of PP time in those three games. Teravainen is hard to ignore at these prices so lock him and load him in all formats this evening.

Evgenii Dadonov FD - $5200 DK - $6000
Opponent - ANA
Proj Pts FD - 11.46 DK - 3.34

I'll warn you right now that this guy is not a safe choice today, but he always offers a tremendous amount of upside as he plays on the top line and the #1 PP unit for the Panthers and their eighth-ranked offense. The former KHL star already has seven multi-point games in this young season and he has seven goals and ten assists through 19 games. Dadonov is a fine GPP play today.

Stack with: Jonathan Huberdeau, Alexander Barkov

DEFENSEMEN

Sami Vatanen FD - $4600 DK - $3800
Opponent - FLA
Proj Pts FD - 6.94 DK - 2.09

This position is nothing short of ugly today, but I managed to find a couple of decent plays and Vatanen has a goal, two assists, five shots, and 11 blocks in his last four games while averaging 22 minutes of ice-time, so he's a decent cash game option.

Drew Doughty FD - $5400 DK - $6000
Opponent - VEG
Proj Pts FD - 12.47 DK - 3.78

On the other hand, if it's upside you are looking for then this guy offers that as it seems like he is always on the ice and he plays on the #1 PP unit while also killing penalties for the Kings. Doughty is a good GPP play this evening against a vulnerable Vegas defense.
